family@church Welcome to our Family Worship. Please make yourselves at home in this beautiful Church. If children cry or become restless, please don t leave the Church. Stay inside and feel free to move around or visit the children s area. Before the service starts, a welcome is given. God s Family Gathers Grace, mercy and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you and also with you. We greet one another and then share family news. Saying sorry to God before we begin worship is really important. We admit that we sometimes say terrible things. We use words to hurt others. We twist our words to avoid telling the truth. We grumble and moan. Father, forgive us. We do foolish and silly things. We grab what we want without thought for others. We insist on our own way. We cheat and find shortcuts. Father, forgive us. When we have heard God s forgiveness we stand to sing a SONG

God s Family Listens We hear God s Word from the Bible being read. The Bible is a really important book. It tells us how God wants his people to live and how he wants his world to be. It also tells us about God himself. At the end of the reading you may hear the words: This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God! Someone will give us a talk to help us understand God s Word. Sometimes we need volunteers to help out so get ready! After we have heard God s Word, we stand to sing a SONG.

God s Family Prays Praying together is really important. Prayer is about telling God how we feel and also listen to how he feels too. Can you think of what you want to pray about today? When we have prayed together we say the Lord s Prayer Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen. When we have prayed, we stand to sing a SONG.

President The Lord is here His Spirit is with us. President Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. God s Family Remembers President Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give thanks and praise. Child Men Women Why is it right to give thanks and praise? Listen, and we will hear. Lord of all life, you created the universe, where all living things reflect your glory. You give us this great and beautiful earth, to discover and to cherish. You give us your love, even when things go wrong. Jesus knew hurt and pain. Through him you wipe away our tears, and fill us with your peace. You made us all, each wonderfully different, to join with the angels and sing your praise: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.

Men Women Child We thank you, loving Father, because, when we turned away, you sent Jesus, your Son. He gave his life for us on the cross and shows us the way to live. Send your Holy Spirit that these gifts of bread and wine may be for us Christ's body and his blood. Why do we share this bread and wine? Listen, and we will hear. President On the night before he died, when darkness had fallen, Jesus took bread. He gave thanks, broke it, and shared it with his disciples, saying: 'This is my body, given for you. Do this to remember me.' After they had eaten, he took the cup of wine, gave thanks, and shared it with his disciples, saying: 'This is my blood, poured out for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins.' So Father, with this bread and this cup we celebrate his love, his death, his risen life. As you feed us with these gifts, send your Holy Spirit, and change us more and more to be like Jesus our Saviour.

Child How do we follow Jesus Christ? Listen, and we will hear. President Help us, Father, to love one another, as we look forward to that day when suffering is ended, and all creation is gathered in your loving arms. And now with all your saints we give you glory, through Jesus Christ, in the strength of the Spirit, today and for ever. Amen. We break this bread to share in the body of Christ. Though we are many, we are all one body, because we all share in one bread. Said or sung Jesus, Lamb of God, have mercy on us. Jesus, bearer of our sins, have mercy on us. Jesus, Redeemer of the world, grant us peace. God s Family Dines Insert here something about your church policy! Come forward to receive bread and wine, or a blessing...

Before we go, we say what we believe: We believe in God the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. God s Family Goes! Sometimes we welcome the newly baptised, by giving them a lighted candle. When we do we say: Shine as a light in the world to the glory of God the Father. Amen. We believe in God the Son, who lives in our hearts through faith, and fills us with his love. We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who strengthens us with power from on high. We believe in one God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen. The Minster will give us God s Blessing before we go. We then stand to sing our final SONG.
