NEXT WEEKS MEETING THIS WEEKS MEETING NOTES Menu: Shredded Beef Sandwich, Baked Beans, Potato Chips, Fruit and Beverages GUESTS: Elaine Levin with Relay for Life FINES: Those that didn t shake hands with our newest member Lourdes Murillo HAPPY BUCKS: Lou Robinson- Happy that the Smith s invited him to go to GABP for the Pirates vs Reds, and this one belongs to the REDS. I think Louie thought he brought them good luck. Carl Engel Gave $2.00 for two of the members whose happy bucks were way to long. Jane Johnson- Happy that she went to Granddaughter Libby s award ceremony last night to see her receive 5 awards, most important was for straight A s again for the whole year. Glad that Lourdes is our newest member and sad buck for having to return from Punta Cana to this rainy and cool weather. Judge Barb Carter Happy to be at the meeting today and that she bought a box of Pancake Mix and made a very good pancake casserole for Mother s Day. Dr. Dave Kirkpatrick Sad buck, Dave said that his father Richard Kirkpatrick passed away. Richard was a former member of Lindenwald Kiwanis. Dave said his Dad asked about Kiwanis all the time. We are so sorry to hear of Richards passing. Our prayers to you and your family. Jim Connaughton Happy to be back from vacation. Mike Wolfe- Mentioned that he was proud of his son s sidewalk drawings in Middletown. He is also proud of his Daughter who is getting her degree at Miami. Her final were today and she ended up with a B+. Shaun Higgins Thanked the club for the scholarship that his daughter Cindy received from Lindenwald Kiwanis this year. Larry Lauridsen Sad buck that his girlfriend is in the hospital. Bill Merritt Sad buck for a former Hamilton Kiwanis member that passed away. Fred and Bill were good friends. Lourdes Murillo- She is going back to college to get her Psychology Degree. Jim Connaughton Granddaughter was in a talent show where she sang a country song, her performance was fantastic very proud of her. POTTO LOTTO: 1st lucky winner Billy Schafer 2nd to Jill Gaynor and 3 rd Larry Lauridsen ANNOUNCEMENTS: Pancake Day Erich mentioned we are selling leftover boxes of pancake batter for $6.00 a box. Let him know if anyone would like to purchase one. You can get Barb s recipe for pancake casserole to use up the mix. Red Carpet Luncheon Thursday May 12 th at the Marriott Hotel, 11:45 we have 7 signed up, cost this time is $17.00 a person. over

5 th Division Meeting (May 25 th ) - We are the host this month, this will be the last meeting of May which will be an evening meeting at Ryan s Tavern. Buffet that night is usual cost. Please call Jill to sign up or there will be a sign up sheet passed around next week. We are the host so let s have a big Lindenwald turnout. REMEMBER NO NOON MEETING THAT DAY Golf Outing - Bill Schafer said new fliers are available with the correct date. Friday June 3 rd, Twin Run Golf Course Shot Gun start at 12:00, Includes Lunch and Dinner Get your hole sponsors lined up cost is the same $50.00 each. Please get your 4somes lined up Remember the money from this event is what funds our scholarships each year. So let s have a big successful golf outing again this year. Guest Elaine Levin came today to let us know that this Saturday the Relay for Life event is at Hamilton High School 12:00 12:00 midnight. She invited anyone who would like to attend to sign up. CLOSING PRAYER: Larry Lauridsen Shaun Higgins OUR GUEST SPEAKER: Bill Schafer introduced speaker Shaun Higgins. Shaun is the Director of Park Operations at Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum. Shaun s back ground includes a B.A. in Organizational Leadership. He spent a number of years in the media in Hamilton, Cincinnati and Dayton. He was also a trainer at Community Development Professionals in Hamilton working with non-profit organizations. Originally from Pittsburgh, Shaun has lived in Hamilton since 1986 with his wife Lori, raising 4 children. Shaun is a member of the steering committee for Ohio Chautauqua-Hamilton which is why he is here today. He explained what the Ohio Chautauqua is and what will be happening when it comes to Hamilton in June.
