THE BOOK OF ISAIAH THE GOD OF OUR SALVATION ISAIAH CHAPTERS 56:1-12 MEDIA REFERENCE NUMBER WN-715 JUNE 27, 2018 THE TITLE OF THE MESSAGE: Discovering the Salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Prophecies of Isaiah SUBJECT TOPICALLY REFERENCED UNDER: Israel, Jesus Christ, Servant, Messiah, King, Salvation Introduction to the Text: Isaiah 56:1-12 Back In Chapter 55 8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For AS the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, :11 So shall (just like rain and snow) My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. In Chapter 56 1.) Because salvation is the work of God vs. 1-7 :1 Thus says the Lord: keep justice, and do righteousness, for (because) My salvation is about to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. 2 Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and keeps his hand from doing any evil. Are We Supposed to Keep the Sabbath? Question: what is the purpose of, or (the) reason for the Sabbath? 1

Exodus 34:21 Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest. Mark 2:27-28 :27 And He said to them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. 28 Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath. Romans 14:5-6 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. Colossians 2:16-17 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. The true Sabbath is not a day. It s a Place. It s being with God, in the presences of God in a personal relationship with Him through our Great High Priest Jesus Christ He is our Rest. Every day. Day in and day out. Day by day. Jesus is our All in all. Question? But what does that mean and practice? And how is it better than our Jewish friends keeping one day of the week? Hebrews 4:9-11 :9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. :11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. 3 Do not let the son of the foreigner who has joined himself to the Lord speak, saying, The Lord has utterly separated me from my people ; nor let the eunuch say, Here I am, a dry tree. 4 for thus says the Lord: To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, and choose what pleases me, and hold fast my covenant, 2

The Kingdom is Open to all who Repent, not to the perfect or the pretty. Not to the powerful or the prosperous. Btw - not to poor or the powerless. The Required & His Holiness Demanded Only Perfection in His Presences. Deuteronomy 23:1 He who is emasculated by crushing or mutilation shall not enter the assembly of the Lord. It was not uncommon for a male/man who had been attacked and/or violently or sexually abused (or a man who was a servant where females or a harem was present) to have his private parts be rendered unable to reproduce - he would then not be a threat. Acts 8:26-38 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is desert. 27 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, Go near and overtake this chariot. :30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, Do you understand what you are reading? :31 And he said, How can I, unless someone guides me? And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 The place in the Scripture which he read was this: He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth. 33 In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth. :34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man? 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. 36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized? :37 Then Philip said, If you believe with all your heart, you may. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. :38 So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. 3

Why this scripture? Well, you may not be from Ethiopia, but you just might be a eunuch. I say a eunuch because you may have been: He who is emasculated by Sexually Abused / Physically Rejected / Unwanted / Unloved / Unwelcomed. Bad Fathering, Mothering / Childhood Neglect / Misled / Misdirected. 5 even to them I will give in My house and within My walls a place and a name better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off. 6 Also the sons of the foreigner (gentile) who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants - - everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, (not the Day but the Abiding) and holds fast My covenant - - 7 even them I will bring to My Holy Mountain, and make them joyful in My House of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; 2.) Because God desires that all be saved vs. 8 8 The Lord God, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says, Yet I will gather to him others besides those who are gathered to him. When the Gospel was first preached it had to go first to the House of Israel. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. There is one of the most touching moments recorded in the Bible for both God and Man Matthew 15:21-28 :21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon (gentile regions). 22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My 4

daughter is severely demon-possessed. :23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, Send her away, for she cries out after us. :24 But He answered and said, I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. :25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, Lord, help me! :26 But He answered and said, It is not good to take the children s bread and throw it to the little dogs (loitering puppy s). :27 And she said, Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters table. :28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed from that very hour. John 10:14-16 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. 3.) So God will judge all those who are frauds vs. 9-12 9 All you beasts of the field, come to devour, all you beasts in the forest. 10 His watchmen are blind.. Matthew 15:10-14 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, Hear and understand: 11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man. :12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying? :13 But He answered and said, Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch. (10b) they are all ignorant; they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. 11 Yes, they are greedy dogs which never have enough. And they are shepherds who cannot understand; they all look to their own way, every one for his own gain, from his own territory. 12 Come, one says, I will bring wine, and we will fill ourselves with intoxicating drink; tomorrow will be as today, and much more abundant. 5

1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 2 Timothy 4:1-3a I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3a For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine. 2 Peter 2:1-3,12-15 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber :12 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, 13 and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, 14 having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. 15 They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding (the word).
