Broadview Missionary Baptist Church Sharing Personal Testimonies Through The Voice! Submitted by RaMona Keith For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart, Hebrews 4:12 KJV. The Newsletter Ministry wants members testimonies. Testimonies about classes at BMBC, personal life, school, or the workplace. To Him who alone doeth great wonders: for His mercy endureth forever. Psalm 136:4 KJV God s Word is powerful! Seasoned Christians have wisdom to share. God s children have powerful and piercing testimonies. Being transparent about our lives will help others. Someone may be going through the same trial, or may have been in a similar situation. Sharing testimonies will encourage others and may bring someone to Christ. Tell us what, who, why, when and where. Any testimonies or articles submitted to The Voice must be supported by scripture, or have a scripture reference. We at The Voice want to hear your voice. Pray that God s will be done as your testimony is shared in The Voice. Crisis Intervention Program Workshop Submitted by Dea. Larry Lee The Broadview Missionary Baptist Church (BMBC) Crisis Intervention Program (CIP) team held an Active Shooter Training workshop on November 21, 2015. Over 80 members of Broadview attended the training. The Active Shooter training session was conducted by Loyola University Medical Center Security (LUMC) Staff. The main priority in any active shooter incident is Run, Hide, Fight. In many cases, there is no pattern or method to the selection of victims by an active shooter. These situations are by nature very unpredictable and evolve quickly. The training provided many real life applications for Run, Hide, Fight. BMBC will follow the same preventative measures as Homeland Security. The CIP team s main objective is to communicate to the congregation the church s commitment to assist, if possible, individuals and groups during times of crisis. Our goal is to provide assistance of support to: Church members Surrounding communities And establish mission targets, national, and international relief efforts The BMBC Crisis Intervention Program team aims to enhance preparedness through a whole community approach providing training, products, and resources on a broad range of issues such as active shooter awareness, incident response, and workplace violence. The Crisis Intervention Program planning team meetings began back in September 2014 to review the Crisis Intervention Program proposals and develop recommendations for program implementation. The current planning team consists of representatives from the Ministerial Staff, Deacons, Trustees, Counseling Ministry, Health Ministry, Security, Child Protection and the Building Engineer. Look for more information in the coming weeks as teams are being formed such as: Evacuation Team Grief Support Team Catastrophe Relief Team Disaster Relief Team Resource and Referral Team Page 2
