Welcome to Holy Spirit Lutheran! Thank you for worshiping with us today. Whether you are a member, a regular guest or a newcomer, we are happy to have you with us. The people and pastors of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church are committed to meeting you wherever you are on your journey in faith. If you are visiting and would like to know more about our church and our faith, please fill out the Connection Card in the back of the chair in front of you and place it in the offering plate. COMMUNION PROCEDURES Sign up on the patio today! Everyone who believes that Jesus Christ is truly present in the sacrament and sincerely wishes to commune with Him is welcome to participate. Children may come forward for a blessing. When you receive the wafer, you may dip it into the wine (red) or grape juice (white). Gluten Free wafer available upon request. If you would like to participate in the sacraments but are unable to come forward, please inform an usher and communion will be brought to you. EVERYONE IS INVITED FOR REFRESHMENTS out on the patio. Please take a moment to share greetings and joy with one another. Make some new friends by introducing yourself to others. BIBLE ACTIVITY BAGS AVAILABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN during the worship service. Please ask the ushers for a bag. At the end of the service, return it to the usher so a child at another service can use the Bible Bag. RSVP at www.hslcjuno.org OUR FAMILY ROOM is available for families with young children. It is equipped with sound and video from the sanctuary. SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER requests for this week by using a Connection Card found in the chair back. Pastor will include your request in today s service. All prayer requests will be prayed for by our Prayer Ministry during the week and included in next week s worship bulletin. ASSISTED HEARING DEVICES are available at the sound booth for use at the beginning of each service. These devices will help amplify the sounds of the service to a comfortable level for the hearing impaired. It will allow you to move out of the sanctuary and not miss one word. As a follow up to Doug Wessel's very popular class, Ideas in Conflict: Understanding the Most Common Worldviews this class seeks to take your understanding of faith a step further. Why do you believe? Why do you believe what you believe? And, how do you defend against worldviews that are fatal to your Christian values and faith. Join us Sunday mornings in Learning Center room 203 at 9:30 beginning February 18. Attention All Thrivent Members! Have you used your Thrivent money yet? As a membership organization of Christians, we want to make sure that Thrivent members use their Thrivent charitable funds at the local level. Join Sarah J. Please print them for your income tax reporting. For people who do not have an e-mail address on file at HSLC, the statements will be available on the patio TODAY. First Communion Classes First Communion Classes for 5th graders and older will be offered on Sundays in the Learning Center, Room 202, from 9:30-10:30 am. Classes are February 18 - March 25. If a child is younger than 5th grade, they may also participate in the class after a parent has a discussion with Pastor Randy. The Celebration of First Communion will take place during the Maundy Thursday Service, March 29 at 7:00 PM. Please contact the church office at 624-9663. GROUNDED (a men's fellowship) now meets on Mondays at 6:30 at 2388 Edgewater Drive, PBG. Come join us for faith formation in the midst of food and fellowship. Contact Pastor Steve for details 727-542-0287. Please Pray For Our Medical Mission Team They are on a week-long journey to rural Haiti. Our team will deliver much needed medical care to people living in villages surrounding the Village of Hope School and Health Center. Team members are: Pastor Frank Wagner, Pastor Randy Kennedy, Mark Fielder (team leader/pharmacist), Eileen Fiedler (RN), Ian McInnes (EMT), George Ternenyi (pharmacist), and from St. Thomas Episcopal, St Petersburg, Rene Clark (RN), and Richard Davis (field assistant). We thank the congregation for your continued support of this important outreach ministry to the people of Haiti. Cancer Support Group begins 2/21 Cancer has no friends, but you do. As a survivor, as a spouse, as friend, you are invited to gather with others and share concerns and experiences. Come listen, share or get informed. This program will include spiritual and medical messages, speakers, support and fellowship. Come to the Learning Center room 208 at 6:00pm on 2/21. Call Committee Update As the Call Committee works to complete the first draft of the Ministry Site Profile, we thank all of you for your input on the congregation-wide survey. In addition to completing the MSP, we have also reached out to the community, representatives of the bishop s office, and other churches to become fully educated on the call process. During our meetings, our weekly devotions remind us to listen to the Holy Spirit as we seek a new lead pastor. Care Ministry Items needed for the Homeless at St. Ann: shoes, belts, hats, cloth shopping bags, men s jeans/pants (sizes 28-36) and ladies pants. Winter hats and gloves are needed. Small size toiletries, band aids, sunscreen, bug spray and vitamins are needed. Please place in the patio storage room. The Food Pantry has a cargo van that is used to pick up food.
