St. Luke's Brass Rubbings Field Trips: If you are interested in attending St. Luke's Ancient Brass Rubbings, we have two "field trips" planned. Saturday, October 20, beginning at 11:00 AM: Tea service is available during this offering but is not required. If you are interested in tea the cost is $26.00/person and includes a lecture followed by tea

service and a brass rubbing. You can expect to be there about 3 hours. Tuesday, October 23, beginning at 11:00 AM: Tea service is not available on this date. The cost is $8.00/person, with a group of ten. If less than 10 in the group, cost will be between $8 and $15, depending on the size of the rubbing done. You can expect to be there about 2 hours. We can go as a group and car pooling will be available. St. Thomas of Canterbury has been invited to join us. Sign up sheets are available in the Parish Hall and in the office. Payment is required two weeks in advance so everything must be in by Friday, October 5. Checks should be made payable to St. Luke's. Any questions, please contact Jane Alt at (562) 429 1425. Picture Directory: We are preparing to do an updated parish directory, complete with parishioners' pictures. Parishioner Robyn Lemus will be taking your photos in the Narthex after both services throughout the month of October. We will also be checking to make sure that we have correct contact information. Blessing of Animals: Saturday, October 6th will be our annual service of the Blessing of Animals. We will begin with a brief service of blessing (including individual blessings of each animal) at 10:00 in the Garden. For the comfort and safety of all concerned, human and non human guests alike, we do ask that a few ground rules be honored: * Please restrain all animals. They should be on leashes (if appropriate) or in carriers. * Please clean up any messes your pet makes. If you are not able to, or are uncomfortable bringing your pet, or if your pet is uncomfortable coming out,

you can bring a picture of your pet or one of your pet's favorite toys, which we will bless instead. The Holly Faire Cometh!!!: Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 17, 2018. We have a new offering that we think everyone will enjoy. (Patience Grasshopper! All good things come to those who wait.) The Silent Auction is a major portion of this fund raising event and we are asking for donations. Do you know someone in the community who could offer a special gift or treat for the auction? Is there something that you consider special and would love to receive as a gift? A great bottle of wine, theater tickets, movie passes, maybe a massage, etc. Think about who you know and who might be able to provide us with a very special auction offering. Please send them our way. Calling ACOLYTES of all ages: Anyone interested in becoming an Acolyte, please contact Holly Graham and/or Tamera Benedict. We are setting up trainings and schedules soon. Any ages, 8:00 AM or 10:15 AM attendees, lots of knowledge or no knowledge. St. Greg's needs YOU!!! In Case of Emergency... In Case of Emergency... Notify Your Priest!
