monday, 01/01 The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16b This verse tells us that the prayer of a righteous person has great power. And do you know that when we believe in Lord Jesus as our personal savior, we are made righteous? In other words, all our prayers have great power if we pray earnestly.

And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. I John 5:14 tuesday, 02/01 Have you ever thought that God doesn t hear nor answer your prayer? We may think that God is too busy to listen to us or our request is too small for Him to pay attention to. But this verse tells us to believe that God will certainly answer our prayers according to His will. Our responsibility is only to pray and trust Him. Let us learn to do that.

wednesday, 03/01 After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31 Prayer is not merely presenting our request to God and asking God to answer it. Prayer is our personal relationship with God and when we pray, God also causes many things to happen. One of those is giving us the power to witness. Keep praying and let God empower us with His power.

Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me. Psalm 66:20 thursday, 04/01 Have you ever tried to make a call and the line is always busy? It sucks, isn t it? Thankfully that will never happen when we pray. Anytime and anywhere, when we pray, God certainly listens to us and answers us according to His will. Today, let us praise God and give thanks for His faithful love.

friday, 05/01 When he prays to God, he will be accepted. And God will receive him with joy and restore him to good standing. Job 33:26 In a kingdom, it is not easy to meet the king. There are certain procedures, and even when we have followed all the requirements, the king may not want to be met. Thankfully God always welcome us and He always accepts all our prayers. He will even answer our prayers and give us victory. Let us learn to keep coming to Him.

The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but he delights in the prayers of the upright. Proverbs15:8 saturday, 06/01 What is a wicked man? A wicked man is a person who does the things which are not according to God s will, and one of those is lying. God doesn t like it when we lie, and it certainly grieves His heart. But the prayer of an honest man is always accepted by Him. Learn to be honest before God and come to Him boldly.

sunday, 07/01

But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. Matthew 6:6 monday, 08/01 Prayer is a two-way heart to heart communication with our heavenly Father, where we can pour out all our heart to Him. And our heavenly Father sees the things that are hidden deep inside our heart and mind. When we want to tell a secret to our friend, we don t tell it loudly or in a crowd, right? Likewise, God teaches us that when we pray, we pour out our heart, our secrets and our thoughts to God personally only to Him inside our room.

tuesday, 09/01 In those days when you pray, I will listen. Jeremiah 29:12 God always listens to our prayers, therefore we can always pray to Him in any situation. When we are sad, happy, sick, angry, we can talk to God about anything and God is always listening. It is so beautiful when we have a close relationship with God, isn t it? Let us learn to do that.

The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous. Proverbs 15:29 wednesday, 10/01 This verse reminds us to live righteously before God. Living righteously is living according to God s Word, to follow His commands and be obedient about the things He forbids. God grieves deeply if we don t live right, because sins hinder our prayers. On the contrary, when we live righteously, it is easy for Him to answer our prayers.

thursday, 11/01 For you answer our prayers. Psalm 65:2a Today s verse is very short but has a deep meaning. This verse tells us that God listens to our prayers. Have you ever talked to a person and that person doesn t listen to you? It is certainly uncomfortable. This verse emphasizes that surely God listens to our prayers, so don t hesitate to pray because we know that He is listening to all our prayers.

Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! James 5:17 friday, 12/01 If we pray earnestly then God will listen to our prayers, so don t be afraid to pray. Because when we pray in the name of Jesus, He will give us the same power that He gave Elijah. The power to heal the sick, to draw rain, even to raise the dead is inside us though we are only children. Let us pray earnestly and let His miracles flow through us.

saturday, 13/01 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:20 In this verse God says that He will give more than what we pray for. So don t be sad if God hasn t answered our prayers because He knows what is best for us and He will give better things than what we might ask or think. Keep praying!

sunday, 14/01

monday, 15/01 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. I Peter 4:7 Sometimes we face uncomfortable situations in our life. For example, dispute in the family, being hated by friends, or a lot of homeworks and tests at school. This verse tells us to not panic (but be calm) and PRAY. By praying, we can understand God s heart so that we are enabled to face those uncomfortable situations. Happy praying!

And even when you ask, you don t get it because your motives are all wrong you want only what will give you pleasure. James 4:3 tuesday, 16/01 Often times we pray for the things that give us pleasure, and we forget whether God is also pleased with our requests or not. Sometimes we pray only thinking of what benefits us, but we don t care of other people s needs. For example, we pray that the teacher doesn t come to school so that the test is cancelled, while our friends have prepared hard for the test. Or we pray that there will be heavy rain tonight so that the flood comes tomorrow and school is off. Though if the flood indeed comes, many people will suffer. For sure this kind of prayer doesn t delight God. Let us learn to ask for the things that please God s heart, not just to fulfill our own desires.

wednesday, 17/01 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. Romans 8:26 Have you ever faced such difficult situation that even you are speechless when you pray? Or maybe you feel that your words are inadequate and God doesn t understand you. Luckily, we have the Holy Spirit, our Helper. This verse says that the Holy Spirit himself prays for us. He delivers our groaning which cannot be expressed in words. So, whatever our prayer is, long or short, remember that God always understands our heart and He never leaves us.

Then hear their prayers and their petitions from heaven where you live, and uphold their cause. Forgive your people who have sinned against you. II Chronicles 6:39 thursday, 18/01 Sometimes we want to shout out, The world is unfair! Our friend who cheated got better scores, a friend steals our ideas and he gets more compliments, our sisters are wrong but we are the one being scolded, etc. However, the Bible teaches us to not repay evil with evil, but repay evil with good. Because God knows what is happening, and He himself will give us justice. Our duty is to remain doing good and forgive others, because God has already forgiven us first. He is a just God and He always forgives His people.

friday, 19/01 Listen to my prayer, O God. Pay attention to my plea. Psalm 54:2 First thing first! David, in the pursuit by King Saul, shouted for God s help. He was confident that God is the only one who can help him. Let us follow David s example, in facing every situation, first thing first, shout to God because He is our living help.

Listen to my prayer, O God. Pay attention to my plea. Psalm 88:13 saturday, 20/01 Bangun tidur ku terus mandi, tidak lupa menggosok gigi, this old song teaches us about our daily routines. But the Word of God teaches us to come before the Lord, pray and read the Bible before we start any daily routines in the morning. God wants us to have a close relationship with Him so that we can understand His heart. And thus, we are ready to face our days, whatever the challenges may be.

sunday, 21/01

Never stop praying. I Thessalonians 5:17 monday, 22/01 The Word of God says, Never stop praying. We all know that it is important to keep praying. But have we done that? Keep means that we do that continuously, in joy or sorrow. Learn to be disciplined in prayer. Train yourself to get used to praying. Make prayer as part of your life. Prayer is a twoway communication with Jesus. Start everything with prayer. Start your day with prayer. Do you know that Jesus always waits for you to talk with Him?

tuesday, 23/01 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Colossians 4:2 1. Devote yourselves to prayer. Nowadays people tend to want for quick and instant solutions. They become bored easily and impatient, and thus it is difficult for them to persevere. But God wants us to persevere in prayer, meaning that we do it continuosly and faithfully. 2. Being alert and have a thankful heart. God is pleased when His children are grateful, doesn t get angry easily, disappointed or complaining or grudging when facing problems. So keep being thankful in every circumstance. Remember that a thankful heart draws God s mercy which in turn draws His blessings and help.

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. Romans 12:12 wednesday, 24/01 In life we certainly would face problems. Then how do we handle it? 1. Rejoice in confident hope. Don t forget that we have a God who is greater than any of our problems. God will certainly send His help on time and while we are in waiting process, keep rejoicing in the hope in God. 2. Be patient in trouble. There are times when God allows problems to come into our lives to teach us patience. Learn to be patient in trouble because our problems will surely end in due time. 3. Keep on praying. Once again we are reminded to persevere in prayer. Remember that there is always an answer for each of our problems when we pray.

thursday, 25/01 Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. Psalm 143:1 This verse is David s prayer to God when he was in fear because of King Saul. David was sad and afraid. He prayed to God and God helped David on time. If you are worried, losing hope, sad, helpless or afraid, run to God. Pray to God. Because He is a faithful and just God, He surely will help us.

May you watch over this Temple night and day, this place where you have said, My name will be there. May you always hear the prayers I make toward this place. I Kings 8:29 friday, 26/01 This verse is the prayer of King Solomon to God before His altar. At that time, King Solomon built the house of the Lord, the God of Israel. When the house was finished, King Solomon lifted up his hands and prayed that God would always watch over the temple and hear the prayers from that place. A house is a place to live and dwell, and do you know that your body is the Lord s temple? So when your heart prays, you are talking to God and He will listen. Anytime and anywhere, you can pray and God is watching over you. God listens to each of your prayer.

saturday, 27/01 Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you. Psalm 5:3 David is known as a man after God s own heart. Prayer is part of his life, and talking to God is his daily habit. In trouble and pressing times, David always ran to his God. He shouted for help and David was saved, helped and given a way out. What is your problem today? What causes you to fear and worry? Shout for help to God in your prayer. Only Jesus can give you answer and help you.

sunday, 28/01

monday, 29/01 Don t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6 God is close to us and He wants to fulfill all our needs. He wants us to know that He is able to give us everything we ask of Him. And remember that God is as close as a prayer away, so pray for everything we need. Tell God whatever we need in our life, and give thanks for all that He has done for us.

I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you ve received it, it will be yours. Mark 11:24 tuesday, 30/01 Through this verse Jesus teaches us that the key to receive answers to our prayers is to trust Him and ensure that our prayers are according to God s will. The question is, have we trust God wholeheartedly and have we asked according to His will?

wednesday, 31/01 As my life was slipping away, I remembered the Lord. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple. Jonah 2:7 In life there are times when we are sad, hurt, and losing hope. At those times it is easy for us to forget about God, but on the contrary, it is in those times that we need to draw closer to Him. Lift up our prayers before Him and remember that each of our earnest prayer will reach His throne.

Now hear my prayer; listen to my cry. Psalm 88:2 thursday, 01/02 This verse reminds us that the Lord is the God who saves us, He listens to our prayers and hears our cry. He listens to our cry of help to Him and His hand is always ready to help us. Don t hesitate to come to Him through our prayers and let His will be done in our life.

friday, 02/02 You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows to him. Job 22:27 It is not easy to fulfill a promise, moreover if we promise it to God. But in today s devotion, God reminds us that when we pray and ask God to help us, it is Him who will enable us to do what we have promised Him. When we feel that we are incapable, return to Him and ask Him to help us.

But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Psalm 66:19 saturday, 03/02 The Bible continuosly reminds us that God hears all our prayers. There is no such too simple or unimportant prayer for Him. All our prayers reach Him and He will answer it according to His time. Whatever your problem is today, remember that God cares for you and He will answer you.

sunday, 04/02

Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. James 5:14 monday, 05/02 Who do we look for when we are sick? O well, it must be Mom or Doctor, because they can provide cure for our sickness. But besides them, there is One Mighty person with super power to heal all sickness, which is God. So, next time when you are sick, try to seek God first and kneel down to pray to God or even tell your teacher or your family to pray together with you as those who come together to pray will receive amazing results.

tuesday, 06/02 We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. I Thessalonians 1:2 Do you know what bring smiles to your parent or friends? Gifts? Saying thank you? Not really One of the greatest gifts one may receive is when we think of them in our mind and heart. When we think of them it means we remember and care about them. It means even more when we take time to pray for them. When we pray for others, God listens to us and blesses them. And that is what our parents do, praying for our safety and happiness at all times. And remember to give thanks for all the good things in your life!

And may you have the power to understand, as all God s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:18-19 wednesday, 07/02 This verse is a very beautiful prayer for us. God is a great God and He has great love for us. And the amazing thing is, He wants us to receive, understand, and experience His abundant love in our life. When we understand His love, we will be able to share His love to other people around us. May this prayer be our prayer everyday.

thursday, 08/02 When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before! Job 42:10 Have you ever heard the story of Job? He was a faithful man yet God allowed him to be tried by Satan. Everything he owned was taken away from him and even he was infected by a terrible disease. But he never lost his trust in God and God never abandoned him. Even when his wife and friends asked him to forsake God, he kept praying to God until eventually God restored him. So let us learn from Job to not allow any struggle to hinder us from God. On the contrary, keep our hope in God and He will restore us.

The king cried out to the man of God, Please ask the Lord your God to restore my hand again! So the man of God prayed to the Lord, and the king s hand was restored and he could move it again. I Kings 13:6 friday, 09/02 Our prayers are powerful. Like the man of God which we read in the above verse, the king was sick and he asked the man of God to pray and asked God to heal him. Then the man of God did that, and miracle happened. Our prayers can also draw miracles. Let us be brave to pray for other people.

saturday, 10/02 Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. Psalm 122:6 Today, let us pray together for our country and nation. Perhaps we are living in other countries right now, but let us remember our nation and start to pray for it. Pray for its prosperity and abundant peace. Our prayers can change many situations in the nation which we pray for.

sunday, 11/02

monday, 12/02 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Ephesians 6:18 Pray constantly anytime and anywhere. Let prayer be our habitual response to every situation we meet throughout the day. Let prayer be our lifestyle in a world that needs God s powerful influence. Pray not only for ourselves, but also for others.

But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. Acts 12:5 tuesday, 13/02 Prayer changes many things. It has the power to change any situation around us, even the most challenging ones in miraculous ways. In this story, Peter experienced a miracle in the prison while the church prayed for him from other place. Pray often and with confidence; let the miracle begins!

wednesday, 14/02 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals, and to prayer. Acts 2:42 Through this verse, we learn to unite our hearts with other believers, taught by the apostles or teachers and gather in prayer meetings and fellowship. We also need to grow in a group where we can learn God s Word, pray and become mature in faith. That is what we do every Sunday in Super Kids Service, so be faithful in it.

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. II Chronicles 7:14 thursday, 15/02 How can we receive answers for our prayers? 1. Humble ourselves by admitting our sins 2. Pray to God, asking for forgiveness 3. Seek God continually 4. Turn from sinful behavior and do what is right.

friday, 16/02 Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die. Esther 4:16 An important function of a community of believers is mutual support in difficult times. When we are facing struggles, turn to fellow believers for support and do likewise for them. Ask them to pray for you, and when others need your support, give it willingly.

Paul and Barnabas also appointed elders in every church. With prayer and fasting, they turned the elders over to the care of the Lord, in whom they had put their trust. Acts 14:23 saturday, 17/02 We have learned to pray and give support for one another. Today we learn to pray for our church leaders and support them. They have received a huge responsibility to lead us, and they need our support. This is the time to show our support by praying for them.

sunday, 18/02

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. I Timothy 2:1 monday, 18/02 This verse teaches us to always pray, not just for ourselves, but also for our friends. Perhaps we don t understand what they are going through, but when we mention their names in our prayers, we have indeed done a great thing for them. Have you prayed for your friends today?

tuesday, 20/02 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! Matthew 5:44 If we have a friend who likes to mock us or hurt our feelings, will it be easy for us to love them? Certainly not. On the contrary, it might be very hard to do that. But this verse teaches us to love the people who hate and like to mock us. Though they persecute us, we still have to love them; and one of the ways is to pray for them. Let us learn to do that, though it might be hard in the beginning, when we try to do it, God will help and enable us.

And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare. Jeremiah 29:7 wednesday, 21/02 This verse teaches us as God s children to pray and bless our city and nation. Wherever we are, though we come from different parts of the world, our job is to pray for the city where we live in right now, so that God s peace is over the city. Today let us take some time to pray for the place we are living in, pray for the local leaders and ask God to show His power to the people living around us.

thursday, 22/02 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. James 5:15 Do you know that the faith you possess has GREAT power? Though your faith is little, if you believe with your faith and pray for the sick, the sick will be healed. Sometimes we might be afraid to pray for them, but let us believe in this verse and be brave to pray for your friends who are sick.

I always thank my God when I pray for you, Philemon, Philemon 1:4 friday, 23/02 Have you ever suddenly remembered one of your friends? If yes, remember that God wants you to pray for that friend and they will be certainly blessed by your prayers. If you are reminded of a person, don t forget to pray for them.

saturday, 24/02 Dear brothers and sisters, pray for us. I Thessalonians 5:25 This is a short verse yet it is very meaningful. This verse invites us to pray for the servants of the Lord who give themselves to serve, like our Sunday school teachers or our pastors. They really need our prayer support, so let us pray together for them.

sunday, 25/02

monday, 26/02 Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak. Mark 14:38 The above verse tells us to keep watching and praying, always be close to God no matter what happens in our life. Don t wait for troubles to come for us to seek the Lord. But whether it is good times or bad times, let us be close to God through our prayers and let God be our true Friend.

But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too. Mark 11:25 tuesday, 27/02 When we come to pray, don t let our hearts filled with pain or grudges towards other people. The Bible says to forgive first the people who have hurt us, then we can come to pray to God. If God has always forgiven all our sins, we should learn to also forgive other people, regardless of what they have done to us.

wednesday, 28/02 You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it. Matthew 21:22 The world always tells us, You should see first before believing, but God says the contrary. If we believe and have faith, then we will see all God s goodness in our life even when our physical eyes haven t seen them. Therefore, let us have a steadfast faith, pray confidently and we will see God s answers for our prayers.
