We quote from the Prayer to the Holy Spirit, "Spirit of God help us to put our trust in the power of love to overcome hatred". Please help yourself to this (or any other) prayer card to assist you in your prayer life. THERE S SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE! VISIT WWW.CCUP.ORG THE MISSION OF CORPUS CHRISTI UNIVERSITY PARISH is to be a sign and instrument of the presence of Christ at the University of Toledo. With reliance on God and guidance from the Catholic tradition, we strive to form a community of faith which promotes the spiritual, intellectual and moral development of all its members, so together we can work for justice and peace and offer effective leadership in church and society.

AT CORPUS CHRISTI UNIVERSITY PARISH we want our students to feel at home. We want to not only be a resource for spiritual growth, worship and reflection, but also a place where you ll meet great friends, have great times and gather great memories that will last a lifetime. Our community is welcoming and supportive. Our two student organizations CSA (on Main Campus) and Newman Club (at the Health Science Campus) have many resources to support student life at the University of Toledo. ELECTRONIC FUNDS TRANSFER: Are you interested in having your offertory donation to Corpus Christi Parish deducted from either your checking or savings account? This deduction would be on a regular basis, once a month, to take the place of your weekly donation at Mass. If you are interested, please contact the parish office at 419-531-4992 and we will send you the forms and answer any questions. Vocations Prayer: Gracious God, make me an instrument to encourage others to give of themselves and challenge me to do the same. Inspire men and women to respond generously to your call to service and leadership in your Church as priests, consecrated religious and deacons. Amen. Religious Life: Consecrated women religious by their lives witness the joy of eternal union with God. Freed from earthly cares, they more fully manifest the Kingdom of God to all Christians. The structure of the vowed life frees consecrated women religious to live entirely for God and others. If you are interested in this vocation, please visit www.toledovocations.com/sister/ sister_overview.html or you can contact one of the Religious Sisters in our parish. Holy Orders: When a gentleman feels the call to follow the Lord as a Priest in the Catholic Church, he should call Monsignor Charles Singler, our Diocesan Vocation Director, as 419-244-6711 or speak to one of the Parish Priests. If the Permanent Diaconate is of interest to a gentleman he should call Deacon James Caruso, our Vicar for Deacons at 419-244-6711 or speak to one of the Deacons of the Parish. CCUP PAYPAL ACCOUNT: If you would like to make a payment or contribution simply go on line to our web page www.ccup. org and click on Electronic Payments. Infant Baptism: The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated after the 11 a.m. Mass on the fourth Sunday of the month. Registered parishioners are asked to make arrangements for the Baptismal Preparation Class and the Liturgical Celebration by calling the Parish Office. Matrimony: Anyone planning to be married must contact the Parish at least six months in advance. The exact date and time of your wedding should not be determined until after consultation with a priest or deacon. If either party has previously been civilly or religiously married, the Presider is not permitted to set a date for the wedding without resolving the previous marriage. Pastoral Care of the Sick: When a parishioner is confined to home because of age or infirmity, or in a hospital or nursing home, please call the parish office to arrange for Holy Communion to be brought to them. When one is seriously ill, the healing Presence of the Lord should be requested in the Sacrament of the Sick by calling the Parish office. Mass Intentions While the celebration of the Eucharist is celebrated for all of God s People, living and deceased, it has long been the practice of the Church to accept particular intentions for each Mass. These intentions are published in the bulletin which provides a means of recalling the memory of a deceased member or another particular intention. It is the custom of the Diocese of Toledo that the traditional offering for a Mass intention is $10 per Mass. The Faithful who make such an offering so that Mass can be celebrated for their intention, contribute to the good of the Church and by that offering they share in the Church s concern for the support if its activities. Mass offerings are intended as free-will gifts. No one is to be denied these services because of an inability to make such an offering. Our parish has very few Mass intentions at the present time, so, if you are interested in arranging for a particular intention for a Mass please contact the parish office. FEEL AT HOME

To my home away from home, When I walked into Corpus Christi University Parish four years ago as a freshman, I did not know how much of an impact one body of people could have on me. Over these past four years, I have learned more about myself because of this Church community than I ever could have imagined. I don t want to get emotional on all of you (because I know that will happen multiple times within the next few days), but I wish I could thank each and every one of you personally for all that you have done for me, my friends, the Catholic Student Association and our Church family, so here it goes. To my wonderful Core Board, thank you! Without your support and hard work, would we really have gotten anything done?! To my Vice President of Committees, Joey Leech, your dedication to this organization amazes me. You continually surprise me with your hard work and love for each and every one of our members. To my Vice President of Outreach, Caitlin Arthurs, your creativity is endless! Thank you for all the hard work you put into Rocket Launches, Welcome Week, and Hurry Week. Without you, we would not have been able to reach out to as many students as we did! To my Secretary, Meryn Frey, thank you for being my person! The energy and passion you have for everything you do is so admirable. To my Publicity Director, Lauren Lonsway, your spunk and creativity bring so much fun to our organization. Even though you don t have the most fun job (nagging people for announcements), you did a wonderful job! To my logistics man, Treasurer, the one and only Sean Oberle, thank you for your abundant knowledge about our funds and always being on top of things. It s a good thing you can handle money, cause I for sure can t! To our advisors, Pam and Lauren, thank you for your guidance and support. Your experience is immeasurable and our board thanks you immensely. Fr. Phil and Monsignor Billian, thank you for supporting us in anything and everything we do. I know I can speak for all of CSA when I say how much we appreciate your love and dedication for our organization. To the committee co-chairs, thank you! I have said multiple times to people that I am not very creative or good at coming up with ideas. I rely on all of you for the wonderful ideas so that we can put them into action. Your passion for this organization is endless! From the bottom of my heart, I can truly say that you all have become some of my best friends and I will miss you all. It makes me so happy to see so many of you developing into strong and passionate leaders. Take what you learn here and carry it on to the real world. These leadership skills will be more valuable than anything you read in a book! Finally, to our permanent community members, thank you! Over the years I have met many of you personally and have really enjoyed working alongside you. CSA really appreciates your time, talent, and treasure that you donate to our community. Sunday night dinners and your welcoming spirit help to make me feel at home. I look forward to getting even more involved with the parish community in the next few years as I attend graduate school here. It has truly been an honor to serve as The Catholic Student Association s President for the past year. Thank you for the memories, fun, laughter, challenges, encouragement, spiritual enrichment, and friendship. Good luck to all of you in your future endeavors. Know that I am praying for you and will miss you so much! CCUP s tagline, Feel At Home is spot on! To anyone who has donated their time and effort to make this parish a home away from home, Thank You! Peace, Love, and Go Rockets, Marisa Tomei CSA President, 2014-2015

Please join in prayer for the people of Nepal, where a devastating earthquake struck on Saturday, April 25. Loving God, We pray for all those affected by the earthquake in Nepal as we offer the words of the psalmist, Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord (Psalm 31:25). May those who are paralyzed by fear May those who have lost or are still searching for loved ones May those who remain trapped under rubble May those rescue workers who provide relief and recovery May those who are moved with compassion to help God, whose love knows no bounds, fill all those who suffer with your comfort and peace. We ask all this through Christ, our Lord. Amen Diocese of Toledo to Collect Funds for Napal Earthquake Relief Efforts 100 % of Donations to Support Efforts of Catholic Relief Services and Caritas Nepal Toledo, Ohio - Parishes, schools, and affiliated institutions of the Diocese of Toledo are being asked to assist Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and Caritas Nepal with their relief efforts following the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal just before noon on Saturday, April 25. According to recent reports, over 4,000 people were killed as a result of the earthquake; thousands more have been hurt or displaced by the devastation. "During moments such as this, when a natural disaster has brought suffering and pain to so many, Christ's own words remind us that we are meant to be in solidarity with our brothers and sisters: "Love one another" (Jn 13:34)" said Most Reverend Daniel Thomas, Bishop of the Diocese of Toledo. "Our prayers and financial support of the relief efforts in Nepal are an expression of our love for those who, right now, need it most." Catholic Relief Services and its partner Caritas Nepal will focus on the immediate needs of those affected by the earthquake: emergency shelter, blankets, and water treatment and hygiene kits. 100% of the monies collected by the Diocese of Toledo will be forwarded to Catholic Relief Services, and according to CRS 92% of their funding goes directly to those in need. Contributions to the relief efforts may be directed to a parish of the Diocese of Toledo, or can be sent directly to: Diocese of Toledo - Nepal Relief; 1933 Spielbusch Avenue; Toledo, Ohio 43604. Corpus Christi will have a special collection for the people of Nepal next weekend. For your convenience special envelopes will be included in next week's bulletin.
