Articles for next month are due to the church office on Monday, September 9th. FROM CHURCH COUNCIL Our shepherd has retired and we are grateful for Pastor Curry s years of service to Faith Lutheran Church. We are eager to know the new pastor that God has chosen for us and we continue to pray for our Call Committee as they prayerfully discern God s will for our church. As we wait and pray, we are thankful for our Faith family members who have stepped up to share their spiritual gifts to continue the ministry of Faith. We are encouraged by Pastor Hanson s reminder that our living Savior remains the Head of our congregation and that God knows how to take care of each of us. As the summer winds down, we look forward to beginning a new year of Sunday school, Bible studies, service projects and fellowship opportunities. What a privilege it is to serve and glorify our Living God. Please contact a member of church council, as you hear God s call to serve in a specific way. We want to help you in your journey. All of our gifts and talents can be used to share the love of Christ with each other, our community and the world, to His glory. God s Blessings! NAME TAGS AND LANYARDS We have purchased new lanyards with Faith Lutheran Church imprinted on them to be used with our name tags. We are encouraging everyone to wear their name tags every Sunday and hope that with the addition of the lanyard that it will be easier for all of us. If you are a visitor, please fill out the blank name tag and insert it into a badge with a lanyard. We all need to get back into wearing name tags now so that our visitors feel comfortable approaching us and it will also be necessary when our new pastor arrives. The ushers will try and remind you if you forget. If your name tag is not on the board or has been lost, please let the church office know. SERVICE COORDINATOR- If anyone has a situation or needs direction on how to handle anything on Sunday mornings, there is a Service Coordinator in charge for both services. Marlene will be printing the name of that person in the bulletin each week so that you will know who to ask. This program will be in effect until our new pastor arrives. HOLY COMMUNION will continue to be offered each Sunday that we have an ordained minister to bless the elements. On a Sunday when an ordained minister is not present, there will be no communion. SUNDAY SCHOOL begins on Sunday, September 15th, at 10:15 AM. CONGRATULATIONS to Michael & Lora Myers, son of Brooke Hackmann, on the birth of a daughter, Lottie Brooke, on Saturday, August 24th. ANSWERS TO PUZZLE PAGE LAZARUS JUDAS THOMAS NICODEMUS CLEOPAS MOSES JESUS SILAS

THANK YOU! Brooke and I (as well as all our children) would like to express our thanks to all the people of Faith Lutheran Church for their unending prayers and many forms of support. The reception, individual comments, cards and conversations deeply touched us. We are humbled through the love the people of Faith have poured out upon us as we take this next step of faith in our move to Fort Wayne, Indiana and my studies at Concordia Theological Seminary. I would also like to thank the members of the Youth Committee for your partnership in ministry and dedication to our youth. We pray for you often as the Lord prepares Faith for her next pastor and would ask you to continue to keep us in your prayers daily as He works out the many details of our move. May God continue to richly bless the work, service and witness of Faith Lutheran Church. Steven Hackmann Dear Members of Faith, On behalf of Wernle Youth & Family Treatment Center, we would like to thank you for your contribution of $672.00. This is a very exciting time for Wernle, its children and its staff. New opportunities represent a wonderful chance to introduce new approaches to our treatment. In addition to providing art, music, and athletics many of our boys are most in need of a helping hand, a hug, a listening ear or some gentle guidance. Our staff believes in this philosophy and they do their best to provide our children with these necessities on a daily basis. With this approach to treatment, and caring supporters such as you, Wernle is making a difference in our children's lives. Darrell R. Gordon, MSA, JD, CRFM President/CEO MOVIE NIGHTS ARE COMING BACK! We hope to see you Friday, September 6th. Concessions of popcorn & candy sold to benefit Faith Lutheran Church Youth Programs. Please pass this on to your friends and family!
