SHAVUOT CELEBRATION Come join us at the Shul on Saturday evening, May 19th, for our Congregation Sons of Israel Shavuot Celebration. The fun will begin at 7pm with pizza (veggie & cheese), followed by assorted ice cream treats. This will be followed by a musical Havdalah, a brief Maariv service, Torah discussion & Lots of Fun! CONGREGATION SONS OF ISRAEL MEN S CLUB Will meet on Wednesday the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th of May at 9:00am, all at the Shul. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Congregation Sons of Israel Men's Club meets every Wednesday morning at 9:00 am; in the Herbster Social Hall. Each week the club has an abbreviated weekday morning service followed by breakfast and a lively discussion. The discussion is often led by Rabbi Nechemiah Schusterman of Chabad of the North Shore. Weekly dues, which are two dollars per week are used to purchase items that the Shul needs or sometimes donated to a local charity. Please join us on any Wednesday morning. If you have any questions, please call Stanley Simon at 978.535.0288. REMINDERS Get Well cards and Sympathy cards are sent to our Congregants. Please call Marjorie Simon 978-535-0050, to inform her of any illness or condolences. The Shul supports The Shriners Hospitals for Children. We are saving the aluminum tabs on soda & similar cans. The Shriners collects these in bulk, sell the aluminum & use the money to support hospitals. Please save & bring in your tabs when you visit the Shul. There are red containers upstairs in the foyer & downstairs on top of the safe. Your cans will still have the full redemption value. The Humanitarian Committee is again collecting CLEAN, new or gently used blankets & towels, UNOPENED pet food & NEW pet toys for the North East Animal Shelter. Suggested donations that are needed may be viewed on their website www.northeastanimalshelter.org. Please bring them to the Shul in bags labeled Animal Shelter, a container for donations will be placed in the Social Hall. We will be collecting everything through the month of May. Thank you. DONATIONS TO THE JEWISH FOOD PANTRY Paper Goods, Peanut Butter, Tuna & ***Kosher Vegetarian Soup & ***Brown Rice & Dried Beans.are NEEDED to go to Kosher Food Pantry. Food donations (MUST BE KOSHER). This is a wonderful way to give back to our community, especially during the cold Winter months. Thank you to Francine Black who brings our items to the Food Pantry every month. Please remember to CHECK EXPIRATION DATES before you bring items to the Shul. Bins are located upstairs in the vestibule and downstairs in the back of the Herbster Social Hall. Thank you. On Saturday evening, March 31st, our Shul hosted its First Passover Seder. Twenty-eight Shul members & friends enjoyed a delicious kosher catered meal provided by Catering by Andrew in Brookline. Our Spiritual Leader, Seth Landau, made the Seder an enjoyable and fun evening for everyone. Thanks to Kappy s Liquors in Peabody for their generous donation of Kosher for Passover wine. Special thanks to members of the Ritual Committee for their help kashering the kitchen, setting up & preparing the Seder plates, shopping, cleaning up and their support during the festive holiday.
