FAMILY LIFE CENTER VISION It has been my honor to pastor Fellowship Baptist Church for the past 18 years. Each week it is a privilege beyond description to find my place on the front row and experience a living illustration of all that God has allowed me to be a part. The sound of worshiping voices floods my heart as we sing, reminding me that our journey together has produced volumes of stories that motivate us to praise God. Each story is unique. Each week we celebrate the transforming power of God s work in our lives and in the lives of others. The moments when we find someone and shake their hand reflect the beautiful plan of God to encourage one another through the local church. When we take the offering and we participate in the privilege of stewardship - I am stirred by the goodness of God. Above all, as I approach the pulpit each service to proclaim the truth of God s Word, I am humbled to see the faces of this My prayer is that your heart will congregation who take this spiritual embrace this fresh opportunity to journey with me. provide a place where our children and grandchildren can grow into the Now we are beginning the second men and women God created them mile of this journey. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. MILE MARKERS OF THE PAST November 1981 - Fellowship Baptist Church was organized and held its first meeting at the Best Western Motel on Route 50. Spring 1982 The Fellowship family moved to the facility on 46th Street by renting the vacant church building of the Church of Christ in Christian Union. Spring 1988 - A new addition was added to the building adding an office, nursery and two Sunday School classes. December 1998 A new 350 seat sanctuary was added to the existing building to accommodate the rapid growth of the church. September 1999 Fellowship Baptist Church began telecasting the morning Worship Service on the local cable public access channel. February 2002 Praise FM Radio, a ministry of FBC, went on the air. October 2004 The Rosemar Road property was purchased. April 2006 Ground was broken on the Rosemar Road project. September 2006 Fellowship Baptist Church began telecasting the morning Worship Service on Fox Parkersburg (WOVA-TV 22). August 2007 WCFT-TV 68, a ministry of FBC, began broadcasting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week covering Wood and Jackson counties. PHASES OF OUR VISION Complete the Family Life Center for occupancy Includes: Kitchen & Restrooms 3 Classrooms (above the kitchen) Targeted start date: May 1, 2015 Amount needed to be raised: $300,000 Reconfigure the existing lower level classrooms with permenant sheetrock walls. This will allow us to add at least one more classroom and will increase soundproofing between classrooms. This phase will begin after the completion of and will be budgeted through the annual budget of Building and Grounds. 5-10 years - Build the Children s Ministry Wing onto the south side of the Family Life Center April 5, 2009 The Fellowship Family s Inaugural Worship Service at the new Rosemar Road campus. August 2013 Approximately three acres adjacent to the church was purchased for UPWARD Sports and additional parking. The story does not end here; chapters are yet to be written. With great responsibility and blessing come great challenges, thousands in our area and millions across the world still need Christ. Now is the time for us to go the Second Mile.
