Primer Martes/ First Tuesday FIRST TUESDAY at the TABLE - Tuesday, April 3 This monthly gathering at St. Paul seems to never fail to surprise and inspire. All are welcome to a potluck meal in the Fellowship Hall starting at 6 (more or less) and followed by an inspiring time around the altar in the Sanctuary. POWER ZONE - Sunday, April 8 - Focus on ART We will have an afternoon of creating works of art at St. Paul. Those who can stay after the worship service can have a light lunch and participate in the VBS planning and/or help with a Bulletin Board project. From 2 to 4 pm, Rev. Marcia Woodyard will come and lead a class to create a beautiful piece of canvas art. We may also work on some notecards to send out with words of encouragement and love. Bring your creativity and stay for the afternoon. From the St. Paul UMC 2018 Staff Parish Relations Committee-- There is a box in the narthex for written and signed comments from church members concerning all staff members: Pastor, Musicians, Choir Director, Nursery, Janitor. The SPRC has turned in work required by the District and Conference for the appointment process. Soon they will give attention to staff evaluations and setting goals for the year. St Paul Ministry Council Sunday, April 8 after worship ~~Light lunch~~ We will break into Work Groups: (Adults and Youth) 1. Vacation Bible School planning Rolling River Rampage: Experience the Ride of a Lifetime with God! WHEN: Monday thru Friday, June 18-22 Closing event for all: Saturday, June 23. Lots of volunteers will be needed, and sign-up sheets will be put out next month for jobs such as: scenery designers/painters, craft helpers, adult leaders, etc. We will make sure there is something to do for everyone who wants to be involved! 2. Bulletin Board Project 3. St. Paul "Ready For Anything"-- Planning for disaster response, church/ grounds safety. Young at Heart-- No info yet for April. MORE--Anyone Interested? 1. To have a new Church Photo Directory made, 2. To lead or join a new small group or class? 3. To find out about becoming a member of St Paul UMC, 4. Clean-up projects: outside or inside, 5. To help the pastor make visits, 6. Be part of a discussion of current events from the faith perspective, 7. To build a "Blessing Box"--a wooden structure with shelves for outside: "Take what you need, Leave what you can." And others to make sure it is stocked with diapers, canned goods etc. 8. Garden! The St Paul UMW members voted in our March meeting to discontinue the June Joint Supper with First Methodist UMW as the purpose of the Joint Meeting, encouraging new UMW units in our area, was not having the intended results. Saturday April 14, 10 a.m. brunch meeting featuring program by Marti Booth on The Sacred Space of Nurturing, incorporating Mother s Day gifts. Saturday May 12, 10 a.m. trip to see the new United Methodist Home in Jessamine County, which took the place of the Versailles Home. We will have lunch together in a nearby restaurant afterwards. Saturday, June 9, 10 a.m. brunch meeting featuring UMW District Officer Barbara Zimmerman, who will tell us about the Global Assembly in Columbus Ohio and preparation for the 150th anniversary of our women s organization in 1869. Other United Methodist church women in our area will be invited to join us on June 9. We will have a substantial meal. 2nd Community Baby Shower: UMW will be sponsoring our 2nd Community Baby Shower through the Sparow's Nest Ministry. Be looking for the crib to appear in the narthex again! The date is May 29th. Thank you so much for your generous support last year. It shows St. Paul is a caring church. Mary and Becky
