Henry ws born in 1843 nd ws Confederte vetern. Rebecc ws born in 1807 nd ws nmed s n heir in Mry Mock's will, probted in 1850 in Dooly Co., Georgi. My question is to whom ws Rebecc Mock mrried? They lived in Screven Co, GA in 184Q DoolyCo, GA in 1850 nd then moved to Erly Cq GA where Rebecc nd severl other Mocks re buried. I need help determining which limb or tree to serch. Iv R. To Iv from Ron Moore, modertor of the Mock DiscussionGroup- Your Rebecc Mock is in the 1850 US Census in Dooly Co, GA, ge 40 with Henry C. Mock, ge 5. Listed in the sme county is mes U. Mock, ge 22, born in Georgi. In the 1860 US Census of ErlyCo, GA there is Rebecc Mock, ge 51, b.ga,listed with HenryMock, ge16, b. GA. No other occupnts were in the house. Iust two houses from her is listed fmes U. Mock (ppers to bejmes Underwood Mock) ge27, mechnic, b. GA, with wife, Mry ge 30 b. GA nd children: fonthn Mock, ge 1.4, b. Georgi Jmes Mock, ge12, b. Georgi Andrew Mock, ge L0, b. Georgi Civility Mock, ge 3 (F) b. Georgi Lucy Mock, gel0l12b. Georgi In Dooly Co, GA in 1850 there ws lso George F. Mock, ge 26, b GA, Srh F. Mock, ge 22, Leroy L. Moclg ge 3 nd Susn A.E. Mock ge 5/ 12. In the sme household ws Susn Rily, ge 24 with Hrmon Rley, ge 4. In the 1840 US Census of Dooly Co, GA, there ws Mry Mock living lone nd hed of household. I'm wondering if this Mry Mock my be widow who died nd nmed Rebecc Mock in her will tht you noted, nd I wonder if she could be mother-in-lw to Rebecc?? It certinly ppers tht Jmes U. Mock nd fmily nd Rebecc Mock with her sory Henry C. Mock must hve moved together frorn Dooly Co, GA to Erly Co, GA. Could Rebecc hve been the mother of Jmes U. Mock? She would hve hd_ him when she ws 18 which is not impossible, but if so, why weren't there other children evident between mes nd Henry? mcftftruilirtrir s We still need to know the nme of Rebecc's husbnd nd Mry Mock's husbnd. There is one possibility tht I cn see s the husbnd of Rebecc, nd tht is n Arthur Mock who is supposed to hve mrried Reec Holley, 14 Mr 1838 in Pulski Co, GA. (I wonder if this shouldn't be Rebecc Holley nd the "b" ws left out on the CD ROM Georgi mrrige records). An Arthur Mock is in the 1820 US Census of Burke Co, GA. The birth of Henry Crwford Mock in 1843 would fit withthis mrrige. I would like to find someone who hs reserched this Arthur Mock fmily. I see tht Pulski Co, GA djoins Dooly Co. RonMoore From new member Crol Mock McKinney, Henry Crwford Mock is one of my reltives. According to wht I hve been told by one of his direct descendents, Rebecc, his mother, ws not mrried t the time of his birth. Rebecc ws the sister of George Frnk Moclg who ws my gg grndfther. Ron Moore's nswer to Crol: If Rebecc ws not mrried when Henrv Crwford Mock ws born, this my be n explnition why it hs been difficult to find Henry's fther. Before ccepting this s fct, I believe it is still importnt to fincl out who the Arthur Mock ws who mrri'ed Rebecc Holly, nd who lived in the djoining Pulski Co., GA Arthur Mock is sid to hve committed homicide upon Eliih Holly in 1842. I hve seen him in the 1790 US Census of Frederick Co, MD but never knew who he ws or where he cme from. I still do not know who he connects with nd if nyone hs specific informtion on him, plese let me know. I serched the Mock Archives [on the Internetl nd could find relly little informtion onhim. In his will which ws dted 25 My 1792 in Frederick Co, MD, he did not mention wife, but nmed five dughters. These were: 1. Brbr 2. AnnMry 3. Sibill/Sybill (both spellings used) 4. Mrgret 5. Eve There is indiction tht t lest one of these girls ws mrried nd I suspect there were others, but he did not mention ny mrried surnmes. He specified tht his Estte be divided eqully between these five dughters except for specil bequest to his grnddughter Cthrine, dughter of Sybill. The sole executor of the will ws Edwrd Slmon. The two witnesses were: Peter Stimrnell nci i{enry Heinz. The will ws proved in court on 3 Nov 1792. According to Steve Lpp, Vlentine Mock owned property in Frederick Co., MD s erly s 1750or 60's. He lso found brief deth nnouncement for Sybill, his dughter who ppers to hve drowned trgiclly. If there is nyone who thinks they my hve connection to this fmily, I would recommend serch for deeds nd for other probte records to see if the mrried surnmes of these girls cn be found. I hven't looked t Mrylnd Mrrige records but this should lso be considered. In the pst, I often wondered if this Vlentine could be the. fther of some of the erly Mocks which were in Loudoun Co., VA.
