Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) The Holy Prophet (PBUH) is reported to have said

Holy prophet s (PBUH) love for Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) It has been said that Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) was the favorite daughter of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Whenever Hadhrat Fatima would come to see the Holy prophet (PBUH), he would stand up, out of love, and would seat her in his place. When the Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to go for a journey he will meet Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) at the end and will see her first on his return.

Marriage Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) was married to Hadhrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Hadhrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was a cousin of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Hadhrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) later became the fourth Khalifa of Islam.. The marriage took place in the second year of Hijrat (migration of Muslims from Mecca to Medina).

Marriage Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) got married at the age of fifteen years and six months. At the time of marriage, Hadhrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was twenty one years old. Hadhrat Fatima and Hadhrat Ali s (may Allah be pleased with them) wedding ceremony was simple. Hadhrat Fatima's dower was made up of a few things - a head cover, a leather cushion, a bag and a grinding stone.

Marriage The Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed for Hadhrat Fatima and Hadhrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with them). "O Lord, bless them between themselves, bless them in their relations with others and bless them in their generations."

Love for Islam Hadhrat Ali said that he had seen Hadhrat Fatima, reciting the Holy Quran while making bread in her melodious voice. Hadhrat Imam Hussian says that Hadhrat Fatima had special love for the Holy Quran. He says that he has seen her mother busy in prayers for the whole night till dawn Hadhrat Khawaja Hasan Basri says that Hadhrat Fatima never missed a prayer during illness and hardship.

Household Responsibilities Hadhrat Khawaja Hassan Basri quotes that Hadhrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) has said that despite being very busy in prayers, Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) never gave him a chance to complain about household matters. Once Hadhrat Fatima had fever and could not sleep all night. In the morning Hadhrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with her) saw her doing Wudoo with cold water and after prayers she kept herself busy in household affairs. Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) said that she did Wudoo to please Allah, and did the household work to serve her husband and children. Hadhrat Imam Hussain (may Allah be pleased with him) said that Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) never asked for help from her relatives or neighbors for household duties. She used to do all the work with her hands.

Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) During his last illness, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said to Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) "Once in every year, Gabriel recited the Quran to me. This year he recited twice. He also told me that every succeeding prophet has lived to half the age of his predecessor. He told me that Jesus, son of Mary, lived to 120 years. Therefore, I think, I may live to about 60 years." It is further reported that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said to her that amongst his Ahl-e-Bait Hadhrat Fatima (ra) will be the first one to meet the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Death Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) died six months after the death of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) The Holy Prophet (PBUH) is reported to have said to Hadhrat Fatima ( may Allah be pleased with her) 'Don't you like to be the leader of all the ladies of Paradise or the leader of all the lady believers?"

Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) Hadhrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) was a devoted worshiper, loving daughter, dutiful wife and a caring mother. May Allah shower His blessings on her. May Allah enable us to follow her footsteps, Ameen.
