Life-Giving Words from Book 2 of the Psalms New American Standard Version My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long. Psalm 71:8 Memory groups will meet weekly to recite each assignment. The booklet contains selected Bible verses to be memorized each week. The assignment number and Bible reference should be memorized and recited with each assignment. Those who prefer a shorter assignment may memorize the three verses in each assignment which are marked with the symbol:. There is a companion book for small children containing one verse per week. The verses found in the children s book are marked in this book with the symbol:. Trinity Bible Church 2018

Assignment 1 Psalm 42:11 Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. Psalm 45:7 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your fellows. Psalm 46:1-3 1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; 3 Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. Psalm 46:10-11 10 Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.

Assignment 2 Psalm 49:15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, For He will receive me. Psalm 50:7-12 Selah. 7 Hear, O My people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify against you; I am God, your God. 8 I do not reprove you for your sacrifices, And your burnt offerings are continually before Me. 10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills. 11 I know every bird of the mountains, And everything that moves in the field is Mine. 12 If I were hungry I would not tell you, For the world is Mine, and all it contains. 9 I shall take no young bull out of your house Nor male goats out of your folds.

Assignment 3 Psalm 50:13-15 13 Shall I eat the flesh of bulls Or drink the blood of male goats? 14 Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving And pay your vows to the Most High; 15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me. Psalm 50:21 These things you have done and I kept silence; You thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you and state the case in order before your eyes. Psalm 51:1-2 For the choir director. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. 1 Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse me from my sin.

Assignment 4 Psalm 51:3-9 3 For I know my transgressions, And my sin is ever before me. 4 Against You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil in Your sight, So that You are justified when You speak And blameless when You judge. 5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. 6 Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom. 7 Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness, Let the bones which You have broken rejoice. 9 Hide Your face from my sins And blot out all my iniquities.

Assignment 5 Psalm 51:10-16 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 15 O Lord, open my lips, That my mouth may declare Your praise. 16 For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners will be converted to You. 14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation; Then my tongue will joyfully sing of Your righteousness.

Assignment 6 Psalm 51:17-19 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. 18 By Your favor do good to Zion; Build the walls of Jerusalem. 19 Then You will delight in righteous sacrifices, In burnt offering and whole burnt offering; Then young bulls will be offered on Your altar. Psalm 52:7-9 7 Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge, But trusted in the abundance of his riches And was strong in his evil desire. 8 But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever. 9 I will give You thanks forever, because You have done it, And I will wait on Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones. Psalm 55:11 Destruction is in her midst; Oppression and deceit do not depart from her streets.

Assignment 7 Psalm 55:12-14 12 For it is not an enemy who reproaches me, Then I could bear it; Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me, Then I could hide myself from him. 13 But it is you, a man my equal, My companion and my familiar friend; 14 We who had sweet fellowship together Walked in the house of God in the throng. Psalm 56:3 When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. Psalm 56:8-9 8 You have taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book? 9 Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call; This I know, that God is for me. Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

Assignment 8 Psalm 56:10-11 10 In God, whose word I praise, In the LORD, whose word I praise, 11 In God I have put my trust, I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me? Psalm 57:10 For Your lovingkindness is great to the heavens And Your truth to the clouds. 4 They have venom like the venom of a serpent; Like a deaf cobra that stops up its ear, 5 So that it does not hear the voice of charmers, Or a skillful caster of spells. Psalm 61:1 Hear my cry, O God; Give heed to my prayer. Psalm 58:3-5 3 The wicked are estranged from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth.

Assignment 9 Psalm 61:2-4 2 From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For You have been a refuge for me, A tower of strength against the enemy. 4 Let me dwell in Your tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah. 7 On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. 8 Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah. Psalm 62:5-8 5 My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.

Assignment 10 Psalm 62:11 Once God has spoken; Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God; Psalm 63:3-4 3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You. 4 So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. Psalm 64:10 The righteous man will be glad in the LORD and will take refuge in Him; And all the upright in heart will glory. Psalm 65:4 How blessed is the one whom You choose and bring near to You To dwell in Your courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your holy temple. Psalm 64:6-7 6 They devise injustices, saying, We are ready with a well-conceived plot ; For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep. 7 But God will shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they will be wounded.

Assignment 11 Psalm 66:4 All the earth will worship You, And will sing praises to You; They will sing praises to Your name. Selah. Psalm 67:4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; For You will judge the peoples with uprightness And guide the nations on the earth. Selah. Psalm 68:18-20 18 You have ascended on high, You have led captive Your captives; You have received gifts among men, Even among the rebellious also, that the LORD God may dwell there. 20 God is to us a God of deliverances; And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death. Psalm 68:35 O God, You are awesome from Your sanctuary. The God of Israel Himself gives strength and power to the people. Blessed be God! Psalm 69:20 Reproach has broken my heart and I am so sick. And I looked for sympathy, but there was none, And for comforters, but I found none. 19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, The God who is our salvation. Selah.

Assignment 12 Psalm 69:21-22 21 They also gave me gall for my food And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. 22 May their table before them become a snare; And when they are in peace, may it become a trap. Psalm 71:6-7 6 By You I have been sustained from my birth; You are He who took me from my mother s womb; My praise is continually of You. Psalm 71:17-18 17 O God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still declare Your wondrous deeds. 18 And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come. Psalm 72:8 May he also rule from sea to sea And from the River to the ends of the earth. 7 I have become a marvel to many, For You are my strong refuge.
