OCTOBER 22, 2017
WELCOME Westminster Presbyterian Church is a covenant family of believers called by God to fulfill His purposes here in Laurel, and as a staging ground for worldwide kingdom growth where we seek to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ to fill the earth with disciples, subdue it redemptively for God s glory, and worship Him joyfully. We are being redeemed and equipped by the Spirit to build up one another until the Lord returns.

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is He, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty - He is the King of glory. Rev. Kory Duncan -Psalm 24:7-10 INVOCATION HYMNS OF PRAISE* Sing Praise to God His Name is Wonderful
SING PRAISE TO GOD
HIS NAME IS WONDERFUL
PROFESSION OF OUR CHURCH S FAITH* Christ Jesus, who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. -Philippians 2:5-11 OLD TESTAMENT READING Mr. Steven Morgan Psalm 133 INTERCESSORY PRAYER HYMN OF GRACE* Power of the Cross GIVING OF TITHES AND OFFERINGS OFFERTORY Lisa Badley & David Bonilla OFFERING PRAYER Ode to Joy ANTHEM Choir Song For the Nations PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION AND CHANGE SERMON Called Out - Many Parts, Yet One Body 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 Rev. THE POWER OF THE CROSS
CORPORATE AND RESPONSIVE CONFESSION OF SIN O God, you have called us into fellowship through your Son, Jesus Christ. We confess with sorrow our slowness to learn of him, our failure to follow him, and our reluctance to bear the cross. Have mercy on us, Lord, and forgive us. We confess the poverty of our worship, our neglect of fellowship and of the means of grace, our hesitating witness for Christ, for evading responsibilities in our service. Have mercy on us, Lord, and forgive us. We confess our spiritual complacency and lack of commitment, our imperfect stewardship of your gifts, our tendency to divide rather than seek unity, and impose man made systems on Kingdom living. Have mercy on us, Lord, and forgive us. Amen. (Hear now our silent and individual prayers of confession) ASSURANCE OF PARDON AND THE LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. AMEN. HOLY COMMUNION Minister: The peace of the Lord be with you! People: And also with you! Breaking of the Bread and Sharing of the Cup The center of each bread tray contains gluten-free bread. The outer rings of each cup tray contains wine, the inner rings contain juice. Please hold the elements as they will be taken together after all are served. BENEDICTION AND HYMN OF REFLECTION* The Power of the Cross Oh to see my name written in the wounds, for through Your suffering I am free. Death is crushed to death, life is mine to live, won through selfless love! This the pow r of the cross, Son of God slain for us. What a love, what a cost. We stand forgiven at the cross.
