Deuteronomy 5:6-21 Inner sin (heart sin) Outer sin (behavioral sin) because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. Romans 1:25 ESV Good Things Ultimate Things lesson 4 4

Father wants children to honor and obey. Ultimate goal of respectful children Examples Young man longs to be married. - Marriage has become a god-replacement Woman is gifted and successful in her job. Built life around work James 4:1-4 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. 4 You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. lesson 4 5
