Note: Use the key below to put the pictures in order and review the Bible Story with your class. Jesus Eating With His Disciples - Jesus was having dinner with his closest friends, the disciples. Jesus loved his disciples very much, and he wanted to do something for them. Jesus Preparing to Wash The Disciples Feet - So Jesus got up from the table, wrapped a towel around his waist and poured water into a big bowl. Jesus Washing The Disciples Feet - Jesus knelt down to the ground and began washing the disciples feet. Back in those days, people had to walk long distances on dirt roads, and their feet would get very dirty. Whenever everyone would sit down to eat, someone would wash their feet, so they would be clean. Usually, the servants would do this, so the disciples were confused when their teacher, Jesus, did it for them. Jesus Talks To His Disciples - One of the disciples, Peter, didn t want Jesus to wash his feet because he didn t think that Jesus should do this for him. But, Jesus knew that it was important to do things for other people, so He washed their feet. He told the disciples to go and do things for others, just like He had done for them. After The Activity Say: 1. That was a great story! 2. This story teaches us that we can learn from Jesus. Let s say our Main Point together. I Will Do Things For Others! Closing Statement: Just like Jesus did something for His disciples, we can do things for others around us. Remember to do things for others this week.
