2 nd Sunday after Pentecost June 3, 2018 WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS WE WELCOME ONE ANOTHER OPENING PRAYER OPENING SONGS Here I Am To Worship Light of the world, you stepped down into darkness, opened my eyes, let me see. Beauty that made this heart adore you, hope of a life spent with you. Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down, here I am to say that you are my God. You are altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me. King of all days, O so highly exalted, glorious in heaven above. Humbly you came to the Earth you created, all for love s sake became poor. Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down, here I am to Say that you are my God. You are altogether lovely, altogether Worthy, altogether wonderful to me. And I ll never know how much it cost, to see my sin up on that cross. I ll never know how much it cost, to see my sin upon that cross. I ll never know how much it cost, to see my sin upon that cross. I ll never know how much it cost, to see my sin upon that cross.

Mighty to Save Everyone needs compassion, a love that s never failing; let mercy fall on me. Everyone needs forgiveness, the kindness of a Savior, the Hope of nations. Refrain: Savior, he can move the mountains; my God is mighty to save, he is mighty to save. Forever, Author of salvation, he rose and conquered the grave; Jesus conquered the grave. So take me as you find me, all my fears and failures; fill my life again. I give my life to follow everything I believe in. Now I surrender. Refrain Shine your light and let the whole world see we re singing for the glory of the risen King. (2x) Refrain You re my Savior. You can move the mountains; God, you are mighty to save, you are mighty to save. Forever, Author of salvation, you rose and conquered the grace; yes, you conquered the grave. You are mighty to save. SHARING PRAYER CONCERNS & TIME OF PRAYER MORNING OFFERING I Will Follow You. Tomlin THE READING FROM THE GOSPELS Matthew 4:18-25 This is the Word of our Lord. THANKS BE TO GOD! MESSAGE To Catch a Fish! Rev. Missy Rekitzke CELEBRATION OF HOLY COMMUNION Pastor: Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

CONFESSION AND PARDON Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Pastor: Hear the good news: Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God's love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! All: Glory to God. Amen. THE GREAT THANKSGIVING The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Almighty God, creator of heaven and earth. And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. Holy are you, and blessed is your Son Jesus Christ. By the baptism of his suffering, death, and resurrection you gave birth to your church, delivered us from slavery to sin and death, and made with us a new covenant by water and the Spirit. On the night in which he gave himself up for us, he took bread, gave thanks to you, broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said: "Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you. Do this is remembrance of me." When the supper was over, he took the cup, gave thanks to you, gave it to his disciples, and said: "Drink from this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant, poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith. Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here, and on these gifts of bread and wine. Make them be for us the body and blood of Christ, that we may be for the world the body of Christ, redeemed by his blood. By your Spirit make us one with Christ, one with each other, and one in ministry to all the world, until Christ comes in final victory and we feast at his heavenly banquet. Through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy church, all honor and glory is yours, almighty Father, now and for ever. Amen. Now, as children of God let us pray the Lord s Prayer together: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. CLOSING SONG I Have Decided To Follow Jesus I have decided to follow Jesus I have dedcided to follow Jesus I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back No turnig back. 2.The world behind me, the corss before me 3. Summer is Coming! (which means so is our Park Service!) This more casual service will start again on Sunday, May 27 th at 9:45am, at the Idlewild park pavilion. Wear your shorts & bring your lawn chairs, blankets, & little people! Bring your neighbors too! (In case of inclement weather, worship will be in Chapel). This worship service has grown a lot in the past few years, and as such, we need your help to continue its success. We need folks to serve as Ushers & Greeters, Communion servers, Worship leaders and Lay Readers. We especially need some new folks to help with the sound system set up. If you are not already involved with serving at the Park, please contact me. We would love to get more people on the schedule. Please call Scott Clausen, Director of Worship and Music at the church (410-822-0001), or email him at musicdirector@stmarkseaston.org The UM Men need some help. St. Mark s United Methodist Men are setting up the tables & chairs for Pastor Missy s Farewell Service & Luncheon on Saturday, June 16 th at 9:00 am. We could sure use some extra help from some of the younger men & boys of the church to accomplish this task as the tables & chairs have to be moved from storage to the tent for the activities. We will be putting them away on Sunday, June 17 th at 5:00 pm. With enough help, we should be done in an hour or so. If you can give us a hand, it would be appreciated. Thank you! Contact Roger Eareckson with any questions. 410-469-0558.

PASTOR MISSY S FAREWELL As we all know, Pastor Missy is moving to a new church beginning July 1. Her last Sunday preaching at St. Mark s will be Sunday, June 17. There will be one service held that day at 10:00 am. We will worship together under a tent on the front lawn of the church. Please dress casually. A picnic-style reception will immediately follow the service, which will include hamburgers, hotdogs, covered dishes, desserts and beverages. The UMM and UMW are coordinating the reception and will provide information on how the congregants can support this event. The UMW are planning an old fashion pot luck picnic. We are asking each family/ congregant attending to bring their favorite covered dish to share with all. The SPRC will be providing an array of desserts. We want this day to be a special time to share and express the love and gratitude we have for Pastor Missy & Phil. As such, we will be collecting a Love Offering the day of the service. If you wish to make the offering via check, please make it out to St. Mark s United Methodist Church, with Love Offering written on the memo line. Contributions can also be made via cash or Push-Pay. We are also asking everyone to write cards and letters, which we will collect at this service as well. Blank note cards and envelopes are available now on the table by the Chapel and in the Gathering space for you to use if desired. If you are unable to make the service on June 17, please feel free to donate to the Love Offering or drop off the card and letters in Karen s office, where boxes will be available to collect the items. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Reed or Frank Gunsallus.
