Day 9 Surah Furqan 18th July 2013 Remember, the more we repeat the ayaat of Quran, the more Allah will allow them to enter our heart. Yesterday we talked about how Allah is judging between the people. And we see His Wisdom when He gathers the worshipper with the worshipped. Then He will speak to the false gods, the innocent idols, did you beautify your worship for them, or did they do it by themselves? No, they will answer with glorification of Allah, that it is not suitable for them to take awliya besides Allah, rather the mushrikeen indulged in life till they forgot the reminders. Remembering Allah is life. May Allah make us among those who remember Allah much, day and night. Ameen. ف قد ڪ ذ ب وك م ب ما تق ول ون فما تس تط يع ون صر ف ا و ل نص را ومن يظ ل م م نڪ م ن ذ ق ه عذاب ا ڪ ب ير ا ) (٩١ Thus they (false gods all deities other than Allâh) will belie you (polytheists) regarding what you say (that they are gods besides Allâh), then you can neither avert (the punishment), nor get help. And whoever among you does wrong (i.e. sets up rivals to Allâh), We shall make him taste a great torment. (19) Remember when you read the ayaat of Quran, that the One who speaks is Allah SWT. Grammar helps you do tadabbur even more. bihi. mafool =ك م, faail =و : ڪ ذ ب وك م Allah is now talking to the idol worshippers. He is saying to them, the false gods have belied you. The idol worshippers love their idols, sacrifice to them, go around their graves, magnify them, glorify them, spend money on them. But these idols will bely them on the day of judgement. Nowadays people advertise for their false gods. News of shirk spreads very fast.some people believe that energy can heal, solve problems, bring goodness to your homes. People don't realise this is shirk. Energy is useless without Allah. Dont think that it can heal, bring happiness, etc. So energy didnt say to the people, I control you. And on the day of judgement, she will bely all the people who trusted and believed in her. In the dunya you used to say that they are gods, and that they have the ability and power and can do anything without Allah's help. So many people believe in Abdul qaadir jilani, who was a very righteous person, but they go to his graves, they sacrifice there. They talk about their experiences. May Allah free the muslimeen from all this shirk. Ameen. So on the day of judgement, these false idols have become their enemies, i.e they are against them. There is a lot of trust between the mushrik and his idol, they think about them, love them, and they do all this so that they will help them, fulfil their needs. It is a 2 sided process. But no, the idols will leave them on the day of judgement. Only Allah can help u on that day.

On the day of judgement, people will be shown their idols, they will see them, run to them, but will instead fall into the hellfire. But the believer is safeguarded by his belief. It is protecting you from being fooled by these false idols. him. (someone so important to you that) you can't see anything except =الهة So the believers who lived on la ilaaha illallah, they denied all these false idols, they were very firm on this, they will not run to these idols, and they will say, no we are waiting for Allah. They will be able to see Allah by recognising him from His shin. They will prostrate before Him. But the hypocrites will not be able to prostrate before Allah. So the mushrikeen will be left alone, and will not be able to avert the punishment nor get any help : to avert, i,e., they wont be able to avert the punishment when it is coming to them. The صر ف ا mushirkeen spent days and nights worshipping their idols, but these idols will leave them. They will not be able to give ransom, can't give waasta to protect themselves from what they are facing. From a hadeeth we now that disbeliever and mushirk will be told by Alllah, if you have all the treasures of the heaven and earth, will u give it as a ransom to protect yourselves from the punishment? They will say that they are ready to sacrifice their children and all their wealth to protect themselves from the punishment. Then Allah will say that He wanted something less than this from them in dunya. Remember our deeds are valuable to Allah. He only wants us to believe in la ilaha illallah. Therefore, life filled with faith is very valuable. Only Allah can avert the punishment and give help. victory. : help, نص را In the story of Surah Ghafir, Allah tells us about the believer of Qawm Firaun, when he was telling people that he feared for them yawmat tanaad. No one will look at the distress of the people, they will be calling people for help and no one will be able to help them. People used to think that Firaun can help them. But there is no helper except Allah. From these ayaat we know about two groups of disbelievers: 1. Blind followers 2. Not blind followers, they see and recognise the truth but reject it. 1. These mushrikeen are blind followers. So they are al muqallideen, adh dhaalleen, aljaahileen. They just want to imitate people, are misguided and ignorant. People who imitate each other, eg when they go to worship graves, u ask them why do you do this? They say because everyone went so we also went. Eg those who worship cows, they dont know why they r doing it. But in worship and iman you cant just imitate. For worship, you need iman, and you need evidence. So worshipping Allah needs to be with iman. in Islam, you cant just imitate ppl.you have faith first, and then worship will come. Religion is not inherited.

2. this group reconises the truth but rejects it. They are stubborn and arrogant. Eg Firaun saw the clear evidence from Musa Alaihisalam. But he rejected it. They know its wrong still they do it. place. not putting things in the correct :ظلم

And We never sent before you (O Muhammad SAW) any of the Messengers but verily, they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you as a trial for others: will you have patience? And your Lord is Ever All-Seer (of everything). (20) In Surah Furqaan u see all the questions that the disbelievers will ask u and how u shud answer them. The Quran is a guidance, a cure for all the doubts of the heart. Sometimes ppl have these doubts but they dont talk about them. Quran solves and cures these doubts. (When u read the ayaat of the Quran with repetition, it has a greater effect.) In the earlier ayaat, they accused Nabi SallAllahu alaihi wasallam that he didnt deserve to be a messenger because he was human, and not an angel. Allah is saying that every messenger was a human. They ate, walked in the market, struggled for their livelihood, worked. Human beings have many characteristics but from all of them, Allah mentions about eating and walking in the marketplaces. Because these are the qualities that people look for when they want to idolise someone. So we see that some people put the messengers down because they are humans or they elevate them to the status of a god. But the messengers are in need of food and drink. This is their fuel. Angels dont eat and drink. They are solid. Human beings are hollow. They need something to keep them going. And they walk in the marketplaces for their work, buying and selling.

So the disbelievers are saying, if they had a treasure, or a garden, they wouldnt need to go to markets. So we see they are normal people. Only Allah is One, As Samad, there is noone like Him, He doesnt beget nor was He begotten. He is Rich. His treasures are unlimited. And the messengers are human, dont elevate them and dont degrade them because of them being humans. Then Allah gives us a very important rule - Allah has made the people a trial for each other. When we face any human being, you are a test for him and he is a test for u. Same with your children, friends, student and teacher, messengers and their people, leaader and citizens, anyone and everyone. So we need to be very carful when we deal with people. The disbelievers want the messenger to be a jew, but he came from the arabs, so they rejected him. Are you patient?? Eg husband and wife. Generally people will only want to take their rights and want to wrong the other person. But once u know that they are tests for you, you are cautious, you think, i need to fulfill my duties. Similarly, sometimes ppl would argue with their messenger, wouldn't follow him, but the messenger thinks, I dont want them to make me angry, I dont want them to ruin my faith. Eg. people are either good to you or bad to you. And both are tests. If they are good, this is a test for your tawheed. Someone brings good to you, you need to appreciate, thank and reward this person but in your heart, you attribute this goodness to Allah. Also, don't attriute this goodness to yourself. Dont say, I am good, and thats why people are doing good to me. This is Allah's kindness and generosity that He sent someone good to me.

IF someone bad comes to you, someone irritates u, talks bad about you, insults you, think,' I need to be patient with the decree of Allah. I dont want his behaviour to decrease my faith. This is to check ur percentage of iman, of tawheed. So these are both tests. In life, we learn and learn but when the time for the test comes, it is different than what u expect. E.g., the preacher is a test for the ppl - they need to thank him, listen to him, respect him. And the ppl are a test for the preacher - not everytime will they be good to him.

The minimum we need is sabr.sabr: not to react. E.g., the rich are a test for the poor. The poor gets jealous of the rich. And the poor are a test for the rich.when the rich see the poor they try to appear better than them. Ignorant ppl are test for the knowlegdable. The knowledgable shouldn't get arrogant. And the ignorant shouldnt get jealous. When we look at the trials we face in dunya it is for sabr. Dunya is an ikhtibar and ibtila. What is the hikmah behind all this?? At tarbiyah - to be nurtured. Allah nurtures us through these situations. When you control ur anger, ur jealousy, your arrogance, and you are patient, you are being reformed, elevated. Learn from your situations.dont expect ppl to be always good, exactly the way u want them. That will only be in jannah. Thats why Allah said, Your Reformer is the All Seer. May Allah benefit us from this ilm and make us act upon the Quran. Ameen.
