Welcome into the presence of the Lord of all our seasons. Large print bulletins are available and children s bulletins are available on the table in the Narthex.

Those who are able are invited to stand. PRELUDE Praise Him! Praise Him! Arr. Mary McDonald LIFE OF THE CONGREGATION LET US WORSHIP GOD TOGETHER Moment of silence to prepare your hearts for worship SONG OF DEVOTION (hymnal & screen) (remain seated) #138 Holy Ground CALL TO WORSHIP (Psalm 146:1-3, 5) Leader: Praise the Lord, my soul. People: I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. Leader: Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. People: Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God. INVOCATION Leader: Gracious Lord, fill us with Your Spirit so that we might worship and serve You with our whole lives. Bind the evil one from us and protect us from all his schemes. Enable us to praise You this day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen SONGS OF PRAISE (insert, hymnal & screen) Step By Step #655 Sanctuary CALL TO CONFESSION (2 John 1:5b-6)) Leader: I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love. Let us confess, in silent prayer, our failings to follow God s command to love one another. So that God, in His great love, might forgive us and strengthen us to obey. SILENT PRAYER

PRAYER OF CONFESSION Unison: Merciful God, forgive us for our willful disregard of Your commands. We justify our selfish behavior by pleading ignorance of Your Word. Help us to trust You and obey Your voice in our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen ASSURANCE OF PARDON (Romans 6:1-11) Leader: What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were, therefore, buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with Him in a death like His, we will certainly also be united with Him in a resurrection like His. For we know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him. The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Sisters and brothers in Christ, believe the good news: you are forgiven. AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostle s Creed Unison: I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. GLORIA PATRI
