February 18th 26th 2019 (9 days / 8 nights) (Beginning and finishing in Colombo) Our sacred journey invites you to immerse yourself in spiritual Sri Lanka, while connecting with this shining land and all the while reconnecting with yourself on a very deep level. Our intention is to take you to a new level of awakening, inspiration and well-being. We will visit some of the most ancient and sacred sites, whilst grounding and connecting with ourselves each day through meditation and mindfulness activities (no prior experience required). This journey will be led by Greg & Hasitha. Greg Hawes is meditation / mindfulness coach, retreat leader & artist. Hasitha Perera is a financial specialist born in Colombo and raised in Australia.
Our combined experience allows us to guide you through this Jewel of Asia. Hasitha has invaluable local knowledge of the culture and ways of Sri Lanka as well as an amazing network on the ground. Greg has extensive experience in leading and guiding spiritual retreats. This synergy of experience allows you to rest easily knowing that you will be fully supported both physically and emotionally throughout your journey. The journey will allow connection both to sacred sites and to yourself for rejuvenation, healing and awakening. Our journey will begin in Colombo at 11am on Monday 18th February 2019 at a designated meeting point. On our first day in and around Colombo we will visit some amazing temples and experience traditional local food for our evening meal. Staying our first night in Colombo will allow time to settle and ground into Sri Lanka. The next morning Hasitha will talk us through some traditional foods for breakfast and how best to enjoy the meal. Greg will explain about mindful eating. We will then head north to Sri Lanka s ancient capitals of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, then continuing onto Sigiriya and Kandy.
We will attune to each place, have guided meditations and mindful activities each day. Allowing plenty of time in each place and absorb the energy of each location. You will visit amazing temples and ancient sacred sites. We will also experience each place mindfully through the artists eye. Each day will give you time for leisure, reflection, resting, including some refreshing swims. Throughout the journey Hasitha and some local guides will teach us more about local foods, traditions and Sri Lankan culture.
We will visit an ayurvedic herb and spice garden. We will visit and watch local artisans creating their crafts and see tea plantations along with performances by Kandyan dancers. We will learn about the abundance of crystals and gemstones in Sri Lanka (some of the best in the world). Greg will guide us about the healing properties of crystals and gemstones that have been used for thousands of years. Optional Elephant rides are available along with optional Ayurvedic massages, treatments and remedies.
We will return our travellers to Colombo at the end of our journey late afternoon on Tuesday 26th February. The land cost of this 9 day / 8 night fully guided journey is $4,250 per person (twin share). Single room supplement +$900 $1,250 deposit (non-refundable) will secure your place (limited spaces available). Progressive payments of any amount or payment in full can be made anytime by EFT leading up to departure, with full payment due by January 20th 2019.
