ABUAHOI; AMERICAS 8 AMERICAS 8 Local community members are checking the Abuahoi New Testament for comprehension. The translation team will use their feedback to make revisions and ensure an excellent translation. Pray that many community members will help in this process. The team also hopes to complete a recording of the whole New Testament this year. Praise the Lord for the good reception the recorded portions have received so far. These audio Scriptures give the Abuahoi the opportunity to listen to God s Word, and come to know and grow in Him. Please pray this project on to completion! CREVICE; AMERICAS Lift up in prayer a consultant who is working with the Crevice translation team to check the final books of the New Testament. He hopes to complete the checks by the end of February 2014. Following that, a read-through must be made by Crevice speakers who are unfamiliar with the text. Ask God to provide reviewers who will give helpful feedback to ensure the translation will accurately communicate God s truths. When the readthrough is complete, the New Testament can be typeset! Pray for endurance, keen minds, and good health for the entire team. M; AMERICAS The Lord strengthened the M translation team last year so that they were able to send the manuscript for printing at the end of the year. Pray that the printer will produce high-quality and durable books. Ask God to protect the New Testaments as they are shipped back to the people, and as they go through the country s official customs check. Above all, pray for the M people to be transformed by God s love and that they will mature in their walk with Him through having His Word in their heart language. PU; AMERICAS This year the Pu team will conduct a final comprehension check of Luke, 1 3 John, 2 Peter, Jude, and Philemon. Pray that God will provide the team members with plenty of time during the dry season (January through May) to allow for final checking with a translation consultant. Pray that they can push on to final revision, and ask God to give each team member His grace and strength. An expatriate member of the team has a worsening corneal eye disease and as a result has to use greatly enlarged type to work on the translation. Pray that God, the Great Physician, will protect his eyes from further damage and bring healing! Also, local Pu believers face opposition from others in their communities. Ask the Lord to give them courage. 1

SINCERE; AMERICAS Thank the Lord that the partial New Testament in Sincere was printed. Pray for the need to find a good team of speakers to record it. Ask God s Spirit to use these oral and printed Scripture materials to open people s hearts to the love of Christ, and that they will see beyond their animistic beliefs. Some of the people resist the Gospel because it is seen as damaging to their culture and the ties to animistic traditions. However, some have expressed interest in the Gospel, so pray that they will come to a personal knowledge of Christ and grow through His Word. Pray that a chorus book and topical index Scripture booklet will be finished by May 2014, when national missionaries will take the partial New Testament and some audio recordings to local villages for a special celebration. work to establish a village where the Unabel often stop on their river trips. Pray for boldness and humility as the couple shares the Gospel. W; AMERICAS (1,000) Rejoice! After many years of perseverance, the translation team has submitted the W New Testament for printing! The W people are excited and the local church is growing and maturing. Please lift up the printing, shipping, and importation process in prayer. The team expects the Scripture dedication to take place in 2014. W believers face a lot of pressure and temptation from their own relatives as well as outsiders to participate in unwholesome behavior. Pray that believers will grow spiritually and maintain a strong witness. Ask God to use His Word in their heart language to bear much fruit. 8 BELIZE 8 UNABEL; AMERICAS (1,300) Pray for perseverance, alertness, and strength as the Unabel translation team edits Hebrews this year. They will then need to review Mark and Luke, which were approved for publication years ago. Since the mother tongue translator is needed for all of these steps, pray that he will be free enough from his community leadership responsibilities in March to join the expatriate translators in the city. Ask the Lord to direct plans to complete the revision of Mark and Luke. Lift up the local translator and his wife as they BELIZE KRIOL; BELIZE (110,000) On March 6, 2013, in St. John s Cathedral, Belize City, the Belize Kriol New Testament was dedicated before a packed audience. Praise the Lord! Representatives from the Anglican, Methodist, Seventh Day Adventist, Baptist, and Catholic churches were present, as well as the Governor General and the Minister of Education. Scripture readings, songs, and prayers were all in Kriol. The Anglican Archbishop said, It is truly a moment to give God thanks. If one could use one s imagination, I could even see Heaven smiling. An artist and radio personality said, God is good. Today is a day of rejoicing for us. I m happy. I never thought I would live to see the day. Pray that the Belize Kriol New Testament will become an integral part of life in Belize, bringing many into God s Kingdom. BORÔRO; BRAZIL (1,390) 8 BRAZIL 8 Thank the Lord the Borôro translation is making progress. The translation team hopes to finish a revision and all consultant checks of the New Testament by the end of this year. Ask God to give Keith and the Borôro translators wisdom, strength, 2

and good attention to detail as they work on the final books. Pray for Heidi as she meets with children daily to teach them the Scriptures. Pray, too, for the Borôro, that more people will respond to the truth found in God s Word. Ask God to give them victory over alcohol addiction, a significant issue among their people. JAMAMADÍ; BRAZIL (300) Expatriate translators worked hard with local speakers to start a read-through of the Jamamadí New Testament last year, but they need another visit to complete the task. Lift up the translators health in prayer as they are retired and must return to Brazil for extended visits to complete the translation. Ask God to provide keen Jamamadí speakers during their next visit so the read-through may be finished and publication preparations can begin. Pray especially for revival; many Jamamadí who once knew the Lord have fallen away and drunkenness is common. May God, through His Holy Spirit, use the translated portions they have so they will say with the prophet Jeremiah,...His word burns in my heart like a fire! (Jeremiah 20:9, NLT). KAIWÁ; BRAZIL (33,000) God is good! A draft copy of the Kaiwá Old Testament was printed last year. Pray that spiritual fruit will result as people read it and apply it to their lives. Pray for helpful input from readers while the 1986 version of the New Testament is being revised. When the revision is finished, the complete Bible will be printed in final form. The team members working on the revision live in remote villages. Pray that they will find ways to work together, and pray that the Kaiwá church will become stronger. 8 CANADA 8 ATIKAMEKW; CANADA (5,000) Rejoice! After major setbacks throughout the project, the Atikamekw New Testament was completed in late 2013. When it returns from the printer, it will be delivered to the hands and hearts of the Atikamekw. Thank the Lord for the Canadian Bible Society, which participated extensively in this project. Pray that, through the Scriptures, many Atikamekw will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18, NLT). Ask God to lead the project team to good channels of distribution. A neighboring dialect does not yet have the Scriptures, so pray that individuals will become available to assist in completing a translation into that dialect. NORTHERN EAST CREE; CANADA (8,000) Give thanks to God for steady progress last year, despite numerous interruptions. The initial revision process is complete. Pray for good community feedback this year through reading groups, spelling and concordance checking, and other prepublication preparations. Pray for the other three Northern East Cree villages to become involved and provide input. Lift up the translation team in prayer; they need guidance in determining the best way to distribute the New Testament to the four communities. Pray for continued good relationships in the team, for health and strength, and for great joy all for the glory of God! 8 CHILE 8 RAPA NUI; EASTER ISLAND, CHILE (1,500) Praise God! The Rapa Nui New Testament is nearly ready for publication. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide in the final details and inspire accuracy in the work of the typesetters and proofreaders. Pray that the 3

Catholic bishop and the Chilean Bible Society will be pleased to co-publish the New Testament. Lift up Rapa Nui speakers in prayer, asking that the fear and suspicion many have had towards the translation will turn to excited anticipation. Pray that the adults will be motivated to improve their reading skills and use the Sunday lectionary portions distributed each week. Ask God to inspire and lead the team to effective Scripture engagement strategies. occasional trips to the language area. The process of editing and consistency checks will consume most of 2014. Ask the Lord to give the team alertness and accuracy in these details. With God s help and your prayers, the manuscript will be ready to send for printing by the end of the year and a dedication held in 2015. Pray also for needed funds to complete the project. 8 COLOMBIA 8 CASSA; COLOMBIA Cassa believers have experienced great opposition, and most were forced to leave their farms. Ask God to show His power and enable the translation committee to prepare the New Testament for publication. Typesetting is scheduled for early 2014, with a dedication celebration set for the fall. Pray for unity, harmony, and good health, including the well-being of some team members aging parents. Ask the Holy Spirit to intervene in alphabet decisions so that the selected orthography will be helpful to readers. Pray, too, that the New Testament can be recorded. And finally, pray that the arrival of God s Word in printed and oral forms will spark interest in the Gospel and lead to transformed lives. 8 GUATEMALA 8 CAKCHIQUEL XENOCOJ; GUATEMALA (5,200) Praise God, the Cakchiquel Xenocoj translation was completed last year and sent for printing. Pray for safety as the New Testaments are shipped back to Guatemala. Ask God to give the Cakchiquel Xenocoj people an eagerness and joy as they plan for a Scripture celebration in early 2014. Pray that many will be transformed and grow in their love for Christ through having the Scriptures in their heart language. CHAJUL IXIL; GUATEMALA (18,000) The main advisor to the Chajul Ixil program died suddenly in 2006. Thank the Lord for gifted translators and God s provision of a new advisor, Paul. Ask God to give strength to Paul, as he had to return to the United States and is now working long-distance, making EASTERN JAKALTEK; GUATEMALA (35,000) The Eastern Jakaltek people have had the New Testament since 1998. With God s enabling, they will have the complete Bible in 2015! Ask the Lord to give good health to the translation team Eliseo, Gaspar, and Jean, who is advanced in years. Pray for diligence and wisdom as they work on final editing of the manuscript and look for errors. The team is working remotely by Skype in both Oklahoma and Guatemala. Lift up the technology in prayer, asking that it will work well. They hope to start the typesetting process this year. 8 GUYANA 8 WAPISHANA; GUYANA (6,000) Despite many setbacks, including the 2005 murder of two of the linguists involved in the Wapishana Bible 4

translation, God encouraged and strengthened the mother tongue translators and remaining linguists to finish the task. After years of growing anticipation, the Wapishana people received their New Testament on November 2, 2013! It was a joyous and memorable event. If God is for us, who can ever be against us? (Romans 8:31, NLT). Pray for God s Word to produce much fruit in Wapishana lives. 8 MEXICO 8 BLACK HILLS; MEXICO (50,000) After several years of hard work, the Black Hills translation team has completed two-thirds of the New Testament. Praise the Lord that in addition to this excellent progress, they have been able to record many New Testament portions and new worship songs so that people can listen to the Scriptures in their homes. Pray for open ears and open hearts. Ask the Lord to strengthen new believers and continue to draw more to Himself. The translation team was recently encouraged by attending a dedication celebration of a New Testament in a related language. Pray that the experience will reinvigorate their efforts as they evaluate the rest of the translated New Testament, looking forward to their completion goal in 2016. The Seed Company - www.theseedcompany.org GRASSLANDS; MEXICO (18,000) On March 23, 2013, the Grasslands New Testament was dedicated in a beautiful and joyous ceremony. From baskets carried onto the stage, Grasslands women lifted newly printed New Testaments wrapped in tortilla cloths. Look, said a program emcee, people are coming with baskets of food for our villages. A young woman carries a basket like someone who takes food to workers in the field. They bring tortillas and lots of tasty food food that gives us eternal life, enough for all. Now we can just take and eat it whenever we want. He added, We can hold God s Word in our hands. Our hunger can be satisfied, and God s Word can reach our hearts. Praise the Lord that after ten years of faithful work, the written Bread of Life has reached the Grasslands people. HUARIJÍO; MEXICO (2,500) Praise the Lord, the entire Huarijío New Testament is on the website www.scriptureearth.org. In addition, a limited number of New Testaments have been printed for distribution. More can be printed at any time via print-on-demand service providers. Lift up the Huarijío believers in prayer, that they will take ownership of distributing the New Testament and teach people how to use it. Pray for those working to complete a Huarijío dictionary, grammar appendix, and Old Testament summary portions, that they would finish these final details. Ask the Lord to use these books to show Huarijíos that their language has value. May God give them a desire to use the written and oral Scripture materials. LAS FLORES; MEXICO (5,000) The Las Flores people are so eager to receive the final copy of the Word of God in their own language that they have been using the available drafts of the New Testament as they wait. The entire New Testament was also recorded in dramatized audio form. Now the only thing that remains is the finalization of the printed text! Pray that the New Testament will be printed and arrive soon without delay, and that it will be of the highest possible quality. Praise the Lord for the impact that the mother tongue Scriptures already have in this community. The Seed Company - www.theseedcompany.org MAYO; MEXICO (40,000) Thank the Lord that two long-awaited goals have been reached the Mayo New Testament has been printed, and an audio recording was made. Ask God to lead the team to the best time and place to publicly dedicate the New Testament this year among the Mayo people. Pray that the people will read, hear, and be transformed by God s Word in their heart language. Thank the Lord for the team members who persevered through the years in spite of experiencing unusual challenges. JALAPA DE DÍAZ MAZATEC; MEXICO (24,200) Praise God that after many years of labor, the New Testament was printed and delivered to the Jalapa de Díaz Mazatec people on September 21, 2013. Pray that 5

God s Word will fall on fertile soil and the people will grow in their knowledge and love of God through it. SAN ANTONIO MAZATEC AND SAN JERÓNIMO TECÓATL MAZATEC; MEXICO (34,000) Colorful and joyous celebrations were held June 21 22, 2013, as New Testaments in these two languages were presented in the communities. Thank the Lord that they also have recorded audio versions, and that the San Antonio Mazatec have the JESUS film. Ask God to build His church through His Word. Faith Comes By Hearing - www.faithcomesbyhearing.com QUETZALTEPEC MIXE; MEXICO (6,700) Rejoice! On August 16, 2013, the Quetzaltepec Mixe received their Bible, the first whole Bible in a Mixe language. Pray that the purchased copies will soon grow old with use, resulting in transformed Mixe lives. Thank the Lord for the Bible Society of Mexico which oversaw the project. METLATÓNOC MIXTEC; MEXICO (45,000) The Metlatónoc Mixteco project has experienced significant challenges. The original translation team of five has decreased to two people. Interest in the translated Scriptures has been nominal, even among the small groups of believers that exist. Pray for perseverance and encouragement for team members Santiago and Abel. Ask God s Spirit to work in people s hearts so that between now and when the New Testament is published, many will grow in their love for Christ and see the value of having the Scriptures in their own heart language. NORTHERN TLAXIACO MIXTEC; MEXICO (14,000) The main expatriate linguist took on an additional administrative role last year, which delayed the final checking of the New Testament. The team hoped to publish the New Testament in late 2013 or early 2014. Pray for wide distribution of the Scriptures and for hearts that are eager to hear and obey God s Word. The main mother tongue Mixtec translator has begun to adapt this New Testament to a neighboring variety. Ask God to help the team overcome existing obstacles. An adaptation would enable almost half of the fourteen thousand people in the area to better understand God s Word. ZACATEPEC MIXTEC; MEXICO (6,000) Last year great progress was made on the project. The New Testament was typeset, sent to a printer in South Korea, and recorded in a multi-voice format. Pray for the printer to produce a high-quality print job, and for the books to be delivered safely, undamaged, and in a timely manner. Ask God to lead in decisions regarding the best date for the dedication during Easter week or in the fall during a town anniversary festival celebrating the use of Mixtec. Above all, pray that the Zacatepec Mixtec people will be transformed by the Holy Spirit as they interact with God s Word. ISTHMUS NAHUATL; MEXICO (20,000) The three Isthmus Nahuatl translators Plácido, Esteban, and Hilario have been faithful and committed even while battling challenges. Esteben has diabetes, and Hilario had tuberculosis as a child and gets frequent coughs. Ask God to grant them health and strength. An expatriate consultant works with them from Canada via Skype, and makes three trips per year to visit. Ask the Lord to keep the communication lines working. Pray for patience and accuracy as the translators try to please speakers of two dialects. While the dialects have only slight variations, they sometimes have important differences. Lift up in prayer the need for increased participation of pastors and others in the latter stages of checking the manuscript for naturalness and comprehension, and pray for a growing interest among the churches to use the New Testament. SAN JUAN POPOLOCA; MEXICO (4,000) This translation project is a revision of a San Juan Popoloca New Testament published in 1982 that will now be published with Psalms and Proverbs. Pray for good progress as the translation team finalizes Proverbs and prepares the manuscript for printing. They are also working on an audio version of the New Testament. Ask the Lord to watch over the recording equipment and enable the team to produce a good, clear recording. Pray that having the Psalms, Proverbs, and an audio version will 6

spark new interest in God s Word among the San Juan Popoloca. NORTHERN TEPEHUAN; MEXICO (6,200) God answered prayer! A gifted young Tepehuan university student joined the translation team last year. Even though he has limited time to offer to the project, he has proven to be a real asset. Ask God to provide additional Tepehuan speakers to help with the translation, and pray that God will be glorified in the lives of each person involved in the translation. Lift up the Tepehuan church in prayer, asking that the members will grow in love for one another. And pray that the translation team will be diligent and finish strong as the New Testament revision nears completion. New Tribes Mission - www.ntm.org SAN LUÍS POPOLOCA; MEXICO (4,730) Thank the Lord, there is more interest now in the San Luís Popoloca Scriptures than in previous years! This is very encouraging. Ask God to clear the way for the New Testament to be typeset and printed soon. Pray for alertness, strength, and joy for the translation team. An audio recording is also being produced; lift up the recording team in prayer, asking that the equipment will work well and that the readers will speak clearly. Pray that the people will love God s Word and eagerly look forward to listening to it and reading it regularly. SAN PEDRO; MEXICO (11,000) God answers prayer! The San Pedro New Testament was completed and sent to a printer last fall and a dedication is scheduled for February 22, 2014. Thank the Lord that the entire New Testament was also recorded in audio form. Pray that God s written and oral Word will fall on fertile soil and result in San Pedro people growing in their knowledge and love of Christ. Praise the Lord that one of the mother tongue translators is carrying the seed of the Word of God further and is now reaching out to neighboring groups across a language barrier. The Seed Company - www.theseedcompany.org COATECAS ALTAS ZAPOTEC; MEXICO (5,500) Rejoice! The Coatecas Altas Zapotec New Testament was presented to the people on January 12, 2014. An audio version is also available, voiced by twenty-three people who participated as readers. Pray that many Coatecanos will receive the Word of God in their own language with joy and that many will come to know the Lord. Faith Comes By Hearing - www.faithcomesbyhearing.com GUEVEA DE HUMBOLDT ZAPOTEC; MEXICO (5,720) Lift up the Guevea de Humboldt Zapotec translation team in prayer for good health, safety, and God s provision for all they need to complete the translation. They are making corrections and improvements to the final books still needing work. Later this year, they hope to begin the final readthrough by local speakers. Pray for harmony among the team members as they seek to standardize certain expressions and spellings with pronunciations that often vary significantly from speaker to speaker. Pray that they will make decisions that result in the written Word being accepted by the largest number of people in the community. SAN VICENTE ZAPOTEC; MEXICO (3,380) Thank the Lord that last year a dubbed video of the Gospel of Luke in San Vicente Zapotec was completed and a group began to record the entire 7

New Testament. Lift up the recording team, praying that voices will be clear and the equipment will work well. Ask God to give special strength to those preparing the final New Testament manuscript for printing, including the typesetters. As it is a detailed process, pray they will remain alert in their work. They plan to send the New Testament for printing by the end of the year. Pray that God s Word in audio, video, and printed forms will impact many Zapotecs, introducing them to Christ and eternal life. ARENI ZAPOTEC; MEXICO (2,900) The Yareni Zapotec translation team is working to present this revised New Testament to the community by the end of this year. Pray that God will give them success as they make decisions about the details involved in preparing it for typesetting and then printing. Ask God to protect the books as they are transported from the printer to the language area. An audio recording of the Scriptures is also being produced. Ask the Lord s Spirit to prepare hungry hearts among the people. Pray that God s Word in printed and audio forms will fall on fertile soil and produce much fruit. well the JESUS film is at last recorded in the Aché language. As the New Testament is proofread and typeset, the team is also recording the whole text with Faith Comes By Hearing for an audio Bible. It s an exciting time for the Aché people! Ask God to use these materials to lead many to salvation, and pray that His Word would take root and grow in Aché hearts. While the New Testament is crossing the finish line, the translation team members are still running as they are now drafting the rest of the Bible. Pray for these team members as they apply themselves to this important work, that their enthusiasm would be unflagging and they would focus on the eternal reward. The Seed Company - www.theseedcompany.org 8 PANAMA8 SAN BLAS KUNA; PANAMA (57,100) Praise the Lord that despite obstacles that arose last year, the Kuna Bible was typeset in the fall. Ask God to oversee the printing process and to protect the Bibles as they are shipped back to Panama and go through customs. Lift up in prayer those planning the dedication and distribution. The Kuna live on scattered islands throughout the northern coast of Panama. Transportation from island to island is costly and often dangerous, depending on the conditions of the sea. But God s Word is not chained (2 Timothy 2:9, NIV). Pray for a great harvest among the Kuna! ACHÉ; PARAGUAY (1,500) 8 PARAGUAY8 Praise the Lord that in 2013, the translation team finished checking the entire Aché New Testament. The team reached another significant milestone as MAKA; PARAGUAY (1,500) Praise the Lord! On June 2, 2013, the Maka New Testament was dedicated along with Genesis and portions of Exodus. Pray that the people will embrace the Scriptures in their language and that it will have a profound impact on the community. MANJUI; PARAGUAY (2,000) Thank the Lord that 2 Corinthians was published last year and is available to the Manjui. Ask the Lord to give keen eyes and alertness to Gordie and Nancy, the translation team, as they finish checking Hebrews and Revelation during the first half of 2014. Over the 8

latter part of the year, they will revise Acts, James, 1 2 Timothy, and 1 2 Thessalonians. They plan to finish all revisions and books by the end of the year or early 2015. Pray that the team would have perseverance, good health, and strength! Ask the Holy Spirit to draw many Manjui to the Lord as they use the Scriptures already available. New Tribes Mission - www.ntm.org 8 PERU8 ASHÉNINKA CLUSTER PROJECT PICHIS, APURUCAYALI, YURUÁ/UCAYALI, SOUTH UCAYALI, PERENÉ LANGUAGES; PERU (42,000) This cluster translation project will produce a full Bible in Pichis Ashéninka (the New Testament is a revision), as well as two revised New Testaments and two firsttime New Testaments for the other languages. The New Testaments will also include 15 percent of the Old Testament. Pray for Samuel, the primary mother tongue translator, as he divides his time between an Amazon conservation project and the translation work. Ask God to give the translators and distant colleagues in the United States consistent opportunities to maintain good communication by phone and Internet, including team meetings for two weeks out of every two months. The ability to synchronize online while using Paratext, a software program, is very important. Pray for the timely completion of the consistency and consultant checks of the Pichis Bible and the reference language for the other four translations. Also, a consistency check of the exegesis and style of translation must take place across the cluster s languages. Ask the Lord for re-established contact with mother tongue translators from the other four languages as the geographic context of several of the languages is more remote and makes contact difficult. And finally, pray for pastors to put the translations into use among their congregations. CULINA; PERU (400) Praise the Lord! After many years of efforts by multiple translation team members, the finish line is in sight. The final revision of the Culina New Testament and a read-through by local speakers was completed last year. This year the manuscript will be typeset, sent to South Korea for printing, and presented to the Culinas. Ask the Lord to give the translators and typesetters keen minds as they make final decisions on the details of how the manuscript is laid out. Pray for a quality print job and good binding that will stand up to the rigors of jungle heat. Ask the Holy Spirit to work in Culina hearts so they treasure God s Word and courageously stand up to outside influences. Pray that they will be a people whose God is the Lord (Psalm 144:15, NLT). AMBO-PASCO QUECHUA; PERU (90,000) Praise the Lord, the Ambo-Pasco Quechua New Testament is ready for a final revision of the entire text! Checks involved in this process include proper names, spelling, parallel passages, and key terms. Ask the Lord to provide good health, alertness to details, consistent electrical service, and productivity during long-distance Skype sessions between the mother tongue translators in Peru and the expatriate team in Tennessee. Pray for team members working in literacy and radio programming, that God will bless their efforts and cause the Quechuas to hunger for and read the New Testament upon its completion. EASTERN APURÍMAC QUECHUA; PERU (218,000) The long-anticipated time had come the Eastern Apurímac Quechua joyously celebrated the arrival of the New Testament in their heart language in multiple dedication events! On April 20 21, 2013, dedications were held in the provincial capital of Abancay, and a united worship service was held with all the Christian denominations in the city represented. It was a historic event. In subsequent months, eleven smaller celebrations were held in remote, outlying villages. Praise the Lord that the Quechuas can now say with the Psalmist, How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey (Psalm 119:103, NLT). 8 SURINAME8 CARIBBEAN JAVANESE; SURINAME (60,000) Lift up in prayer the translators who are adapting the Indonesia Javanese Old Testament into Caribbean Javanese. It is a complex and detailed work, but thank the Lord for a new, experienced member 9

that was added to the team last year. Pray that his participation will enhance the composition of the team and the quality of the translation. Pray also for unity, harmonious collaboration, and that they will be able to meet the goal of completing the Old Testament in 2016. Suriname Bible Society - www.surinamebiblesociety.org 8 UNITED STATES8 CROW; UNITED STATES (4,280) Ask God to bring healing to the translator s wife. Since she suffered a stroke, the translator has taken on the role of caretaker, which in turn has slowed the pace of translation. Two books still need to be checked by a translation consultant. Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible (Matthew 19:26, NLT). Your prayers are key in the completion of the Crow New Testament translation. HAWAII PIDGIN; UNITED STATES (600,000) Thank the Lord for great interest in the Hawaii Pidgin Bible project. The New Testament has been available since 2000, and has been well-received. The Old Testament project is moving along well, but the experienced Wycliffe couple on the team (ages eightythree and eighty-four) have both had setbacks in health that required them to relocate. Pray for healing and strength for them. They are continuing to work over the Internet with the local translators in Hawaii to finish up the last three books Job, Song of Songs, and Ezekiel. Pray for good Internet connections. Ask God to use the Scripture portions already available on the web to bring transformation and spiritual growth to Hawaii Pidgin speakers, most of whom live in Hawaii but are also found in communities across the continental United States. PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH; UNITED STATES/CANADA (200,000) Praise the Lord that the whole Bible was made available to Pennsylvania Dutch speakers last fall. Pray for wide distribution. In previous years, over seventeen thousand copies of the New Testament sold; there is great interest in the Scriptures. They are used mostly by individuals or in family devotions. Lift up local pastors in prayer, that they will use the Pennsylvania Dutch Bible in their churches. And pray that as people read the Bible in their heart language, they will grow in their love for God. CENTRAL SIBERIAN YUPIK; UNITED STATES/EASTERN RUSSIA (1,400) The Central Siberian Yupik translation team is working on revising the final books of the New Testament. Pray for good health, perseverance, and alert minds. Ask God to allow them good progress! The next step will be a read-through of the entire manuscript with several Yupik speakers who are unfamiliar with the text. Pray that the Lord would encourage the team and give them great joy. 10
