THE HYMN OF PRAISE 230 Lord, You Give the Great Commission ABBOT S LEIGH THE PSALTER LESSON: Psalm 104:24-35 (OT P518) THE CALL TO CONFESSION Jackson Hopper Tripp Mason THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION Lord Jesus Christ, faithful sower, you have planted only life-giving seeds of love and grace in our lives. Yet, we confess that our stubborn wills, hard hearts, and lack of wisdom make us like hard or shallow or thorny soil where the seeds cannot produce fruit. Forgive us, tend the soil of our lives, and make us more useful for your purposes. We confess also that we often fail to sow the seeds of your love and grace in our homes, neighborhoods, and world. In so doing we deprive others of the life-giving power of the gospel. Forgive us and renew in us a passion and urgency to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through our words and actions. We offer our prayers of individual and collective shortcomings in the name of Christ, our Lord. Amen.
