Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Matthew 9:36-38 From Pastor Ralph... I recently attended a seminar on exceptional churches. The speaker told us studies show that extremely effective churches demonstrate five characteristics: radical hospitality, passionate worship, intentional faith development, risk-taking mission and service, and extravagant generosity. Harvest excels in the first four, and we are growing in the fifth. This Sunday is Building for the Harvest Day, and it is an opportunity to practice extravagant generosity. On this Sunday, all of our offerings go toward building, and we ask everyone committed to Harvest to give as large an offering as you can. We are planning a new building, which will give us more teaching space, small group space, and office space. This offering will affect how soon we can begin it. When I think of the phrase extravagant giving, I think of the joy it brings us when we give extravagantly to those we love. Two people who are in love delight in giving extravagantly to each other. We love to give extravagantly to our children and grandchildren. The more we love God, the more we rejoice in giving to Him, to His people, and to His mission. And extravagant giving also increases our love for God, His people, and His mission. Jesus said, Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also, Matthew 6:21. Your heart follows your treasure. Want to love God more? Give more. God is an extravagant Giver and He wants us to become like Him. In I Chronicles 29, King David led Israel in giving an offering to build the temple in Jerusalem. He gave extravagantly, then the leaders of Israel gave extravagantly, then the people gave extravagantly. In front of all the people David prayed, But who am I, and who are my people that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from You, and we have given only what comes from Your hand... keep this desire in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you, I Chronicles 29:14, 18. Sunday is the time to lavishly pour out our love and offerings to the One who has given us everything and loves us most!

We do our best to make this trip as affordable as possible, however, there are always students whose families cannot afford this trip. Please consider sponsoring a student. A full scholarship is $140, but any amount of support would help. Contact Josh Moore at jmoore@ harvestdothan.com for more information on how to help. Page 2

Harvest Worship & Performing Arts Getting To Know Our Harvest Worship Team Featured Member: Nate Brown I was born in Hartford, Alabama and grew up in Enterprise. I moved to Dothan in 1998 but continued to attend church in Enterprise. I have been in several choirs and have served as Choir Director at my home church. I have always enjoyed listening to Gospel, Christian, and Jazz music. A few weeks ago, Pastor Ralph s message, Not Too Late, reminded me of when we first started attending Harvest Church in 2005. I was asked to be a part of the choir. My response was I can t, because I am not a member of the church. I wanted to be a church member before joining a ministry team. Several people encouraged me to enquire about serving on the Worship Team but my excuse again was I m not a member yet. My Cheryl Hidle Director of Worship wife and I were in small groups and everyone thought we were already members. The enemy had me thinking it was too late to join because I had been here for so long. After five years, I finally joined Harvest Church in 2010. I now currently serve as a member of the Worship Team, the Adult Choir, and Harvest Blend. It is my honor to serve you and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. New Songs - Be sure to check out these new songs that the Worship Team will be sharing in the weeks leading up to Easter: The Anthem by Planetshakers and Jesus Messiah by Chris Tomlin. Adult Choir - It s not too late to join the Adult Choir on Sundays from 5:15-6:15pm in room 205 in the Education Building. This Sunday the choir will begin learning a new worshipful and powerful song called Victor s Crown by Darlene Zschech. Email Cheryl at worship@harvestdothan.com for more information. To get involved, contact Cheryl Hidle, worship@harvestdothan.com or 702.6555, x247 & Performing Arts Page 3
