MARTELLO-, said he examined identification papers furnished him by OSWALD and whith OSWALD had removed from his wallet, At the conclusion. ofthe interview,.oswald was returned to his cell. Lt. At about 3:00 p.m. November 23, 1963, Lt. MARTELLO informed he was interviewed by Mr. ADRIAN G. VIAL, U. S. Ofrip_tSgryice, at the First District, as litillal-degired to secure from him any information he possessed regarding his, Lt. MARTELLO's, interview of OSWALD on August 10, 1963. At the outset'of this interview, Lt. MARTELLO- stated he secured the 'original' file folder on OSWALD and turned over to Mr. VIAL all the literature which had' been secured from OBWALD'at the time of his arrest on.august 9, 1963. Upon going through this folder, Lt. MARTELLO said he discovered. a small piece of white paper containing handwritten notes in English and in some writing which.appeared to him to be a foreign language that he could not identify and which had inadvertently become misplaced in'the,, folder following interview with OSWALD. This piece of paper was turned over to Mr. VIAL, but before doing so, Lt. MARTELLO said he made a.longhand copy of the information contained thereon. Lt. MARTELLO made available the original longhand copy of the information which he had copied from the above-described small piece of white paper which was found inthe possession of OSWALD at the time of his arrest at.new Orleans. on August 9, 1963.
