PRELUDE United Methodist Church of Antioch Fourth Sunday of Easter April 17, 2016 8:00 & 10:30 am ANNOUNCEMENTS * PASSING OF THE PEACE *HYMN Great Is Thy Faithfulness #140 red *THE CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: The promise is given that those who die for the cause of Christ enter a blessed relationship with Jesus, our Savior. People: They wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb until they are pure white Leader: They are given purity and victory because they commit themselves unselfishly to the atonement of Christ s sacrifice. People: Thanks be to God, who wipes away all tears of those who suffer and sometimes die that others may share in Christ s redemption! *OPENING PRAYER Gracious God, you have revealed your eternal truths to us, encouraging us for whatever trials our faith may bring to us. Yet we are of little faith, and hope seems too vague to convince us of total commitment. Forgive us for our passive participation and immunity to total involvement. We pray for the same commitment of the martyrs, even if that commitment does not lead us to the same death. We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen. CHILDREN S TIME HYMN Come and Find the Quiet Center #2128 black MORNING PRAYERS Silent Prayer Pastoral Prayer The Lord s Prayer OFFERTORY After this I looked, and there was a great crowd that no one could number they were standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They wore white robes and held palm branches in their hands. They cried out with a loud voice: Victory belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb. The Apostle John as recorded in Revelation 7: 9-10.

DOXOLOGY Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise him, all creatures here below; Praise him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. *PRAYER OF DEDICATION APOCALYPSE OF JOHN Revelation 7: 9-17 MINISTRY OF MUSIC My Shepherd Knows Chancel Choir *GOSPEL LESSON John 10: 22-30 This is the Word of the Lord.
