Fox, Ph.D., Professor of Pastoral Theology, was presented with the 2013 Cardinal Bernardin Award by the Catholic Common Ground Initiative of the Bernardin Center, at The American Bible Society, NYC, on June 7, 2013. Each year the Catholic Common Ground Initiative honors an individual or group who has made a unique contribution to the achievement of common ground in the Church. The honoree s work has made an impact on a significant number of people and set a precedent or example of building common ground in the Church. The recipient of the award also embodies the dialogical and consultative approach to leadership of the late Cardinal Joseph Bernardin in working towards unity in the Church. Reverend Monsignor Gerard H. McCarren, S.T.D., Associate Professor of Systematic Theology and Spiritual Director for the Seminary, was presented with the Our Lady of Guadalupe Award by The Institute for Priestly Formation, at Creighton University, Omaha, NE, on June 19, 2013. This is an annual award presented to individuals for exemplary service to the mission of the Institute for Priestly Formation. II. Speaking Engagements Zeni V. Full-day retreat, for women from Church of the Nativity, Midland Park, NJ, at Don Bosco Retreat Center, Stony Point, NY, on June 8, 2013. III. Mission and Service Reverend Monsignor Joseph R. Chapel, S.T.D., Assistant Spiritual Director for the Seminary; Associate Professor of Moral Theology; Co-Director, Institute for Christian Spirituality; and Director, Center for Diaconal Formation: o Has continued his extensive service to the impoverished of El Salvador: As Founder and Director of the El Salvador Education and Development Fund, Franklin Lakes, NJ, which provides educational scholarships for orphans and provides extensive funding for reconstruction projects for the Aldea Infantil San Antonio, San Miguel, El Salvador, traveled to El Salvador five times in 2011-2012.

5 Served as chaplain on two Mission trips: Seton Hall University DOVE Mission trip to El Salvador, during Spring Break (from March 2-9, 2013), for the tenth year. Seton Hall University FOCUS Evangelization Mission trip to San Miguel and Las Piñitas, El Salvador, during Holy Week and Easter, from March 23-31, 2013. Traveled on a private Mission trip with two brother priests to continue development of a Peace and Reconciliation Shrine, and second phase retreat center in El Mozote, El Salvador, on site of the largest massacre of the Salvadorean civil war, and to make a Mission visit to an isolated mountain parish to celebrate sacraments and to help with fundraising for building a church, from March 10-13, 2013. o Presented Preparing Children for Confession. Lecture, at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Franklin Lakes, NJ, on November 4, 2012. o For Seton Hall University FOCUS, Monsignor Chapel performed the following service in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ: Celebrated Adoration, the Sacrament of Penance/Reconciliation and Benediction, and presented Who Is the New Pope? lecture, for the Pack the Chapel series, on March 13, 2013. Celebrated the Sacrament of Penance/Reconciliation and celebrated Mass, for a Lenten program, on March 20, 2013.

6 o Served as Retreat Master for the Priesthood Ordination preparation retreat, for the Communio Sanctorum of the Misión Sacerdotal Santa Maria de la Trinidad, in Santo Domingo, Ecuador, from June 24-July 1, 2013. Dianne M. Chadwick, S.T.D., Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology, offered a St. Ann s Novena, celebrating Mass and offering a reflection on the spiritual role of grandmothers in the journey of faith, at St. Ann Parish, Hoboken, NJ, on July 19, 2012. Víctor Velarde-Mayol, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor of Philosophical Theology, presented lectures on Mutual Self-Giving in Marriage as part of a Catholic doctrine of marriage and family series for couples seeking marriage validation by the Church, at Mount Carmel Parish, New Brunswick, NJ, during Fall 2012 and Spring 2013.

7 Six faculty members of Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology served as assessors and examiners for candidates in the Pastoral Provision. These candidates are married former Anglican priests who have converted to Roman Catholicism and seek ordination as Catholic priests.
