Roles of a Prophetic Community 1 Samuel 9:1-4 [1] Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power. [2] And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people. [3] And the asses of Kish Saul's father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.[4] And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not. 1. In this passage of scripture we discover Saul who is a picture of A. The Church and the individual believer 1. Who have not yet discovered their prophetic destiny and are Wasting their anointing, gifting and life chasing donkeys or Irrelevant things a. God has more for your life then chasing Donkeys (1) God has more for your life than being a soccer mom or dad (2) God has more for your life then to spend your life in a job, Career that leads to nowhere & frustrates you (3) God has a plan for your life (a) that will bring Him glory (b) as well as bring you personal fulfillment in life (c) Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 2. Also:... Vs 3 Saul had a father

a. Who could not see his potential and not aware of the destiny of His son and sent him on non fulfilling tasks (1) this principles applies in the home with natural fathers & mothers and With spiritual fathers / mothers in the church in regards to their natural and spiritual sons and daughters (A) as spiritual fathers and mothers... Pastor goal is not for you Just to attend church... Sitting uninvolved in life & ministry (1) our goal is to help you discover God's will and plan for your Life and ministry. (2) fulfill your prophetic destiny (3) discover & tap into your spiritual gifts and talents for the Glory of God (4) same applies to parents and their children: (A) do you have your children chasing God or chasing donkeys (B) by having them pursuing the things of the world before the Things of God II. Vs 4 tells us "they found them not" A. Saul was experiencing frustration and failure... Like many believers today who are chasing donkeys 1. 1 Samuel 9:6 And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go. a. Somewhere along the way Saul had heard there was a "man of God"... A Prophet of God who could bring them guidance and Revelation... Bring them the Word of The Lord (1) The same thing is taking place today as Believers are out chasing donkeys... (A)Wasting their life and anointing on irrelevant things

(B) because they do not have revelation of their destiny (C) don't have direction (D) don't have a spiritual father / mother / or parents who can see their potential and prophetic destiny of God's plan & purpose For their life's (2) But somewhere along the line they hear there is a Prophet / Pastor at Church (A) so like Saul, they determine to come to the prophet / man / woman of God to hear the Word of The Lord / Word of God B. In the mean time God was preparing the Prophet Samuel to bring The Word of The Lord into Samuel's life 1. 1 Samuel 9:15-17 KJV [15] Now the Lord had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying, [16] To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me. [17] And when Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people. a. The man of God: (1) seen Saul's God given destiny: "to be captain over my people" (2) seen Saul's mission: "he may save my people out of the hand Of the Philistines" 2. The Prophet seen Saul as no one else did a. Samuel seen Saul's destiny Dwell (1) 1 Samuel 9:19] And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart. [20] And as for thine asses that were lost

three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father's house? (A) that is how the Prophet / (Pastor) sees each person when they come into This local church... See their potential & destiny (1) that prophetic ministry of Samuel released Saul to his destination, a journeythat he had to travel in pursuit of his God given purpose in life (2) just as prophetic ministry and or the preaching and teaching Of the Word Of God by your Pastor releases the believer Toward their destiny, a spiritual journey each believer must travel in pursuit of their God given destination 3. Saul would need help along the way / be in need of further Ministry in his journey through life in order to fulfill his prophetic word a. Even though Samuel seen and Prophesied to Saul of his destiny... Saul could not grasp all God had in store for him (a) 1 Samuel 9:21 And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me? (1) even though the Prophet brought activation to the first dimension of the Anointing into Saul's life in regards to his destiny (2) Saul was still had the wrong mindset / he still had issues in his life that needed ministered to (a) even though he had his prophetic word he was in need of receiving more ministry and more dimensions of the anointing before he Would be ready to walk into the fullness his destiny (3) we mistakenly think that when people get their prophetic

Word or come to the altar and get ministered to / they attended church (A) that everything is going to OK & they are on their way In fulfilling their God given destiny in life C. So, Samuel prophecies of another group of people coming to Saul To help him become what God called him to be: 1 Samuel 10:3 Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Beth el, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine: [4] And they will salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread; which thou shalt receive of their hands..."receive of their hands" 1. After Samuel anoints and prophecies over Saul: a. We see a prophetic picture of Body Ministry that The Prophet prophecies that Saul was in need of and was Commanded to receive (1) Three men carrying three loaves (A) three kids: meat to eat: representing meat of word & doing The will of God (1) Jesus said my meat is to do the will of him that sent me (B) the loaves bread are a prophetic picture of the Word of God / truths from God's Word Saul needed to eat in order to become whom God had called him to be & do (C) bottle of wine is a prophetic picture of another realm of the Holy Spirit / the Joy of The Lord that brings us strength, which Saul needed to drink of in order to fulfill his destiny (1) these three men are a picture of you:the Body Of Christ / members of this Local Church (A) carrying a loaf of bread... Revelation... Teaching that Instructs those just ministered to by the prophet / pastor in

helping Prepare them for their destiny (B) bottle of wine is the joy of the Holy Spirit in you to give for those to Drink who will need more spiritual strength for their Journey thru life toward their destiny (C) bringing a kid / goat / meat... Help them to surrender to the will of God for their life (1) Note: this time of ministry did not take place in the temple... Or we could say in a church service (2) This time of ministry took place as Saul was on his journey, Traveling down the road of life D. 1 Samuel 10:5 After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tablet, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy: 1. This is another prophetic picture of Body Ministry... Each of these Prophets carried an instrument which is a type and shadow of Gifts and anointing in their life... That would minister to Saul & contribute in helping Saul become whom God called him to be a. Paltry: type of string dulcimer type instrument... Which release a Anointing for worship and the Song of the Lord / teaching Saul the importance of being a worshipper b. Tabret: / Tambourine /,that would help Saul keep in step... Stay in beat with the seasons of God for his life and ministry c. Pipe: a wind instrument... Help Saul follow the leading of the Holy Spirit & the winds of the Spirit as they would blow in his life and ministry d. Harp: the instrument that rested & was placed near the heart... This anointing was to help Saul stay close to the heart of

God and develop intimacy in their relationship with God E.1 Samuel 10:6 And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man. [7] And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee. 1 Samuel 10:9 KJVAnd it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day. 1. Note: it took all the dimensions of these various gifts and anointing Impacting Saul's life in order for him to a. "Be turned into another man" (1) the man God had called him to be 2. When The Prophet ministered to Saul: a. Vs 8 when Saul turned to leave The Prophet Samuel (1) " God gave him another Heart" (A) a heart for God's destiny for his life b. But Saul was not "turned into another man" until after he Received Body Ministry / helping bring the needed change in Other areas of his life III. We mistakenly think that our church services alone Being a part of the praise & worship and receiving a prophetic Word from the prophet... Hearing the Pastor preach... Get hands laid upon them at the altar call is all people need to walk in victory & for people to be able to walk into their God given destiny A. They like Saul may have "another heart" hungry for the things of God

1. But they not yet been "turned into another man" in order to Fulfill their destiny B. When in reality each stage of ministry are just part of the process: 1. In Making the individual whom God has called him to be 2. And training the individual to do what God has called them to do a. No one part of the process and encounter of the anointing is Sufficient in itself... It takes all of these encounters with God and Various means of being ministered to (1) to break unbiblical mindsets & overcome issue in lives of people B. Proof of this is seen in: 1 Samuel 10:21-23 KJV [21] When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found. [22] Therefore they enquired of the Lord further, if the man should yet come thither. And the Lord answered, Behold, he hath hid himself among the stuff. 1. Even though Saul a. Was prophesied over by the Prophet Samuel b. Even though he partook of some Body Ministry (1) Ate the bread / word / revelation (2) drank of the wine of the Spirit (3) Received the kids / goats / meat of the will of God for their life (3) Was ministered to by the prophetic mantles, gifting & anointing of the harp, Paltry, tambret and pipe (4) Saul still had issues in his life that was holding him back from entering into his destiny (A) when Saul should have been stepping up to lead God's People as King: (B) he was nowhere to be found

(C) instead the bible says: 1 Samuel 10:22 "he hath hid himself among the stuff." / baggage (1) Saul was hiding behind the stuff / baggage / his issues (2) same exact pattern happens in our churches... People Received their word from God... Get ministered to at the altar... (a) but are still hiding behind Their stuff / their baggage they accumulated in life / Hiding behind their issues: (whatever those issues may be) 2. The Key: 1 Samuel 10:23 And they ran and fetched him thence: a. Someone needs to run in amongst their stuff and bring them out (1) another prophetic picture of the importance of Body Ministry Doing their part in helping bring people into their destiny (2) Someone is going to have the take the time... Beyond a church service... Beyond a bible study... Beyond Sunday School... (A) and run in among the stuff,,, baggage... Issues that People are hiding in: (1) run in amongst the stuff of a bad marriage (a) teach wives how to love their husband (b) teach men how to lay down their life for their bride as Christ has done for His bride: the church (c) teach young parents on how to raise their children & Deal with their unruly teen anger & be that example according to God's word (2) run in among the stuff of addiction... Be it rugs, alcohol, Pornography (3) run in among the stuff of financial ruin & teach people Financial principles (4) run in among the stuff of their sin that defeats them (B) can we each see the importance of each phase of ministry

And anointing necessary to not just activate but also bring People into their destiny C. What is your part? 1. We have a prophet / pastor in the house a. Word of God is being taught & preached b. We have a praise & worship team ushering in God's presence I to our church services 2. But, do we have anyone bringing the goat & bread... Taking time to teach Someone key biblical principles so they can do the will of God A. Bring them the wine: helping bring Joy and healing into their life 3. Do we have anyone playing the Psaltry teaching them how to Worship and flow in and hear the Song of The Lord 4. Do we have anyone bring the Tabret teaching them to stay in Step with the seasons of God 5. Do we have anyone bringing them the Pipe / flute / releasing the Winds of the Holy Spirit into their life 6. Do we have anyone bringing the harp and teaching the to stay Close to the heart of God and develop an intimate relationship With The Lord a. In the church service and also one on one (1) this requires Body Ministry (2) this requires your gifting, anointing, life and time in order to Bring people out from the stuff that they are hiding behind & holding them back from their God given destiny D. Do we have anyone here today who is willing to Vs 23 "to run in amongst their stuff and bring them out" 1. Isa 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

a. Are you willing to say to The Lord: Send Me 2. Maybe you are hiding among the stuff today a. Philippians 2:21 "For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's." (1) time to take a step of faith out from your stuff
