Funeral Service - 15 While it is appointed that the folloing troparia (Idiomela), by St. John of Damascus, are to be chanted (stichiraric style), it is customary that the first seven are simply read by the Reader. Tone I. What earthly seetness remaineth unmixed ith grief? What glory standeth immutable on earth? All things are but feeble shados, all things are most deluding dreams: yet one moment only, and Death shall supplant them all. But in the light of thy countenance, Christ, and in the seetness of thy beauty, give rest unto him hom thou hast chosen: forasmuch as thou lovest mankind. Tone II. Woe is me!
