He added that this occasion was an opportunity for communication, coherence and fostering ties between the Higher Management and the Company employees, as well as with Contractors working on KOC projects. Inauguration Of A New Building For Dental Care At AH Hashem: We Strive To Provide Better Health Services CEO Hashem S. Hashem inaugurated the 1st phase of the new building of the Dental Care Services at the Ahmadi Hospital. The building comprises 18 clinics equipped with the latest and cutting-edge tools in this field. In a speech he delivered on this occasion, Hashem hailed the high standard of the available equipment and affirmed KOC s eagerness to provide its staff and the oil sector employees in general with the best health services, based on its belief that human resources are the most important investment to which priority is always accorded. He urged the concerned parties to conclude the 2nd phase of the project on the agreed-upon time of 18 months and asserted that the KOC Management will spare no efforts to provide every possible means in order to enhance the medical care services for the benefit of employees and their families. DCEO for Administrative & Financial Affairs Saad Rashed Al-Azmi that the KOC Management strongly supports the improvement of the Ahmadi Hospital services and will continue to provide it with the best medical and nursing staff, in addition to the most modern equipment. Al-Azmi added that this comes within the framework of a health care package comprising an advanced Health Insurance system in addition to a close follow-up of the treatment. 2
Higher Management Visited Ahmadi Hospital s Patients To Congratulate Them On Blessed Adha Eid On behalf of CEO Hashem S. Hashem, DCEO (Planning & Gas) Menahi Al-Enezi visited Ahmadi Hospital patients on the 2nd Day of Eid Al-Adha to congratulate them on this blessed occasion. Al-Enezi told Energy Newsletter that such visit was a longtime custom in KOC to be reassured about patients status in celebrations and national occasions, to congratulate them and to present them with gifts. He added that this sort of visits leave patients with good feelings and reflects the Management s eagerness to remain in contact with them in religious, national and different events and enhance their morals. Al-Enezi reiterated the Company s continuous keenness to provide the best Ahmadi Hospital services to patients and the latest medical equipment and specialised doctors in all domains. Al-Enezi was accompanied during the visit by a number of CEO Deputies, Ahmadi Hospital Manager Dr. Imad Al-Awad, and a number of medical, nursing and administrative bodies. 3
KOC has recently organized a ceremony to honor the employees children who won the first places in the Holy Quran and cultural contests held during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative, which was run by a number of panelists, was also attended by the parents of the honorees. DCEO for Corporate Services Ismail Abdulla said in his speech that This was one of the biggest and dearest events, due to its association with the Holy Quran, the eternal light and the way that guides our steps. KOC remains very keen to enhance the values of faith and sacrifice throughout the society and among its employees and especially members of their families. Therefore, the Company spares no effort in continuously organizing and sponsoring activities serving these tendencies all the year round he added. Abdulla went on affirming that As we commend our girls and boys who won the Holy Quran Memorizing Contest, we need to, first and foremost, hail their parents, without whose care, the children would not have been able to deliver such achievements. Organised By The Financial Support Group Overview of Global Methane Initiative The Financial Support Group organised a workshop for the Financial Accounts & Services Group about ways and means of getting rid of job stress. During the workshop, Dr. Suad Al-Bishr, from the Thawabet Centre conducted a presentation amid a tangible interaction by the attendance on the following topics: A general access to the job stress concept. Life experiences and job stress. Defining stress indicators and their impact on the Physiological side of the body. The personality and its relation with stress. The efforts by Planning Coordinator (Financial Accounts) Maha Al-Hajri were also appreciated in making of the workshop, with the distinguished friendly and interactive atmosphere by all the employees, a real success. Korean Delegation Visited Display Center, Kuwait Oasis Its President Expressed Satisfaction, Impression The Director General of the Global Economic Affairs Bureau of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Korea, Yun Kanghyeon, labeled his recent visit with his accompanying delegation to the KOC Display Center, Ahmadi City, as successful and impressive. On his side, DCEO for Corporate Services Ismael Abdullah welcomed the Korean guest, with whom he exchanged cordial talks and the current cooperation between both countries, and especially on environment matters, which the guest said were an essential part of his concern. The program of the visit of the Korean guest comprised a tour to the environmental project of Kuwait Oasis, where he expressed admiration towards KOC efforts in this respect. Yun Kanghyeon was leading a delegation composed of about 30 persons representing the Korean Ministry of Environment, the Korean Institute for Industry & Technology and 12 companies of different specializations. The Korean delegation tour to the region comprised a two-day official visit to the State of Kuwait, in addition to a visit to the state of Qatar. 5
KOC Appoints Former Employees to Oil Sector Services According To KPC Plan, Company Need KOC began procedures to appoint 758 persons transferred from the Oil Sector Services Company (OSSC) in the aftermath of a recent decision to dissolve it. DCEO for Administrative & Financial Affairs and Official KOC Spokesman Saad Rashed Al-Azmi said that the first batch of employees was limited to Security and Firefighting staff and that another group of different specializations will follow. Al-Azmi affirmed KOC s eagerness to embed former OSSC personnel, based on the need and domains available in the Company and in respect of the KPC s adopted plan for their distribution to oil companies. The appointment procedures and contracts-signing for their recruitment are facilitated according to the fulfillment of KOC employment conditions and requirements Al-Azmi stated. Landfill Facilities For Hydrocarbon Contaminated Soil New Contract Between KOC And Al-Baddah Co. A contract have been signed between KOC and Naser Mohammad Al- Baddah & Partner for General Trading & Contracting Company charging the latter with building landfill facilities for Hydrocarbon contaminated soil (Group A). The contract was signed for KOC by SEO Hashem S. Hashem and for the contracting company by its Chairman Naser Al-Baddah. The contract-signing ceremony was attended by a number of senior officials from both sides. The contract was signed in respect of the Environmental Rehabilitation Program Under United Nations Legislation For Indemnification. Soil Remediation TL (Projects 2) Faris Al-Mansouri told Energy that the Contract was highly important for soil remediation in S&EK Directorate and the interest accorded to the Program within the State of Kuwait. Al-Mansouri labeled the project as a good starting for the implementation of soil remediation and a key milestone for the development of the KERP and wished the new partners success within the HSE and time-bound expectations in order for the KERP (Kuwait Environmental Remediation Program) to achieve its desired objectives. 6
Entertainment Festival For Employees Children 2nd, 3rd Adha Eid Days At Hubara Club, Unity Centre The Ahmadi Services Team organised an entertainment festival for children on the 2nd and 3rd days of Eid Al-Adha. Held on two consecutive nights at the Hubara Club and the Unity Centre, the festival gathered employees, families and children in a joyful atmosphere. A number of entertainment contests for minors and adults were organised and gifts and prizes were awarded to the children, who also enjoyed sharing their parents the Adha celebration. A buffet dinner party was thrown with a folkloric band, an animator, and cartoon characters taking part in the event, in addition to faces decorations and drawings.
