LIVING OUR FAITH Dear Friends, Our Carmel Fest last weekend was a huge, sell-out success thanks to your support and the excellent planning and supervision by Kimberly Chmielewski and Celeste Iacompo. We owe a great deal of gratitude to Almighty God who gave us the very best possible weather. All was cleaned up with a great sense of camaraderie, and we were all home before dark. What more could we possibly ask? I want to give a big welcome to David VanCampen, our new music director and to Jodie, his wonderful wife. Both of them moved into our music facility and rolled up their sleeves to do the usual cleaning up and reorganizing that comes with a change of leadership. David has a wonderful touch to his musicianship, a very nice voice and the kind of enthusiasm that is refreshing and promising for a great music program. He is also very sensitive to the legacy that David Langevin leaves behind and is working hard to learn the songs and Masses that we are familiar with. Don t be surprised however when he starts to teach us some new Mass parts. Finally, I received some good news this week from the provincial of the Carmelites. Father Richard Supple, O.Carm. will be joining us in January as Pastoral Associate, subject to the bishop s approval. I will be so glad to have a Carmelite companion and community prayer life more conducive to our Carmelite vocation. Living alone can get very lonely as many of you know. You will like Father Richard. He has a lot of pastoral and leadership experience, is much younger than I and has a wonderful voice. He is a priest whose ministry has been marked by generous service and a friendly, welcoming manner that will fit right in to our community. He will also bring us some more creative ideas of how to add to our present ministries and activities. This is an exceptional parish marked by generous, service minded people and the gift of five priests, unheard of in this day and age, who bring a career of learning and pastoral experience to our altar and pulpit every Sunday. We are blessed! Blessings, Fr. Fred TWITTER@PONTIFEX The Pope Tweets.. 11/04/2013 - I thank all missionaries, men and women who quietly work hard for the Lord and their brothers and sisters. 10/31/2013 - Christians know how to face difficulties, trials and defeat with serenity and hope in the Lord.
