We whom He indwells and fills yield our hearts and minds and wills. We, the Church, affirm our faith in the Triune God of grace; kingdoms fall and ages change; faithful, changeless God remains! F O C U S O N Messy CHurch July 10, 2016 Since March, a new intergenerational worship experience called Messy Church has met the second Saturday of every month. Children, families, and adults of all ages participate in this worship experience, as lessons of God s love are expressed through crafts, activities, story and a shared meal. Each month there s a new theme to explore - some past themes have been Foot Prints - Following Jesus, New Life, Family, and Light. This month s theme is Healthy Bodies, Healthy Souls. We asked some participants of Messy Church their thoughts about the worship: I enjoyed Messy Church immensely. It was a great way to worship as well as have a fun afternoon with my son. The activities were enjoyable, cleverly themed, and the songs and worship were light and meaningful. I look forward to the time I can go again. Witney Seibold Messy Church is what community is all about. There was only love for the kids and caretakers and the activities were so thoughtful. It was joyous to be together as a group. Nina Perales A few weeks ago Rev. English told me he could really use some photographs of what is going on in Messy Church. I said yes, not knowing what I was getting into. Anyway, there I was in Simkins Hall with all those families with small children, a beehive of various activities. Some messy and some not so messy. After about 40 minutes the kids lined up at the hallway leading to the Chapel. The hall had became a giant spider web they had to crawl through to get to the next event in the Chapel. Here everyone gathered to stand, sing, clap and wave hands to live music... then prayers and a lesson about trust from Rev. Robert. One by one each child was led back into Simkins Hall for family dinner and dessert together. It was a great time, full of energy and fun. Oh yes, I got a few pictures for Rev. Robert as well!
