We gather in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen Confession and Forgiveness The earth is the Lord s and all that is in it, the world and those who live in it. (Psalm 24:1) Lord forgive us for believing that it all belongs to us. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor. 9:7) Lord forgive us when we are less than enthusiastic about sharing the multitude of blessings that you shower upon us each and every day. Then Jesus said to them, Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions. (Luke 12:15) Lord forgive us for succumbing to the culture s message of always wanting and needing more. Hear the good news. By Jesus death and resurrection we are forgiven and through the waters of baptism we are born new. Let us live in that promise and trust that God s daily bread and grace will be sufficient for the coming days. And all God s people said: Amen 3

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. Prayer of the Day Good and gracious God, we give you thanks for the blessings of life; for being there in the midst of the multitude of good times and walking perhaps closer than we will ever fully realize during the difficult times. You are the giver and sustainer of life, and we are forever grateful. Amen Anthem 9:00 Be Strong Sandy Wilkinsen Celebration Singers 10:30 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego arr. Joseph M. Martin Middle School Choir Lesson 2 Corinthians 8:1-7 We want you to know, brothers and sisters, about the grace of God that has been granted to the churches of Macedonia; for during a severe ordeal of affliction, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. For, as I can testify, they voluntarily gave according to their means, and even beyond their means, begging us earnestly for the privilege of sharing in this ministry to the saints and this, not merely as we expected; they gave themselves first to the Lord and, by the will of God, to us, so that we might urge Titus that, as he had already made a beginning, so he should also complete this generous undertaking among you. Now as you excel in everything in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in utmost eagerness, and in our love for you so we want you to excel also in this generous undertaking. *** We welcome children to Dock Children s Education at this time.*** Ensure your child is wearing a nametag with name and grade level. See front of yellow bulletin insert for pickup locations. 5

Holy Gospel Luke 19:1-10 All (sung): Glory to you, O Lord. Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through it. A man was there named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was rich. He was trying to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was short in stature. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see him, because he was going to pass that way. When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, Zacchaeus, hurry and come down; for I must stay at your house today. So he hurried down and was happy to welcome him. All who saw it began to grumble and said, He has gone to be the guest of one who is a sinner. Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, Look, half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor; and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as much. Then Jesus said to him, Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost. The Gospel of the Lord.
