Page Three St. Charles Borromeo Church September 23, 2018 From the Desk of Padre José.. Today we hear from St. Mark reminding us that: If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all. Taking a child, he placed it in their midst, and putting his arms around it, he said to them, Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but the One who sent me. Let us not forget that putting others first is what the Lord is calling us to do. As we continue our journey in faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus, let us follow this example in our lives. May others be first and for sure may others be aware that no matter who they are for the world, for us Christians they will be first. I pray the Lord may continue to grant us the wisdom to know and appreciate others for who they are and may we lift them up always placing them before us as Christ does and teaches us. Please be assured of my prayers for you and let us continue reminding us that character matters and do the small things to appreciate others being first. Fraternally, Fr.

Page Five St. Charles Borromeo Church September 23, 2018 Safeguard the Children REPORTING ABUSE/MISCONDUCT It is important to communicate your concerns if you observe anyone interacting with a child in an inappropriate manner. Parents, family members, teachers, clergy and all who work with or are responsible for the care of children need to remember that speaking up is one of the most important things they can do to protect not just their own children, but all children. Voicing your concerns is critical to protecting God s children. Any incident of abuse or misconduct should be immediately reported. For a copy of the complete VIRTUS article, Are We Communicating our Concerns?, please visit http://www.la-archdiocese.org/org/protecting/pages/virtus-current-online-articles.aspx. Are We Communicating our Concerns?
