Steve Baldry steve.baldry@cogeco.ca Cell: (905) 536-0640 Director of Music: Gerald Smink Director of Children s & Youth Ministry: Christina McCarthy WELCOME TO MACNAB! Thank you for taking the time to worship this morning at MacNab. If you are a first-time visitor, please plan to join us following the service for coffee in Johnston Hall - when you exit the sanctuary, turn left and follow the aroma! If you have children, they are invited to join Christina at the front part way through our service for our children s time which will feature a short lesson. Following this, children will go to KidZone (takes place in the Parlour). Children will re-enter the Sanctuary at the POSTLUDE. Parents: please pick up your child at the front of the sanctuary front pews by the piano as soon as POSTLUDE is completed. We also ask that (except for CHILDREN S TIME AND KidZone ) you keep your child in your care (never wandering unsupervised), including accompanying them to the washroom if the need arises. Infants are most welcome to remain with parents throughout the service - and fussing babies are music to our ears and a sign of a healthy growing church! Change tables are located in both the ladies and men s washrooms adjacent to Johnston Hall. Ushers can direct you. If you are looking for a church, you are invited to consider making MacNab your church home. There are visitor cards in the pew rack - if you wish to fill one out, simply drop it on the offering plate later in the service. Hearing assistance is also available. Ushers will be happy to assist with any questions. Thanks again for coming!

"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." At least according to Albert Einstein. Imagine that you are a scientist, dealing with facts and evidence. After years of education and training, would you be able to look past everything you've been taught to believe in something that you couldn't definitively prove? That was the situation facing our guest speaker, Dr. Luke Janssen. As a medical research professor at McMaster University, Luke found himself at a crossroads: "As a university professor doing medical research around the corner at St. Joseph s Hospital, how can I still think there s a place for religion and belief in today s 21st century society? Evolution versus Creation: really? Don t all the facts point toward atheism? Hasn t science done away with the need to believe in a God? Actually, you re right: I found it did. But then science brought me back to a belief in God." Join us as Dr. Janssen shares his personal and enlightening story of how he rediscovered God through science. Join us at MacNab in Johnston Hall Wednesday, October 24, 7-8 p.m.
