THIS IS LIFE LESSON 8 HANDOUT 1 Samuel 13:14 But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him ruler of his people, because you have not kept the LORD's command." John 10:10 (AMP) 10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). Philippians 3:5 6 (NLT) 5 I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law. 6 I was so zealous that I harshly persecuted the church. And as for righteousness, I obeyed the law without fault. Acts 8:1 3 1 Saul was in hearty agreement with putting him to death 3 But Saul began ravaging the church, entering house after house, and dragging off men and women, he would put them in prison. Romans 7:15 25 (NASB95) 15 For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate. 16 But if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree with the Law, confessing that the Law is good. 17 So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me. 1
18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. 19 For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin. Matthew 20:30 34 (AMP) 30 And behold, two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, Lord, have pity and mercy on us, [You] Son of David! 32 And Jesus stopped and called them, and asked, What do you want Me to do for you? 33 They answered Him, Lord, we want our eyes to be opened! 34 And Jesus, in pity, touched their eyes; and instantly they received their sight and followed Him. Philippians 3:13 14 (AMP) 13 I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. 2

Psalm 103:12 (AMP) 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. 2 Samuel 3 (NASB95) 1 Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David; and David grew steadily stronger, but the house of Saul grew weaker continually. 2 Sons were born to David in Hebron: His firstborn was Amnon the son of Ahinoam of Jezreel; 3 his second, Kileab the son of Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel; the third, Absalom the son of Maacah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur; 4
4 the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital; 5 and the sixth, Ithream the son of David s wife Eglah. These were born to David in Hebron. Genesis 2:18 25 18 The LORD God said, It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. 24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. 5
1 Timothy 3:2 2 Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife 1 Corinthians 7:2 2 But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. Genesis 4:19 19 Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah. Exodus 20: You shall not commit adultery. You shall not covet your neighbor s house; you shall not covet your neighbor s wife Deuteronomy 21:15 16 15 If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons but the firstborn is the son of the wife he does not love, 16 when he wills his property to his sons, he must not give the rights of the firstborn to the son of the wife he loves in preference to his actual firstborn, the son of the wife he does not love. Genesis 16:3 3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. 1 Samuel 1:1 6 1 There was a certain man whose name was Elkanah 2 He had two wives; one was called Hannah and the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had none. 6
6 And because the LORD had closed her womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her. Deuteronomy 17:17 17 He shall not multiply wives for himself, or else his heart will turn away; nor shall he greatly increase silver and gold for himself. Luke 11:28 But He said, Blessed (happy and to be envied) rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey and practice it! Matthew 7:24 24 So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock. 7
