M : We are continuing to discern what our partnership with the MB churches in Ukraine might look like. We have one specific consideration. Will you join us in praying for at least one person FROM KING ROAD to serve with MB Missions Trek Program in the Ukraine (September 2018-June 2019)? We again want to host German Trekkers (August 30 - September 9). We are looking for homes to host two couples, plus three single young adults. Please contact Janessa Wall to serve in this way. 5. MCC is in need of a home-stay in Abbotsford from September 2018-July 2019 for 27-year old Raul from Brazil. He speaks Portuguese as well as limited Spanish and English and is looking for a family to stay with while serving with MCC as a part of a program called IVEP. We are also looking for a cultural mentor(s) who would help him get used to Canadian culture and be established in Christian Fellowship while in Canada. A basic hosting allowance is available. If you are interested in hosting Raul, please talk to Vanessa Warkentin. 6. T thanks you for the donation of a lawn mower and weed eater for the Donikian family! 7. TREK C 2018. Please consider serving at TREK Camp this year. Set-up date is July 7 and take down is July 28. June 3, 2018 Community Announcements 1. Mennonite Disaster Service volunteer opportunity in Williams Lake, BC. Fires in central BC in 2017 destroyed thousands of acres of forest as well as many homes. Come volunteer in your own province. On May 20, MDS will begin rebuilding in the community and we need volunteers. For more information or to volunteer contact Ben Wall, or go to mds.mennonite.net or phone 866-261-1274. 2. We Are Neighbors: MCC is hosting an event on Saturday, June 23 from 1pm-4pm at Mill Lake Park to celebrate both World Refugee Day and National Indigenous Peoples Day. Pack a picnic and stop by for an afternoon of celebration I ncluding: dancing, singing and storytelling from newcomer and Indigenous groups; an artisan and craft market; family-friendly activities and concession by Marketplace by MCC CE. Tabor Home Society is holding its 58th Annual General Meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Tabor Village Chapel at Tabor Court, 31954 Sunrise Crescent, Abbotsford. There will be two Special Resolutions presented at the meeting. Copies of the Special Resolutions are available for viewing at www.taborvillage.org. All members of this congregation are members of Tabor Home Society and are invited to attend the Tabor Home Society Annual General Meeting. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. 4. MEI International Department is looking for families to host students from Japan and China this summer. July 18-31: Meiji program Japanese jr. high and high school students. Classes will run 9 a.m. 4 p.m. in the MEI Middle School. The payment for hosting two students is $910. We are still looking for homestays to host male students or to be backup families for male and female students. July 18 29: Kokugakuin program Japanese high school students. Classes will run 9 a.m 4 p.m. in the MEI Secondary School. The payment for hosting two students is $770. We are looking for MANY homestay families to host male or female students; this program will include over 100 students!

MB Mission Prayer Requests: June 17: Johanna Neudorf, MB Mission in Germany. Pray for: J, a young Syrian woman, that she would meet Jesus as she read the Bible and seeks to answer question that she has because of her Catholic background. Pray also for A, a young Afghan man who has become a devoted follower of Jesus, that a godly man could be found to mentor him in his own language and that he would experience God s leading in his life. Pray for guidance and strength as Johanna prepares to leave for my first home assigment, from July to September. June 24: Joanna Pharazyn, MB Mission in Portugal. Pray for: the follow-up and for protection of the seeds planted in the hundreds who made decisions to follow Jesus. Continue to pray for the unity of the Church in Portugal, that God s people would walk in forgiveness and love. Pray for the leaders of the church families. Exhaustion is real.
