Perfect King and Eternal Priest

John 5:39 (ESV) You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me.

The perfect king Our eternal priest The Messiah is...

Psalm 110 (ESV) A Psalm of David. 1 The Lord says to my Lord: Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool. 2 The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies!

Psalm 110 (ESV) 3 Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power, in holy garments; from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours. 4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Sin Christ defeated... Matt. 1:21: he will save his people from their sins.

Death Christ defeated... 1 Cor. 15:25-26: For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 1 Cor. 15:52: the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

Jesus is Lord! Cosmic Lordship: The King is Adonai the Lord God. Personal Lordship: We should obey him as our king.

2. Christ is our Eternal Priest Psalm 110:4: The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind, You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Genesis 14:18: Melchizedek was a priest of the most high God and king of Salem

2. Christ is our Eternal Priest Jesus death on the cross paid for our sins. Hebrews 9:26: He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

2. Christ is our Eternal Priest He intercedes for every believer before God the Father. Hebrews 7:25: he always lives to make intercession for us.

2. Christ is our Eternal Priest Hebrews 10:10-14: We have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.

Philippians 2:10-11 (ESV) at the name of Jesus every knee will bow,... 11 and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
