Items most needed include dark colored bath and hand towels (lightweight towels are acceptable), toothbrushes, infant onesies (3-9 months), and fingernail clippers. COMMITMENT SUNDAY Will be next Sunday, October 8, 2017. This year we will have a combined emphasis on one Sunday of how we commit our time, talents, and resources to further God s work on this earth. Since God created earth and all life upon this Earth, we will recognize our role as tenants of this creation. We are not the owners of, but have been entrusted with resources and the care of everything - creation, gifts and talents, money, time, the gospel for the sake of God's purposes in the world. SAVE THIS DATE November 19, 2017 as Faith Mennonite Church, in partnership with Western District Conference (MCUSA), MCC Central States and Bethel College Campus Ministries is sponsors the Kansas premier production of DISCOVERY: A Comic Lament produced by Ted & Co. TheaterWorks. This is a play about the Doctrine of Discovery, the legal framework that justifies theft of land and oppression of Indigenous Peoples. It finds unexpected humor at the crossroads of justice, land use, and indigenous experience and nudges us to question our stories with honesty and integrity. Several scenes in the show have their roots in Kansas locations. Faith Church s participation in this event is made possible by the New Initiatives Fund our congregation created earlier this year. MCC urgently seeks a volunteer that is at least 21 years old to work with the meat canner! Truck driving skills are ideal, but MCC is willing to provide training as well. The meat canning season starts up in October, please help MCC fill this vital need. For more information, please contact John H.
