Bismiallah 29 th May 2012 HADITH 13 class 1 Abu Hamzah Anas bin Malik, radiyallahu 'anhu, who was the servant of the Messenger of Allah, reported that the Prophet said: "None of you truly believes (in Allah and in His religion) until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself."[al- -Bukhari&Muslim] Hadith 12 last week was about our ISLAM. how to check if it is PERFECT OR NOT Today is about OUR FAITH. Is my EMAAN PERFECT or not? this Hadith is related by ANAS raliallahu anhu and his kuniya is ABU HAMZAH He was prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam s servant This hadith is the FOUNDATION of social life. In our religion we have Quran, Aqeedah, NAMES of Allah, seerah, fiqh, Hadith etc all of these help us in different ways This Hadith helps us with PEOPLE AND OUR DEALING WITH THEM. We all want our social life to be smooth and easy. We cannot say my duty is only ء ا وا و وا ٱ ت believe [in the Oneness of Allâh and in His Messenger (Muhammad SAW)] and work deeds of righteousness we cannot say I don t care about people only myself We have to move with others and for this I need my surrounding to be good. And for this my relation with people should be good
Each believer has a degree of faith. Everyone is not of the same level of faith. Surah Al Anaam 6: v 132 و ل د ر ت وا و ر &)ك & % $ ل "! ون For all there will be degrees (or ranks) according to what they did. And your Lord is not unaware of what they do. (132 ل means all of us have DARAJAATH - a degree/ levels For EMAAN (faith) sometimes EVEN small things may elevate you and likewise reduce your faith Mu minoon have different degrees Hadith Faith has over seventy branches or over sixty branches, the most excellent of which is the declaration that there is no God but Allah and the humblest of which is the removal of what is injurious from the path; and modesty is a branch of faith. Muslim Minimum is while on the path of Islam to remove something harmful on it.if I don t do this my faith is very low. Hadith 13 today says To understand this first we should know Believers are GENERALLY of two types 1 st AL EMAAN AL WAAJIB those doing the minimum- only what is obligatory The Minimum of even the obligatory deeds is NOT TO ASSOCIATE WITH Allah 2 nd AL EMAAN AL MUSTHAHABB emaan which is higher or better This can be explained like when you have an exam EX- there will be some people who passed and some who failed Amongst the ones who passed we say some passed with HIGHER marks while some passed just barely Some schools grade and say A,A+, A- B B+ B- C etc and there is a minimum required to pass and NOT fail FAITH is same Emaan al waajib means the minimum to pass an be a MUSLIM. If you don t have this YOU are not muslim. Musthahab means the best level This Hadith talks about MUSTHAHABB means not that you don t have faith but the faith is not complete So if you want your belief to be perfect you will do this. we hear people VERY often saying AL EMAAN AL QALB- my belief is in my heart
but this is not the case. there HAS to be an ACTION. Minimum the waajib. And the BEST is the Musthahabb If u want your faith to be complete but remember at the same time WHEN/ IF your faith is complete never feel proud and say ME ME ME I did it it is all WUDDALLAH the LOVE of Allah means till/ UNTIL it shows Some people when they read this Hadith find it so hard to apply What makes it easy to apply???? Knowing MY DUTY. My JOB is to Believe and do good deeds. So if I don t feel this then I have to go back and INCREASE my faith Like when u study and then you sit a paper and you don t get certain things correct. So then you know what you got wrong, why you didn t get it right etc. you can correct your shortcomings and mistakes and do better in the future. this Hadith tells us while we pass maybe we fell short so it helps us strive for better You love for your brother what you love for yourself So now ask yourself what do I love for myself??? DEEN + DUNIYA Ex in an EXAM someone who doesn t understand this correctly will say show me the answer cos you need to love for your friend what you love for yourself IS THIS CORRECT??? NO this is WRONG. this is cheating Or does it mean when I go shopping I have to buy the same blouse I get for myself for all my friends??!!! NO IT DOES NOT! What is OBLIGATORY is for me to LOVE anything in the DEEN which will benefit me for my sister or brother in islam. وا righteous deeds. I love for myself. It is obligatory on us to LOVE the ٱ ت example same for my friend. It is the same in the matter of the DEEN. I should NOT feel I must not teach my friend because then she will have better Ibaadah than me Or hide my notes from her cos then she will know islam better than me This is OBLIGATORY that I wish and share with her anything of DEEN I love for myself The more you believe you will love for your sister in Islamthe matter of the AAKHIRAH. You will love your friend to pray, do Ibaadah, seek knowledge the same way you do. And you will NOT feel happy when you see her fall into sin an think oh good now I will be better than her
Now look at matter of the DUNIYA Loving for your sister in islam the matters of the Duniya is MUSTHAHABB. Because the Duniya is not important. BUT loving the DEEN for your friend is WAAJIB Musthahabb means if I get something for myself it s not obligatory on me to get it for you. only optional Otherwise imagine how hard life would be! subhanallah If you get it for your friend then it means your faith is MORE. And remember this is NOT about people not within islam. This is about PEOPLE Who pass. And this word the muslims all the friends. doesn t mean JUST close friends it means everybody. All the relatives all Some examples- You and your Sister- in-law when her kids get good marks if you don t like it then you know how your faith is. People always think we are competing though there is really NO COMPETITION If you find you cannot be happy that all her kids got good marks then this means you have to ask Allah to help you Or if the opposite happens and her kids failed the exam and you feel happy then again you know what your faith is But really you love for them what you love for your kids And u should feel I make dua for her kids and my kids for the same And to repeat it again This is OBLIGATORY for the DEEN or anything benefitting the Aakhirah. But for the duniya it is musthahabb. BUT your faith is better if you are feeling like this for both duniya and Aakhirah Especially duniya see how u deal with fellow Muslim sisters. Do think I wont tell them about classes cos it is not necessary for them In DEEN you love for her the same things you LOVE for yourself. Now look at the QAWAAID (LESSONS) from this Hadith 1. helps us KEEP AWAY FORM HASAD envy. it negates jealousy Because you need to love all good for yourself and your friend Now look at the haasid a jelous person Look at the definition of a person of hasad. what he loves for himself he DOES NOT love for others. Anything deen or duniya Now let us look deeper at HASAD A hasood person will look at what another person has and WISH the removal of the blessing. Or he hates that this person has this blessing. Ex I see someone with more kids than me, a nice kind loving husband, a better house, more knowledge and in my heart I hate it or wish that she loses it
Not having anything is different. But when you see others having something and you hate it this is worse. This is why we need to REALLY LOOK AT OUR HEARTS. these are matters I SHOULD BE CONCERNED WITH. even jealous people have degrees or levels. Degrees Of Hasood 1 st degree- someone who wishes a blessing will remove from another person and transfer to him Ex-i see another person with a position in a department. i wish the blessing is removed from him and transferred to me This can happen with everything in life. This can happen with friends, family even with students of knowledge look at the two sons of Aadam One was Jealous about the other because his SACRIFICE was accepted by Allah. Hasad is something that BURNS the good deeds 2 nd degree someone who wishes a blessing is removed from another person but doesn t care if it comes to him or not This is Worse than the 1 st degree Ex- on street I see the building of someone who is wealthy and doing well in life and wish he loses his wealth. Not even wanting it for myself but I just wish he loses it. Because of course No way can this building ever come to me anyway. Or some people look at other people s wealth, prosperity, good fortune, etc and wish it be removed. Though there is no way it will EVER come to them Ex- you see your friend s husband is very loving and giving. And you wish she loses this. though you don t wish for her husband. Ex- or you see your sister in law is very good with your mom- in law. And you wish their relationship is spoilt though you don t want to be ilike that yourself with your mom in law Imagine houses have this, families have this, muslims have this. This is why these Hadith are a reminder for us. After all there is NOTHING to be jealous of because if she is righteous and good she will go to paradise. And that is BETTER than ANYTHING we can possibly want or have NOW And sometimes we look at people doing the bad and feel jealous because they have money wealth etc but all this is NOW. Temporary. So why do we envy them. And jealousy is something We all have. no one can say IM PURE. But some people CAN control their jealousy and overcome it. how?? with the NAMES OF ALLAH and the HADITH. Then it all becomes easier. So having these shortcomings is like a meter to judge my faith If I am feeling jealous this means I don t believe Allah huwa AR RAZZAAK and AL WAHHAAB
Allah huwa ar razzak means HE is the PROVIDER. It s not the man who has it but its Allah s provision. if I feel jealous it means I don t really understand Allah s names 3 rd level you don t wish the removal of a blessing but you HATE if she will GET a blessing more than YOU This is a level where she doesn t have anything but YOU don t want her to. You hate the idea of her having anything YOU don t have. Ex- you and your friend both have no children. so we are fine. But you feel you would hate it if she gets a child. I am happy being equal but hate her getting a child even in the future. This is BEFORE anything even happened Even in an exam when we have tests and all of us get the same mark we are ok. But we would HATE IT if our friends get better marks than us. We are happy to be equal So next week we will continue this HADITH inshallah Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, 'ash-hadu 'an laa 'ilaaha 'illaa 'Anta, 'astaghfiruka wa 'atoobu 'ilayka. Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You. May Allah forgive me all my errors mistakes and shortcomings.they are my own or from the shayateen. Auzubillahi minas shaytaan nirrajeem.please let me know any corrections.may Allah reward and accept from sister Emaan and us all. Ameen
