The Rector Writes Tell me the old, old story It is hard to believe today is the start of Holy Week. As I look at the week ahead the classic hymn Tell me the old, old story comes to mind. Part of the lyrics are Tell me the old, old story, Of Jesus and His love. Tell me the story slowly That I may take it in That wonderful redemption God s remedy for sin Throughout this coming week at the various services the old, old story of what Jesus did for us, will be told. Stop and listen. Stop and reflect. Stop and be. Stop and hear the greatest love story ever. Stop and hear the most amazing rescue story ever. Stop and marvel. Stop and give thanks. Stop and spend time with the crowds waiving palms and shouting hosanna. Stop and sit with Jesus as he washes the feet of his disciples. Stop and sit in the garden of Gethsemane where we hear the words not my will, but yours be done. Stop and hear the plotting, the arrest, the trial, the shouts of crucify him, and the words Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing. Stop and hear the weeping at the tomb, the bewilderment when it is empty and stop and witness the rejoicing at the risen Lord..Tell me the old, old story!!!! He prays that he might be given the future opportunity to read for a higher degree in theology.
