Third graders and up are asked to remain in the sanctuary with their parents. SAFE SANCTUARIES REMINDER: As a part of Triplett s Safe Sanctuaries policy, parents must pick up their children from Sunday School. Please make arrangements with their Sunday School teacher if your child is to be picked up by another adult. Children and youth under the age of 18 are asked not to leave the sanctuary during the worship service unless accompanied by an adult. ################################################################### HAPPENING TODAY HOLY LAND INFO MEETING - at 5:30 pm TODAY there will be an informational meeting for all who may be interested in taking a trip to the Holy Land, Israel, in February of 2017. Come listen as Rick and Teresa share their experiences and give information about the possible itinerary and cost of the trip. This trip is open to the members of Triplett, family, friends, and other area Churches. UMY... will meet TODAY immediately after the 11:00 am Worship Service. We will eat lunch and then travel to Winston Salem for the Compassion Experience. Please bring your own lunch. Drinks will be provided. We should return to the church by 4:00 pm. **There will be NO UMY next Sunday, May 8 th. The Triplett Day Care is sponsoring their annual Festival of Tables and silent auction. The theme this year is Mother s Day, Love Grows Here. The event takes place on Saturday, May 7 th at 11:00 am. Tickets are $10 each and available at the Day Care office or the Church Office. Call 704.663.1102 now to reserve your seat! MT. ULLA HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI - The Mt. Ulla High School Alumni Reunion will be held on Saturday, May 7 th in the Mt. Ulla Elementary School Gym. Doors will be open at 4 pm for those who would like to come early for fellowship time. Please bring food and drinks to share. Dinner will be at 5 pm. Hope to see you! ONE IN CHRIST... We will meet at the Fire Pit on Saturday, May 7 th at 6:00 pm. MAY 28, 2016 the Andy Thompson Scholarship Committee will be hosting a Spring Fundraising Breakfast in the Christian Life Center serving from 7:00 am - 10:00 am. Ham, bacon, eggs & grits, biscuits with gravy, jelly & butter. YUM!!! Coffee, OJ & milk. There s nothing better than fellowship among friends & Church family. So we ll provide the home-cooked breakfast, you bring along yourselves, your friends & neighbors to join in with our Church family to have a wonderful kick-off to your Memorial Day Weekend! Hope to see everyone there! ANDY THOMPSON SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION TIME - Scholarship applications are currently available in the Church office along with the scholarship policy. Please have completed scholarship applications returned to the Church office by May 8, 2016. MISSION TRIP... A Mission trip for adults and senior high youth is being planned for this summer. The trip will be to Alabama and the work will consist of repairing and rebuilding tornado and flood damaged homes. If you are interested or would like more details, please see Tommy Carriker. CHURCH LIBRARIAN NEWS - From your Church Librarian... I need your help! Although the church appreciates book donations, I m asking that you do not donate books to the Church Library at this time. The book cases are full and there is no room for more books. In fact, thirty books are processed and awaiting a home on the shelves, and there are more waiting to be processed. Additional shelving is needed. If you can help with that, please let me know. Thanks, Becky. FOOD PANTRY NEWS - Because of your generosity our food pantry is presently very well stocked. Monetary gifts will continue to be accepted to purchase cards which help families with perishable items. Thanks very much for your support of this ongoing ministry. COMMUNITY NEWS - St. Luke s Lutheran is having a blood drive on Monday, May 9th from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm. VBS NEEDS...The VBS team is collecting solid colored flat sheets to be used in decorating this year. Colors needed are white, beige, tan, and gray. Our Backpack ministry is currently in need of the following items: individual, microwavable containers of macaroni & cheese, potatoes and rice, peanut butter crackers and home style cup noodles. Henry Justice died Saturday, April 23. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Monday, May 2 nd at 3 pm at Myers Memorial UMC at 301 South New Hope Road Gastonia. Rev.
