Good Morning and Welcome! Prayer before worship: Dear God, our heavenly Father, we give thanks for the gift of your Son, who was tested in the desert for forty days, enduring temptations of body and soul, even as he fasted and prayed for strength. As we enter this season of Lent, strengthen our hearts, that we may resist temptations and endure hardships, trusting in you--in Jesus' name. Amen. This Week s Prayer List - remember these in prayer: We pray for a portion of Zion s family and friends Gary Bruesehoff; Harold and Eunice Bruesehoff; Harry Bruesehoff, Jr.; John Bruesehoff; Terry, Jill, Courtney, Megan, and Sydney Bruesehoff; Alan and Nancy Buckentine; and Heidi Buckentine. We pray for those under the care of a physician, undergoing treatment and therapy; for all difficulties and the ability to meet obligations; for a strong faith to meet every need. New Member: Today we receive Evelyn Seton into our membership by adult instruction. On behalf of the Congregation: Welcome and we are happy to have you in our family! 7 th -8 th Grade Confirmation Meeting after church today to discuss confirmation procedures and information. Order of Service Opening Hymn #418 O Lord, throughout These Forty Days Confession of Sins and Absolution Page 151 Introit When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble;* I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will sat- isfy him* and show him my sal- vation. Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place * the Most High, who is my refuge no evil shall be allowed to be- fall you,* no plague come near your tent. For he will command his angels con- cerning you* to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up,* lest you strike your foot a- gainst a stone. You will tread on the lion and the adder;* the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. Glory be to the Father and to the Son* and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the be- ginning,* is now, and will be forever. Amen. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble;* I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will sat- isfy him* and show him my sal- vation.
