Worship Part Four Great is The Lord
Great is The Lord Worship is the greatest priority in our life. In Mark 12:30, Jesus said that the greatest commandment of all was to LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.
Great is The Lord We can t be a true worshiper of God if we only worship Him partially. True worship involves laying down our lives as living sacrifices.
Great is The Lord Romans 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. There is no way to separate worship and service.
Great is The Lord We were designed to worship. When we worship God we are fulfilling our purpose in life. He is worthy of worship just because of who He is. Psalm 145:3 Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, And His greatness is unsearchable.
Great is The Lord Psalm 145:5 On the glorious splendor of Your majesty And on Your wonderful works, I will meditate. The worship of God begins with thinking about, magnifying, and responding to His glory and splendor.
Great is The Lord How big does God look when we are preoccupied with the cares, concerns, and worries of life? Magnifying, or focusing on, God s greatness is at the heart of biblical worship.
Great is The Lord Psalm 50:21 You thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you and state the case in order before your eyes. God is not limited; He is eternal, infinite, and almighty.
Great is The Lord First Peter 5:7 tells us to cast our anxiety upon God, because He cares for us. He is bigger than any of our problems. He s also bigger than any of the good things in our lives.
Great is The Lord So, we need to continually magnify God in our lives. God never changes in His greatness, but from our perspective it sometimes feels that He does.
Great is The Lord We need to work at having a more accurate view of God. Psalm 34:3 O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. The foundation and purpose of worship is to magnify God.
Great is The Lord We should be unwilling to be satisfied with incomplete and inaccurate images of God. A.W. Tozer said, Worship is pure or base as the worshiper entertains high or low thoughts of God. The true knowledge of God always leads us to worship Him.

III. His Works We will only truly worship God to the extent that we know Him. Psalm 63:1 O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
III. His Works The only way out of a rut is by looking up, seeking God like we would seek water in the desert, and really seeing Him for who He really is. There are no shortcuts to true genuine worship.
