Today s sermon text is from: Luke15:1-10 (NKJV) The Parable of the Lost Sheep 15 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 2 And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, This Man receives sinners and eats with them. 3 So He spoke this parable to them, saying: 4 What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost! 7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. The Parable of the Lost Coin 8 Or what woman, having ten silver coins, [a] if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost! 10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

GRAB BAG SERIES #4 A STORY OF 4 VERBS Luke 15:1-10 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. (Luke 15:1) Jesus was called - the friend of tax collectors and sinners (Matthew 11:19) murmured usually from the Greek word - go-gud-zo But Luke uses the Greek word - dia-go-gud-zo (only used once) dia in Greek basically means over the top In other words - the Pharisees & scribes were whipping up the crowd! The 4 verbs for today are: Loosing Seeking Finding Rejoicing LOOSING A sheep strays away a coin gets dropped and a son decides to leave home. SEEKING What man of you having 100 sheep, if he looses one of them doesn t leave the 99 and go after the 1 till he finds it? (Vs. 4) FINDING He lays it on his shoulders and he brings it home. (Vs. 5) REJOICING And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost! Jesus ends the story with these words: I say to you, there is joy in the presence of God s angels over one sinner who repents. (Luke 15:10)

Mount Oak Mission Ministry Helping One Another: Being the Hands and Feet of Jesus So let s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith. Galatians 6: 9-10 The Message KARIOS Prison Ministry Follow-Up: Janet Greenip served October 23 to 26 (WCI#5) and Gary Greenip (MCI-J#4) on October 30 to Nov. 2. Both were on teams that went inside the prison each day. Their mission: Christ s words in Matthew 25:36, I was in prison and you visited me. Please pray for the resident s and staff; for their hearts to understand and believe. In addition pray for all the outside support teams and for the inside Karios community. Upon completing their Kairos walk with God, at the Sunday closing service, a resident is welcomed into the family of God. On Sunday October 26, I had the privilege to attend the women s closing service Thirty women residents were amazed by the out pouring of love from over 35 of us plus the inside community, who sang When the Saints Coming Marching In, as they marched into their closing! We heard testimonies of their weekend experiences and how they plan to serve one another inside. Pray for strength and courage as they begin to live out Galatians 6: 9-10, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith. Also, I am proud to announce Janet has been chosen as the leader of the next Women s Inside Karios team. It will be in approximately 6 month. Begin praying now Janet will need support from her Mount Oak family. HOW CAN YOU HELP ONE ANOTHER?
