Is it aught to Him That the nights are long and the days are dim? Can He be touched by the griefs I bear which sadden the heart and whiten the hair? Around His throne are eternal calms, And strong, glad music of happy psalms, And bliss, unruffled by any strife How can He care for my little life? And yet I want Him to care for me, While I live in this world where sorrows be; When the lights die down in the path I take; When strength is feeble and friends forsake; When love and music that once did bless, Have left me to silence and loniness, And my life-song changes to sobbing prayers Then my heart cries out for a God who cares. O, wonderful story of deathless love; Each child is dear to that heat above; He fights for me when I cannot fight; He comforts me in the gloom of night; He lifts the burden, for He is strong; He stills the sigh and awakes the song; The sorrow that bowed me down He bears, And loves and pardons because He cares. Let all who are sad take heart again, We are not alone in our hours of pain; Our Father stoops from His throne above To soothe and quiet us with His love. He leaves us not when the storm is high, And we have safety, for He is nigh. Can it be trouble which He doth share? O, rest in peace, for the Lord doth care. Marianne Farningham

God s World I m glad I am living this morning, Because the day is so fair, And I feel God s presence so keenly About me, everywhere. The heavens declare His glory, The trees seem to speak of His power, And I see His matchless beauty In each small growing flower. The rocks all tell of His wonder, In the hills His strength I see; And the birds are singing His praises In the songs that they sing to me. I read in the daylight His greatness And the night speaks again of His power; The raindrops talk of His kindness In each refreshing shower. Oh, I m glad to be living this morning, In a world of beauty so rare Where the God of Heaven is hovering About me everywhere. Mildred Keeling

03/11/12 Not Alone Psalm 102:1-7 John 16:32 right. (Psa 102:1-7) (Psa 102:7) I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top. (John 16:32) Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. (Psa 18:1) To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD, who spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. (Psa 18:2) The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. (Psa 61:2) From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. (1 Cor 10:13) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (Gen 18:14) Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. (Eph 6:10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. (Eph 3:16) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; (2 Cor 4:16) For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. (Psa 20:7) Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. (Psa 20:8) They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
