Mark Your Calendars Bethany Christmas Pageant December 18 at 6 PM "Just Believe Fellowship and appetizers start at 6 and the performance at 7:00 PM. A children s choir prepares to leave for a big city convention center. When their bus breaks down, they end up performing at a Retirement Center and find the true meaning of Christmas is more than glitz and glamour. With hip contemporary music, Latin American music, country music, and a little bit of swing from the 40 s every child will have a favorite style! All are welcome! Starting on 7 December, the Video College of Biblical Knowledge (that meets in the Fellowship Hall from 9:30 to 10:30am on Sundays) will be viewing the 2014 feature-film Son of God, edited from the 2013 television mini-series, The Bible. The movie starts with Jesus' humble birth and follows His teaching, His crucifixion, and His resurrection. Join us. No prior "Biblical Knowledge" is necessary. As the end of the year approaches, please keep in mind that all contributions for 2014 must be received at the church no later than December 31, 2014. IRS general rules state that a check placed in the church offering plate in January 2015 cannot be recorded as a 2014 contribution, even if the check has been dated 2014. The only exception to this rule would be for contributions that are mailed and postmarked in 2014. These contributions would be deductible in 2014 even though the contributions were not received until 2015. If you have any questions please call Kim McCann, Financial Accountant, at 412-221-5132. Kim is generally in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Beginning January 2015 the Pastors will be doing the Scripture readings for worship by request of the Worship Team. The practice of having lay readers had begun during the most recent interim period between Sr. Pastors. Over the past year the Worship Team has been considering a return to the Pastoral reading of the Scripture lessons as the usual pattern for Sunday worship. That will begin in the new year- and will be evaluated later in the year. As we make this transition, your Worship Team wishes to thank all who have served so faithfully as lay readers for your faithfulness and excellence. We are grateful for your witness to God in the reading of His word. We invite your input on this and other dimensions of worship as we work to help us all glorify God.
