Genesis 1:1-5 O.T. filled wi TYPES & PATTERNS: A. e evening and e morning were e fir day. YHWH gives us a picture, TYPE, PATTERN: a day is evening and morning! Darkness to Light! B. Job 12:22 Job: He uncovers deep ings out of darkness, And brings e shadow of dea to light. C. Psalm 18:28 For you will light my lamp; YHWH my God will enlighten my darkness. D. Isaiah 9:2 prophesied e Chri The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in e land of e shadow of dea, Upon em a light has shined. E. Ephesians 5:8 Paul, For you were once darkness, but now you are light in e Lord. Walk as children of light F. Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from e power of darkness and has conveyed us into e kingdom of e Son of His love, 3. Anoer TYPE is at YHWH is e revelator, making e unseen seen! Here in Genesis we see day to day progression: A. YHWH BRINGS ORDER TO CHAOS! This is a TYPE of our salvation! Hebrews reckon a day from sunset to sunset! B. Evening is erev : refers to obscuration, a dimming or darkening from sight. C. Morning is boker : a relief from obscurity! D. Sunset marks e beginning of a NEW DAY! It is e time when a ceremonially unclean person becomes clean! E. In Genesis creation takes place day after day, evening to morning, erev to boker, chaos to order, from confusion to profound clarity of being. F. The seven day YHWH reed. His work was done. YHWH called is day e Sabba, wi no mention of erev or boker! G. Even Chri was crucified from e foundation of e world! 4. Leviticus 23 YHWH continues His TYPES and PATTERNS wi e 7 FEASTS OF THE LORD. True events at foreshadow, prophesy someing larger to come! If God does it once, He will do it again! A. Feas - HaMoyadim: A holy convocation; a calling togeer; a rehearsal (preparation for e future, anticipating a future event); an appointment! B. The FEASTS ARE GROUPED, intentionally connected.

C. Three Spring and ree Fall, wi one in between. Intereing! D. SPRING FEASTS: Fea of Passover, Fea of Unleavened Bread, Fea of Fir Fruits. (FALL FEASTS: Fea of Tabernacles, Day of Atonement, Feas of Trumpets). E. SHAVU OT, FEAST OF WEEKS falls between e two groupings. F. The Church has inaccurately lumped e SPRING FEASTS into Eaer. 5. PASSOVER is e celebration of Israel s deliverance from Egypt. Predicted by Abraham 430 before. The climax of e plagues on Egypt was e dea of e firborn. Israel was to sacrifice a lamb and place it s blood on e doorpos and lintel of eir houses! A. Exodus 12:2-13 NOTE: it was e blood, not e nationality at delivered e people! B. YHWH gives a NEW CALENDAR! Nisan, which was e seven mon, now became e 1 mon of e year in e religious calendar. Tishri is ill e 1 in e secular calendar. C. TYPES: 1) Jesus is e lamb slain from e foundation of e world. 2) On e 10 day of Nisan you shall select e lamb. 3) You shall keep it to e 14 day! 4) It shall be killed at twilight, e erev! Why are we doing is? Underanding will come in e boker! 5) No bones shall be broken. 6) Let none of it remain til morning. 7) YHWH will rike ALL e gods of Egypt! D. FULFILLMENT: 1) John introduces Jesus, Behold e Lamb of God who takes away e sin of e world. (John 1:29) 2) Jesus rode into Jerusalem on e 10 day of Nisan, presenting Himself for inspection! We celebrate it as Palm Sunday - but it was e Sabba before e Passover. Pilate declared Jesus pure, I find no fault in is man. 3) Jesus was kept for e 14 of Nisan. Jesus was betrayed, arreed, brought before Pilate and Herod, mocked, beaten. 4) Finally on e 14 of Nisan Jesus was crucified, dying at 3:00 pm. 5) They broke e legs of 2 ieves, but no bones were broken on Jesus. 6) Jesus was removed from e cross, while e 2 ieves remained, and placed in a tomb. 7) Jesus deroyed e power of sin and disarmed principalities and powers, he made a public spectacle of em, triumphing over em in it. (Colossians 2:15) E. Jesus was in e grave 3 days and 3 nights. 6. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD: Considered part of e Passover. It is e ritual search for leaven in e home (precursor of our spring cleaning. ) This Fea is e day after Passover. Same day Jesus was hidden in e grave! A. They wrap ree pieces of matzah, unleavened bread, and ack em on each oer. Then e middle piece is broken and en a piece is wrapped in a clo and hidden! Think Faer, Son, Holy Spirit! OR Jesus between 2 ieves, one is taken and hidden. B. The unleavened bread, matzah, has ripes and is pierced! C. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD is considered as an extra Sabba (Leviticus 23:5-7). There are two Sabbas in e week of Passover. 7. FEAST OF FIRST FRUITS: This was to take place on e morning after e regular Sabba after Passover. This would ALWAYS be on a Sunday morning! A. Imagine a particular Sunday morning when e smoke was coming from e Temple offerings of e Fea of e Fir Fruits, a group of disciples was discovering an empty tomb. B. But now Chri is risen from e dead, and has become e firfruits of ose who have fallen asleep. (1 Cor 15:24) C. Jesus is e Fir Fruit of e resurrection, and we are counted wi Him! 8. Genesis 8:4 Then e ark reed in e seven mon, e seventeen day of e mon, on e mountains of Ararat. A. Why is is detailed information given? Here is a simple proof of e inspiration of Scriptures. This Scripture has been validated to be hundreds of years BEFORE Jesus! BEFORE His crucifixion, dea, and resurrection! B. Jews have 2 calendars: e traditional secular calendar arting in e fall wi e mon of Tishri, and eir religious calendar beginning in e spring wi e mon of Nisan. C. In Genesis ey are ill using e traditional calendar arting wi Tishri. The new religious calendar is not introduced until Exodus 12:2. In Noah s time e seven mon was Nisan! E. Chri was crucified on e 14 of Nisan. How long was Jesus in e grave? Three days. His resurrection day was e 17 day of Nisan! The 17 day of e seven mon to Noah! F. YHWH arranged e new beginning of e ear in e days of Noah to occur on e anniversary - in advance - of our new beginning in Chri! (Chuck Measlier, Cosmic Codes) G. Israel crossed e Red Sea on e 17 of Nisan. Israel left Egypt retrieving e Body of Joseph from his tomb. Jesus was retrieved from anoer Joseph s tomb on e same anniversary!

Exodus 19:14-20 5/24/2015 TYPES & PATTERNS: FEASTS OF THE LORD - PENTECOST 1. 2 Corinians 2:14 Now anks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Chri, and rough us diffuses e fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 2. Leviticus 23 gives us e FEASTS OF YHWH. A. SPRING FEASTS: Fea of Passover, Fea of Unleavened Bread, Fea of Fir fruits. B. FALL FEASTS: Fea of Tabernacles, Day of Atonement, Feas of Trumpets. C. SHAVU OT, FEAST OF WEEKS falls between e two groupings. 3. The Feas mark hioric events BUT are also TYPES and PATTERNS of ings to come. Prophetic Markers of e promised Messiah! A. Feas - HaMoyadim: A holy convocation; a calling togeer; a rehearsal (preparation for e future, anticipating a future event); an appointment! B. The FEASTS ARE GROUPED, intentionally connected. C. Fir ree feas occur in e fir mon and were also prophetic of e Chri s fir advent: SPRING FEASTS. D. Final ree feas occur in e seven mon and appear to be prophetic of Chri s Second Coming: FALL FEASTS. E. Between ese two groups of feas is Hag HaShavu ot, e Fea of Weeks, also called, e Fea of Harve ( e fir Harve ). 4. Shavu ot was to be counted FROM e day of Fea of Fir Fruits 7 weeks (49 days) PLUS one. Fir Fruits was ALWAYS on Sunday. So also is Shavu ot ALWAYS on Sunday. Sunday is e FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK. A. On e FIRST, FIRST DAY: God created e heavens and e ear and said, Let ere be light! A DAY OF BEGINNINGS! A DAY OF LIGHT! A DAY OF NEW CREATION! B. John 1:1-5 5. HISTORICALLY: celebrates e GIVING of e Torah at Mt Sinai. Connection between Passover & Shavu ot: Passover freed Israel from e physical bondage of slavery; but e GIVING of e Torah freed Israel from e spiritual bondage of idolatry and immorality! A. Shavu ot celebrates e GIVING of Torah, raer an e receiving of Torah! Jewish sages say we receive Torah every day, but is day celebrates e FIRST TIME TORAH WAS GIVEN! Thus it is also called THE FEAST OF REVELATION! B. One of ree Feas at every male was compelled to attend! C. Tradition: King David died is day! Messiah is of David s line. Infers e end of one syem to be replaced by a second! 1) John 1:17 For e law was given rough Moses, but grace and tru came rough Jesus Chri. 6. Leviticus 23:16-22 A. Jesus was crucified on e very day of Passover! On e Fea of Unleavened Bread He was hidden in e tomb. On e Fea of Fir Fruits Jesus was raised from e dead! B. Lev 23:17 Two Loaves are FIRST FRUITS to YHWH. ONLY Fea to use TWO loves of LEAVENED BREAD! Also e sacrifice of TWO LAMBS! Do e TWO LOAVES OF LEAVENED BREAD hint of a Gentile connection? Are e TWO LAMBS offerings for e Jew and Gentile? C. Shavu ot is e FIRST of TWO HARVEST FEASTS! The second harve Fea is in e fall: e Fea of Tabernacles, OR e Fea of Ingaering! (Exodus 23:16) D. Consider e possibilities: One harve for e gentiles, one for e Jews? 7. Exodus 19:14-20 Shavu ot, e revelation of e Law was given! 1. The people sanctified emselves! Set emselves apart! 2. Thunderings, lightnings, a ick cloud came on e mountains! The POWER, dunamis, of God was revealed! 3. A TRUMPET WAS SOUNDED! 4. YHWH came in FIRE! The mountain shook! 5. TRUMPET SOUNDED AGAIN! Long, and louder and louder! 6. Moses Spoke AND GOD ANSWERED! Jewish Rabbis believe at God spoke in ALL 70 known TONGUES! 7. YHWH CALLED MOSES TO THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN! 8. ON THE VERY FIRST PENTECOST THERE WAS ALSO POWER, FIRE, AND TONGUES! A. Luke 24:49 Behold, I send e Promise of My Faer upon you; but tarry in e city of Jerusalem until you are endued wi power (dunamis) from on high. B. Acts 2:1-4 THE VERY DAY OF PENTECOST WAS THE BIRTH OF THE CHURCH! 1) They had sanctified emselves! In one accord in one place! 2) The POWER of e Holy Spirit FILLED e room! 3) There came a sound from heaven! Like a wind. A trumpet uses wind to make e sound! 4) There appeared tongues AS OF FIRE! 5) They were ALL filled wi e Holy Spirit and spoke wi oer TONGUES! 6) Acts 2:6-8 A second sound e Brea, Wind, of e Holy Spirit breaed rough men, and everyone heard em speak in his own language.

C. Mt. Sinai gave e revelation of God s Law, At Penteco was given e revelation of God s grace! Emphasis of BOTH is e GIVING! 9. The seven Feas of Moses are not only commemorative, ey are also prophetic. The fir ree, in e mon of Nisan, are predictive of e Fir Coming of Jesus. The la ree, in e mon of Tishri, are associated wi His Second Coming. It is is one, Penteco, Fea of Weeks, Fea of Revelation, Fea of Harve, in between, which is associated wi e Church. A. Comparing Exodus 19 & Acts 2 we find someing NOT fulfilled in Acts 2: YHWH called Moses to e top of e mountain! (Exodus 19:20) Could is be a type of Rapture? A speculation. B. Many see e Fea of Trumpets or e Fea of Tabernacles as predictive of e "rapture" of e Church. Do ese views fail to discriminate between e "rapture" of e Church and e Second Coming. Is ere a contradiction in attempting to apply e unique Jewish feas to e Church? C. It appears at e church period occurs in a gap, or interval in e Jewish time line of e Old Teament. 10. Here e traditions concerning Enoch are curious! Enoch was a prophet before e flood and teified of e Messiah s return (Jude 14). Tradition says Enoch was born on Penteco! Also at he was translated on Penteco, BEFORE e flood of Noah! A. Genesis 5:24 Enoch walked wi God: and he was not, for God took him. B. Is Enoch a foreshadowing of a removal prior to judgement, in contra to Noah and his family who were protected rough it. 11. Exodus 19 says e trumpet sounded twice, BOTH from heaven! Paul mentions e "Trumpet of God" in connection wi e rapture. It is intereing at e trumpet is sounded at e giving of e Law at Sinai and at e rapture. A. 1 Corinians 15:51-53 "Behold, I tell you a myery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in e twinkling of an eye, at e la trumpet. For e trumpet will sound, and e dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For is corruptible mu put on incorruption, and is mortal mu put on immortality." B. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 "For e Lord Himself will descend from heaven wi a shout, wi e voice of an archangel, and wi e trumpet of God. And e dead in Chri will rise fir. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up togeer wi em in e clouds to meet e Lord in e air. And us we shall always be wi e Lord." Leviticus 23:23-43 5/31/2015 TYPES & PATTERNS: FEASTS OF THE LORD - FALL FEASTS 1. 2 Corinians 2:14 Now anks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Chri, and rough us diffuses e fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 2. Leviticus 23 gives us e FEASTS OF YHWH. C. SPRING FEASTS: Fea of Passover, Fea of Unleavened Bread, Fea of Fir Fruits. Prophetic of Chri s fir advent. D. SHAVU OT, FEAST OF WEEKS falls between e two groupings. E. FALL FEASTS: Fea of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Fea of Tabernacles. Prophetic of Chri s second coming. 3. Mention of e feas in e New Teament: A. Matew 26:17; Mark 14:1; Luke 22:1 Fea of Unleavened Bread is used as a reference for ALL e Spring Feas! B. Luke 2:41-42 His parents went to Jerusalem every year at e Fea of e Passover. And when He was twelve years old, ey went up to Jerusalem according to e cuom of e fea. C. John 2:23; John 6:4; John 11:55; John 13:1 Passover D. John 5:1 a fea of e Jews. E. John 7:2 Fea of Tabernacles. F. John 10:22 Fea of Dedication. 4. Like e Spring Feas, e Fall Feas are interconnected. A. FEAST OF TRUMPETS: 1 of Tishri, A Religious Fea, its civil counterpart is Rosh HaShana (head of e year). Jews believe is is e birday of e world! (Lev 23:23-25) 1) Blowing of e shofars calls e nation to introspection and repentance. Shofar is blown 100 times a day during e 2 days of Rosh HaShana, finalized in e Great Blowing. The final bla is a long bla, signaling victory or good news, referred to as e la trump. Many believe at is is e la trump signaling e rapture. 2) The shofar, not e silver Temple trumpets, are used for is fea! The shofar is associated wi Abraham s Ram. The left horn being e fir trump and e right horn being e la trump. 3) Marks a time for preparing spiritually for e New Year.

Originally a 1 day fea, 500 AD it was extended to 2 days. 4) On e 1 Day many Jews practice e Tashlich. They ca bread upon moving water. Bread represents eir sins of e previous year. Tashlich means caing off. 5) The belief is at God is re-viewing e lives of each person on ear to see if eir names will be written in e Book of Life. B. IMMEDIATELY following e Fea of Trumpets begins seven Days of Affliction, DAYS OF AWE, or Days of Repentance in anticipation of e Day of Atonement, or Yom Kippur. 1) While names are written in e Book of Life, or oer books, on Rosh HaShana, as to who will have a good life or a bad life for e next year, it is believed our actions during e Days of Awe can alter God s decree. These actions are teshuvah, tefilah and tzedakah," repentance, prayer, good deeds (usually, charity). 2) A greeting during is time is, "May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year." 3) The Talmud maintains at Yom Kippur atones only for sins between man and God. To atone for sins again anoer person, you mu fir seek reconciliation wi at person, righting e wrongs you committed again em if possible. C. DAY OF ATONEMENT, YOM KIPPUR: Observed on e 10 of Tishri. A national day of repentance, wi sin offerings and ceremonial washings. The ONLY DAY e High Prie was able to enter e Holy of Holies; ONLY DAY at two goats were selected, one for an offering, and one as e scapegoat. 1) Jonah is read is day to remind at God pardons ose who truly repent. Also is marked by 25 hours of faing. D. FEAST OF TABERNACLES, SUCCOTH, FEAST OF BOOTHS: 15 of Tishri. This las for 8 days, celebrating e pa harve, ALL males are required to attend, as is e Fea of Unleavened Bread, and Shavu ot or Penteco. After 8 days people would return to eir permanent homes. Some say is is e rapture! Believed is day Solomon dedicated e 1 Temple. 1) Sukkot: temporary dwelling outside e home. Mu have holes allowing e wind to blow rough. At night you mu be able to see e ars. Sukkot is a reminder of how God provided as e Jews wondered 40 years in e wilderness leading em wi a cloud by day & a pillar of fire by night. 2) They celebrated e giving of water from e rock by having a daily processional to e Pool of Siloam to fetch water for te Temple. 3) Setting John 7:37-39 "On e la day, at great day of e fea (of tabernacles), Jesus ood and cried out, saying, If anyone irs, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as e Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But is He spoke concerning e Spirit, whom ose believing in Him would receive; for e Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. 5. Jesus Himself implied e feas were prophetic: A. Matew 5:17 "Do not ink at I came to deroy e Law or e Prophets. I did not come to deroy but to fulfill." B. John 5:39-40 "You search e Scriptures, for in em you ink you have eternal life; and ese are ey which teify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me at you may have life." C. Romans 15:4 "For whatever ings were written before were written for our learning, at we rough e patience and comfort of e Scriptures might have hope." D. Colossians 2:16-17 "So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a feival or a new moon or sabbas, which are a shadow of ings to come, but e subance is of Chri." 6. THE PROPHETIC NATURE OF THE FALL FEASTS ARE STILL AHEAD OF US, AND AHEAD FOR ISRAEL! A. 1 : Jesus fulfilled e Spring Feas: Passov er, Unleavened Bread, Fir Fruits, by His dea, burial, resurrection! nd B. 2 : Shavu ot is about e Church! The Law was given at Mt Sinai rough Moses on Shavu ot, on e same day, Penteco, e revelation of YHWH s grace and tru was given in e Holy Spirit! rd C. 3 : The Fall Feas, are about Israel! Are e Fall Feas TYPES of e LATTER DAYS, e final days of Israel? 1) The Fea of Trumpets, Day of Atonement are all about repentance! Through repentance, prayer, and good deeds our future is affected! His grace accessed! Recognizing e need of a Savior, e Messiah! 7. Daniel 9:23-27 Prophecy of Jesus was fulfilled to e day! Daniel speaks of an end time, when anoer prince, anti-chri, appears! A. Jeremiah 30:1-24 speaks of is time calls it Jacob s trouble. B. Daniel 12:1-4 Michael shall and up... 8. THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES Final harve fea! A joyous fea, following an intense time of prayer, petition, and repentance! A. Repentance is over! High Prie has atoned for ALL sin! Mercy Seat has been sprinkled wi blood. At e end of Sukko we leave our temporary dwellings for our permanent home. B. To be absent form e body is to be present wi e LORD! This could represent e Millennial Reign of Chri!
