Strengthened through training, operating in the anointing, and under girded by prayer; we will strive to make God visible in the spirit of excellence lining up with the vision of the Local Church, The Senior Pastor and the Minister of Music. We envision along with our Pastor, a body of believers who become lifestyle worshippers, able to maintain an intimate relationship with the Lord on a daily basis through study of the bible, Prayer, praise and worship. We endeavor to express our worship to the Father through various creative avenues in order to incorporate all age groups and gifts.

The Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church Worship & Arts is a ministry of helps. We are instrumental in assuring that the flow of the service results in us having a worship experience. Those who participate in this ministry have already experienced the new birth in Christ and are walking in the Spirit daily living a consistent Christian life. This ministry s main focus is supporting the vision of our Pastors as it unfolds. The Department is also a resource to the fellowship in the area of education to help people to receive from the Lord and minister to Him as we enter into corporate worship. Since we recognize that we are his instruments consecrated for this task we will: Watch and pray that we enter not into temptation: The Spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41 Pray without ceasing I Thessalonians 5:17 Those who serve in this ministry of ministry must be constantly aware that they are examples, leaders unto the body as we enter into the presence of the Lord. Therefore, members must not do anything that would distract from the Spirit of God. Each member should seek God for a specific day to consecrate themselves in fasting and prayer. We must fast with a purpose of love, to know the mind of Christ and our motives must be pure. Ministry may observe fast days. Fast times are to be observed as the Pastors are led, or as you are individually led of the Lord. Responsibilities: God being our helper, each member will. 4) All departmental members are required and expected to attend pre-service prayer and remain present for the duration of the prayer. If a member is late or absent from pre-service prayer, the member will not minister unless given consent by the Ministry Leader. 5) If a department member is consecutively late or absent and accrues Two (2) or more consecutive unexcused lateness or absences, (for rehearsal or scheduled event) that individual will receive a consultation form listing the areas of concern including dates and times of the noted concern. After the third (3) late or consecutive absences, the individual will be considered on a leave of absence. The individual upon receipt of the form is expected to set up a appointment with the Minister of Music to discuss their situation. If after a two (2) week period the individual has not made an effort to Contact the Minister of Music, they will be considered on leave until the issues are resolved and they are released to return to their area of ministry. 6) The Minister of Music reserves the right to deny any member of Wayman Chapel Department of Music the opportunity to participate in any service for disciplinary reasons, inappropriate dress or other matters of spiritual concern. 1. Strive by the grace of God, to live a consistent Christian life in speech and conduct. a) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24 b) II Timothy 3:14

c) Ephesians 2:3-6 d) II Corinthians 1:12 e) I Peter 1:15 2) Endeavor to keep his/her heart right with the Savior and with every other person at all times. Hebrews 10:2-4 3) Prove himself/herself a faithful stewards of their time, talent and Possessions. Notwithstanding no devoted thing that a man shall devote unto the LORD of all that he hath both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD. Leviticus 27:28 4) Be filled with the Holy Spirit so that we can sing with the anointing. a) What is it then? I will pray with the Spirit, I will pray with the Understanding also I will sing with the Spirit and I will sing with the understanding also. I Corinthians 14:15 b) Acts 2:4 5) Seek constantly to deepen his/her spiritual life and improve his/her musical abilities. a) If any man speaks let him speak as the oracles of God. If any man minister let him do it as the ability, which God giveth that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever amen. I Peter 4:11 b) Matthew 25:15 Leave of Absence The period of a leave of absence will be three months with monthly meetings/contact with the Minister of Music. The Minister of Music reserves the right to extend the time beyond this period on a case by case basis. When the leave of absence has expired, the individual must meet with the Minister of Music to ensure all requirements have been met and all concerns dealt with. The Minister of Music can reinstate an individual to their area of ministry. Enforcement of Expectations/Disciplinary Actions Enforcement of the departmental expectations and governing policies and procedures should be done in the order set forth in the ministry structure for which an individual serves. Example: Choir Ministry Section Leader - First level of authority Director or Ministry coordinator Second level of authority Minister of Music Third level of authority. The Minister of Music has the final authority and operates under the authority of the Senior Pastor who will be informed of all actions. The Senior Pastor grants the Minister of Music the freedom to manage this ministry. 6) Cooperate with the Pastors and Leadership as they lead in the program which the Pastors believe to be God s will for the church at this time.

Joshua 24:14 e) Ephesians 6:24 8) Take care to see that his/her physical appearance befits a minister of The Lord and reflects the cleanliness and orderliness of his/her life. 9) Pray and work together toward the end that the ministry will guide the lost, uplift the saved and be a dynamic force in God s kingdom. Guidelines While these guidelines may give an air of rigidity, I have found that clear communication of directives and lifestyle standards has produced self-elimination rather than confrontation of those not genuinely called to ministry. As ministries are added and established ones grow and develop, some of them may have expectations that are applied to that specific area of ministry. If there are questions please feel free to ask them so that there might be clear an understanding of what is expected. Attendance Attendance and punctuality are important factors that are of key relevance to the success of each individual of each ministry. These factors will determine your level of allegiance and commitment to the ministry and the priority that the ministry holds in your own life. 1) All ministry members are required to attend their Ministry rehearsals, services and events as the month dictates and as requested by the Ministry Leader. Rehearsals, bible study, regular services and special events. 2) All worship ministry members are expected to communicate with the appropriate contact person before he/she anticipates an absence from a scheduled rehearsal, service or event. (Fair explanations should be given and are requested). Leeway and special consideration will be given to department members in situations where an emergency or extenuating circumstance causes lateness or absence from a scheduled rehearsal, service or event. The Important factor is COMMUNICATION with the appropriate contact person. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary actions. Absences result in member not being able to minister until being restored by Ministry leader.
